Gian: "Such a beautiful, sunny day, and what a nice, open boardwalk. Wanna catch a little run?"
Get your own.Lol.
And you guys know what I just learned. Photos don't do that Gian-Adonis justice. Would.
So much fun.
Cool that you guys could meet. What brought you to NYC?So much fun.
Was dreading the run the night before as it was chilly, I needed to ride the subway to meet up for a good 45+ minutes just to get to the spot, and was pretty beat. But, after getting up and going, felt much better and it was a glorious morning. Get out of the station and I see the only other idiot outside standing there wearing shorts and knew he was the one...
After a long embrace, we got going and the miles and conversation just flowed. Every once in a while I'd look over and I could just see an expression that seemed to say "if only Grue could see me now".
It was sad when it came to an end, but I'm pretty sure there will be more in the future.
Enjoy those Packers and Chiefs games this week, fellas.

No running for months and then rip off a 10miler, pretty impressive![]()
You said it was me.
Pretty effortlessly, I might add. He was able to talk comfortably. I was able to listen comfortably too.lumpy19 said:No running for months and then rip off a 10miler, pretty impressive
Thanks. Tbf, I feel today like I did after my first 1/2 IM. Quads are mushy and useless, like @ned sister's potato salad. But Achilles are no worse for wear thankfully.lumpy19 said:No running for months and then rip off a 10miler, pretty impressive
the Floppy/Gian meetup.
That guy isn’t one of us.the Floppy/Gian meetup.
I started out feeling good about my planking, since ChiefD, The Iguana and others started at 1:30. Figured I'd do the same as Iggy said he was doing and just increase by 0:05 every day, which meant I hit 2:00 today, and since lots of people haven't entered anything for a few days, I though that was cool. But then there's a guy who has entered 5:00 two of his four days.![]()

You are doing great by the way. I’ve been recording mine on the first page of the spreadsheet. If you can’t see my column you may look for the bright yellow color highlighting it.
Somehow 2:00 today felt easier than 1:55 yesterday, though. Maybe I'll get to 2:30.Unless that's actually (-22°), that's not cold.It will be cold - 22° so that may slow me a bit.
I have a turkey trot in the morning. I think you’re capable of going faster than 6:30 in a 5K. I was planning on doing around 6:15 pace and seeing if I could hold on. I have now readjusted and am going for a PR (6:05). I want to go deep into the pain cave tomorrow, and 6:15 isn’t going to get me there. Also, 22 degrees is literally freezing. I would need to have 2 hand warmers in each hand, 2 pairs of gloves, and a large pair of ski mittens over all of it. Good luck tomorrow!Who has a Turkey trot tomorrow?
I have a 4 mile “Wobble Gobble” in Keene, NH (although I think it was 3.8ish miles last time I ran it). My 5K race pace is about 6:27/mile. So I’m thinking I’ll go out at 6:30 pace and hold on for dear life.
It will be cold - 22° so that may slow me a bit. (cue @gruecd complaining it’s too warm and telling me I should go shirtless.)
Mine is Saturday. Weatherwise tomorrow would be better (35F with calm winds). Saturday morning should be about 30F (chilly but fine), with 15-35mph winds (yuck). The good news is the course is relatively sheltered from the wind, but if the forecast holds most of mile 2 will be almost directly into the wind along the river. Trying to figure out if this means I need to be less aggressive with my goal.Who has a Turkey trot tomorrow?
:Says @gruecd in particular: "That's redundant"I’m not doing a Turkey trot but I am planning a painful 5k sometime this weekend. Want to see if I’m anywhere close to 20min(also trying to beat a friend)
It’s just 22°. Not negative 22°.gruecd said:Unless that's actually (-22°), that's not cold.
I have the sudden urge to scream **HUMIDITY** and watch you wilt away in a massive pile of wuss.Maybe if you're a big ol' wussie.
Says the guy that would likely complain that 20 is too cold.Maybe if you're a big ol' wussie.
Well he said 22, not 20Says the guy that would likely complain that 20 is too cold.
No turkey trot for me. Just gonna try and gobble up some miles for my base. Any miles I run right now is just gravy at this point. Going to try and do 6 or so tomorrow, maybe 5 on Friday, and try and hit 10 on Saturday. Maybe a short one on Sunday. Mash them all together and I'll be at around 25-27 for the week. Hoping that's not pie in the sky thinking.
I ran 26:17 over 3.8 miles in 2017. 6:57 pace.SteelCurtain said:Who has a Turkey trot tomorrow?
