Ran a 10k - Official Thread (1 Viewer)

Anyway, hope our preparation has us ready for tomorrow and will try and execute as best as I can. Thanks again for all the support here. I'll be thinking of most/all of you tomorrow morning at some point. I'll have plenty of time for that
You guys have rocked your training, bonus weeks and all.  With those temps, I imagine your pacer will be totally dissolved into a puddle of sweat while you crush your goals.  Kick some ###.

Best wishes to @gianmarco and Mrs. Gian!!!  Gian, if you haven’t already, plan your mantras now for the final several miles ...you can’t do that on the fly.  Mrs. Gian will have the human mantra with her, so she’ll be fine.  Looking forward to the results!!!

Also going to be following along, like a total loser.  Break a leg!*

*I don't know a lot about running; perhaps this isn't the right "good luck" wording.
Total loser??? Races are the most exciting part of this thread!!!

Add in that races have been shut down, so we are starving for some excitement and this is @gianmarcos first marathon and this is hugely epic  :towelwave:

Go get 'em team gian   (no poop stops @gruecd, if you feel the urge, just let it rip on the course...don't let Mrs gian down)

Just woke up in anticipation of this and then realized, "Oh. I still have to wait 7 more hours..."

Best of luck to the Gians and Grue! You got this!

Looks like a little rain may have just gone through but the forecast looks relatively clear throughout the race.  Pulling hard for you guys here in KC.

:headbang:

Yep, looking good. And slightly cooler temps as well. A lot of the course is shaded to boot.

Mr. and Mrs both slept pretty decently. Poops in the books. Locked and loaded and ready to head out in next 15 minutes to the course.

Couple pop tarts and a banana consumed. Beet juice ready to be consumed just prior to departure. Toes lathered up in vaseline, body glide applied very liberally.

Just can't get any more ready.

Is there any way to track grue and the mrs?

And remind us again of her goal? 3:40?

Toes in Vaseline? I don’t get this one

Was thinking of our marathoners during my run.  Thought there’d at least be update when I got back.  Do we have chip numbers?  Where’s our research department?

@gianmarco is gonna come in here after the race all triumphant...ready to read all the "keep pushin'" and "finish strong" and "YOU GOT THIS" accolades throughout the morning.

Instead.....crickets.....

Was on the trails today sending my running energy vibes to the east.  While we don't have updates, @gianmarco is very likely in the home stretch now.  Mrs. G should be almost done!

Push through!  GET IT DONE!!!  GOGOGOGO!!!

I did two runs this mornimg...2.4 w floppinho (he set the pace, and pushed to 8:49 avg) and 6.6 on my own for 9 total.

Weather was gorgeous (70, low humidity, blue skies), which probably made me go faster than I wanted/should. I really need to learn from Gian and take these runs down to 10min instead of letting my body decide what's what.
