Random movie "aha" moment (1 Viewer)

Was surfing past SciFy channel last week and stopped on a bad movie called Eight Legged Freaks to evaluate how Kari Wuhrer's wonderful rack was holding up with time and noticed that the young woman playing her daughter looked vaguely familiar. It was only when she turned to profile and stretched out her little t-shirt to put a jacket on that I realized that those bad boys could only belong to Scarlett Johansson.
Yep, some young Johanssons in that underrated horror comedy...If only her and Kari made out

This has probably been mentioned already, but since I always check out Vacation on TV after it has already started (and have still yet to get around to getting it on DVD or Blu-Ray), I almost never see the very beginning, so I didn't realize until very recently that the car salesman is the same actor who played Jim's dad in the American Pie series of movies. I am pretty sure I probably should have known this already.

Guess this is a good place to post this.

Flipping channels and come across slash in concert.

The lead singer Myles Kennedy is the guy in rock star who takes over for walhberg. I had no idea he was a famous musician.....

Wow! Noticed the same thing when watching it. She looked really young there.

Last night, Mr R and I were watching Ghostbusters. He recognised the guard in the jail who calls through the bars for the Ghostbusters as the cop from Die Hard who helps Bruce Willis.

Batman is an american superhero played by british actor Christian Bale. Spiderman is an american superhero played by british actor Andy Garfield. Superman is an american superhero played by british actor Henry Cavill.

Sherlock Holmes is a british hero played by American actor Robert Downey Jr. Margaret Thatcher is a british figure played by American actor Meryl Streep.

I love Jim Carrey and went to see all these films in the theater but for some reason I was surprised to hear that he released, "Dumb And Dumber", "The Mask" and "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective" all in the same year (1994) all the while still doing "In Living Color".

That's a pretty big freaking year for anyone.

Excuse me I'm a little slow but watching Christmas Vacation last night and just noticed that the neighbor lady is Julia Louis-Dreyfus, just never put that together.
Coincidentally enough I just watched Vacation and had two a-ha moments. First, I noticed in the credits that the "Holiday Road" song was sung by Lindsey Buckingham...had no idea.Secondly, I noticed that Cousin Eddie's daughter (of the infamous "yeah, but daddy says I'm the best" line) is Jane Krakowski from 30 Rock.
 I love that little piece of trivia
Makes me feel old, but I can remember that little bit of trivia coming up 15 years ago back when Ally McBeal took the tv world by storm (she was the title character's roommate.) I think almost every chick I know told me that story at least once back then.

Oh yeah. Great, prominent display of how awesome realies look in a t-shirt.

Not a movie, but an '80s music video I just came across: Mike & The Mechanics - "All I Need Is A Miracle".

The manager at the beginning of the video is none other than Veruca Salt's dad from the original Willy Wonka film.

Really young in Home Alone 3 if you've never witnessed that wreck of a flick.Daughter rented it over this past Christmasbreak and I knew the face, rack hadn't happened at that point in time.

Carl Winslow?
No. Who's Carl Winslow? It's Reginald VelJohnson.
Do you recall the name Urkel? Or the show Family Matters? RVJ played the dad, Carl Otis Winslow, in what Id have to guess was 1 of the 5 biggest sitcoms, or at least family sitcoms, of the 90's. He even appeared in more episodes than Urkel, and it was on for a decade. Could just be me, but he's quite recognizable so your OP struck me as odd.

Clancy Brown...the head guard in the movie The Green Mile.

He also plays the Viking leader in Pathfinder.
Also was in Bad Boys (no, not the one with Will Smith and Martin Lawrence) with a very young Sean Penn, Esai Morales and Ally Sheedy
Ironically, his name in Bad Boys was Viking.
Different guy.Green mile guy was David Morse. Classic character actor, usually plays a bad guy.

Ah, you know what? I think he meant Shawshank, not Green Mile.
If that's who he's referring to, he's also The Kurgen in Highlander.
You mean Mr. Krabs?

Did you also recognize him from the Beatles' movie "Help", where he was the mad scientist's assistant?

- although it's been a long time since I've seen Help.

Sorry. I never watched that show. The name Urkel is just vaguely familiar.

Who?

I know this may be the dumbest "aha" moment of all time, but I can't explain.

"Forrest Gump" has been on the HBO channels all through September.

I never realized before that the scene with Forrest on the "**** Cavett Show" with John Lennon was comprised entirely of the lyrics for the song "Imagine".

I never noticed until now.

Was watching W. last night with the GF and she casually points out that this guy who I have seen in tons of movies over the years is D-Day from Animal House, a movie that I have seen 50 times if I've seen it once. Blew my mind.

That guy is a classic "that guy". Been in a thousand movies.

Vinny: Sheriff Farley... what'd you find out?Sheriff: On a hunch, I took it upon myself to check out if there was any information on a 1963 Pontiac tempest, stolen or abandoned recently. This computer readout confirms that two boys, who fit the defendants' description were arrested two days ago by Sheriff Tillman in Jasper County, Georgia, for driving a stolen metallic mint green 1963 Pontiac Tempest, with a white convertible top, Michelin model XGV tires, size 75 R 14.

Vinny: Is that it?

Sheriff: No. A 357 Magnum revolver was found in their possession.

Vinny: Sheriff Farley, just to refresh the court's memory, what caliber weapon was used to murder Jimmy Willis?

Sheriff: 357 Magnum.

Vinny: The defense rests.

He's in everything. Was MacGyver's buddy, too.
Yup. But I never realized he was D-Day until my GF just mentioned it as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. I am terribly disappointed in myself and equally impressed with my GF.

Head or gut?

not sure if anyone has mentioned it, but I came across a pretty good "aha" moment watching Seinfeld the other day.

in the 1993 episode where George gets new glasses and Jerry thinks his girlfriend is cheating on him with his cousin Jeffrey, Jerry's girlfriend is played by none other than...Skylar from Breaking Bad!

This guy from one crazy summer is Bill Murray's brother. Don't watch madmen so didn't realize that but I had no idea they were related (Joel MurraY). Just saw his name for the first time :bag:

There's also some dude in that movie that is Joan Cusack's brother or something.

I had no idea, either, until I read Grantland today. Turns out the three Murray brothers all call Kelly Lynch's husband every time they see Road House on tv and tell him they're watching his wife have sex with Patrick Swayze.

One of Bills other brothers played Kelly bundy's diner boss in Married With Children.
That's Brian Doyle-Murray. He's been in literally everything.

What character did he play in Heat?

Just noticed that one of Eddie Murphy's cellmates at the beginning of "Trading Places" is Giancarlo Esposito (i.e, "Agent Giardello from Homicide: Life On The Street", "the FBI agent from The Usual Suspects", and "Muhammad Ali's dad in Ali").
And Gustavo Fring in Breaking Bad

Bill Murray: SNL, Ghostbusters, Groundhog Day....

John Murray: Caddyshack, Moving Violations, Scrooged...

Joel Murray: One Crazy Summer, Dharma and Greg, Mad Men...

Brian Doyle-Murray: Caddyshack, Vacation, Groundhog Day...
All of the Murray brothers were in Scrooged.Brian was his father

John was his brother

Joel was a friend playing Trivia Pursuit
This seems appropriate http://www.grantland.com/blog/hollywood-prospectus/post/_/id/59908/bill-murray-likes-to-call-kelly-lynchs-husband-every-time-he-sees-patrick-swayze-having-sex-with-her-in-road-house
