Random movie "aha" moment (1 Viewer)

Been watching "Sons of Anarchy" and was driving me crazy trying to figure out who the lawyer "Rosen" was...

It is Tom Everett Scott :bag:

Huh, the young guy in the launch control room at the beginning of Wargames is Michael Madsen.Edit: I see this one was mentioned before.

In Oh Brother Where Art Thou? there is a scene where John Goodman beats up and robs Everett and Delmar. He hits Delmar first, then Everett all while speaking of money. Then Delmar launches forward and grabs Goodmans legs. Goodman says something that always sounded like, "Don't rape me."

Turns out he was following his statement of "It's all about the money boys!" with, "Doh, Ray, ME!"

I like your version better.

Uncle Rico from "Napoleon Dynamite" is not only the guy in the closet in "Real Genius," he's also the homeless guy that stole Kramer and Newman's rickshaw.

:lmao:

I couldn't remember that character's name for the life of me yesterday. Had I been on the PC, I would have looked it up to show the proper respect, but I was sending that on my phone on the way out the door and didn't have time to pull up imdb.

Jon Gries was also Roger Linus in "Lost".

in Monty Python and the Holy Grail, one of the French soldiers is insulting King Arthur and says, "...i blow my nose at you so called King Arthur, you and all your silly ki-nig-et-s!"

it just dawned on me: the soldier is phonetically saying "knights".

Watching The Runaways. I knew I had seen the music teacher before. He played Snake on The Facts of Life. Took Natalie's virginity!

Sorry if a Honda but it took me 4 episodes of Elementary to figure out that Johnny Lee Miller was the same guy that played Jordan Chase on Dexter

I just realized that they don't really walk funny at the Ministry of Silly Walks.

Good postings.

I dvr'd freaks and geeks on IFC and I'm down to the final couple episodes. Just realized that papa Weir is the guy from Happy Gilmore. YOU JACK ###.

That actor was born to play Mr. Weir on Freaks and Geeks. He played it so well, feel like he coulda became the star of the show had it lasted more than one season.

Saw Airplane! again last night. Jonathan Banks - the guy who plays Mike in Breaking Bad - was one of the air traffic control guys (the guy in the brown leather jacket). His most memorable line from the movie is probably "He's all over the place - what an ### hole."

Sorry if this was already mentioned.

i remember him from beverly hills cop

I'm sitting here watching 'The Warriors', and the lady cop on the bench looked real familiar. A quick IMDB search tells me she went on to be Ms. Baskin in 'Big' and also Frasiers boss for several episodes.

In We Bought a Zoo, the zookeeper is this really cute blonde named Scarlett Johannson. I googled her and found some nude pics.

She also went on to be Mercedes Ruehl.

Just watched a 1970 episode of Mission Impossible. I saw three guys I'd never expect to see working together:

Leonard Nimoy (he replaced Martin Landau in the series), Larry Linville (using a foreign accent), and Sam Elliot (without his moustache).

It makes me wonder just how many successful actors have ever appeared on that show.

I was flipping through the channels yesterday and stopped at Mallrats when I noticed that Brandi's father is the same dude who plays Merle in Walking Dead.

*edit* I was looking on imdb and the guy who played LaFours was the same guy who 'came out of retirement' to face Maximus in the Gladiator movie. Would have never guessed.

Was watching Lebowski tonight and I noticed that the doctor who examines The Dude is the guy who plays Ranjit (the chauffeur) on "How I Met Your Mother".

Was watching Aliens for the umpteenth time last night and I realized that the body armor worn by Cpl. Hicks, played by Michael Biehn, has a red heart painted on the front of it.

Not a huge realization, but I'd never noticed it before. Also, the heart has a (real, not painted) padlock over it, that seems to serve no particular purpose.

I'm sure it's been mentioned

mike from Breaking Bad

Victor's goon in Beverly Hills cop :bag:

I think I remember reading that the cast personalized their gear like GIs did in Vietnam.

I read it as foreshadowing - his character has got warmth the others don't, and of course he has a thing for Ripley by the end. In some ways it's even more interesting if he customized it himself.

Armorer Terry English made three sets of armor for each member of the cast who needed to wear armor. He was only given two weeks to complete the job and upon arriving back at his workshop a few hours drive away from the film set, he realized he had forgotten the scrap of cloth James Cameron had given him so that the camouflage on the armor could be matched correctly to the uniforms the Marines would be wearing. Instead of going all the way back, English painted the completed sets of armor from memory. The result was a pattern and color combination not too dissimilar to the British Army DPM pattern. Fortunately, Cameron liked the contrast between the armor and the BDUs (Battle Dress Uniforms) the Marines wore beneath it, saying it make the armor more obvious to the eye. The graffiti you see on some of the armor was done by the actors themselves, with a little help from English for a few details like Hicks' clasp and padlock on his chest armor. The armor was hand made from Aluminum and all in one size, with on set adjustments made by English to make them fit each actor.

Here's something else:

Michael Biehn stated that he didn't get to customize his armor because he was cast so late in production. For the most part he liked all of the custom work on his, but he states that he hated the heart with the padlock on the chest plate as it was far too much like a bulls-eye.

TV show rather than movie, but rewatching all of Freaks & Geeks with my sons.

In one of the first few episodes, Rashida Jones played a bully picking on Sam. Another bully early on was Squints (Chauncey Leopardi) from The Sandlot.
