Random movie "aha" moment (2 Viewers)

Watched Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo last night on TV and realized Amy Poehler is the girl who has turrets on one of Deuce's dates.

I was watching the new TV show Intelligence last week and my wife and I had that "ok, what do I know that actress from" moment. A Chinese diplomat played by Rosalind Chao who was Keiko O'Brien on STTNG and DS9. But the real aha moment was learning that she was Soon-Lee from MASH. I never made the connection when watching Star Trek. IMDb is great.

I remember in high school watching pleasantville and being told that the whole movie was a take off from "The Scarlet Letter". My teacher ruined a movie I used to really like.

She was also Gary Coleman's teacher for awhile on Diff'rent Strokes.

Stupid teacher...trying to get you to think and junk.

He's been in a lot of stuff lately (according to IMDB, haven't seen most of it), but Martin Starr (Bill from Freaks and Geeks) had a role in The Goldbergs this week.

Watched Ladyhawke last night. Had seen this countless times on HBO back in the 80's.

John Wood plays the Bishop of Aquila, who is the same actor who played Steven Falken (A.K.A. Dr. Robert Hume) in Wargames

I can't believe I never noticed this was the same guy. :bag:

His accent is exactly the same and both movies star Matthew Broderick as well..

So you're the one.

Pulp Fiction

I always thought the guy hiding in the bathroom that shot at Jules and Vincent was Jerry Seinfeld.

I recently found out it was actually the tranny keyboard player from The Wedding Singer

He's also an Arquette...Rosanna's little brother, who of course is also in it.

Not really an "aha" moment, more of a "hmm, how about that" moment:

I was watching the 1998 movie Elizabeth and saw in the credits that Lily Allen plays one of the Ladies in Waiting. Backed it up and sure enough, yep.

A couple of months ago I had no idea who she was, but learned she is the sister of Alfie Allen that plays Theon Greyjoy on Game of Thrones. She's evidently a fairly popular singer over in Britain.

Like I said, not "aha", but I found it interesting.

General Jack D. Ripper: He said war was too important to be left to the generals. When he said that, 50 years ago, he might have been right. But today, war is too important to be left to politicians. They have neither the time, the training, nor the inclination for strategic thought. I can no longer sit back and allow Communist infiltration, Communist indoctrination, Communist subversion and the international Communist conspiracy to sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids

I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it.

Found out yesterday that the guy who plays Randy Quaid's Amish dad in "Kingpin" was one of the players on the 1954 Milan High basketball team that won the Indiana State championship and inspired the movie "Hoosiers."

This is an "aha" only EG wouldve found out. Totally obscure, and you probably still banged some old broad even after getting the info.

Was flipping through the Encore channels over the weekend and I came across Do The Right Thing. First person I spotted was Martin Lawrence talking with a funky lisp. He was one of a group of 4 that would pop up from time to time. But the one that had me going "aha" was when the character Buggin came on the screen. He was the one that was trying to organize a boycott. Took me a while to place the face, but once I did my jaw dropped. It was none other than Giancarlo Esposito.

Yeah, that one I knew. Don't know if anyone has posted that here or not, but this one truly had my jaw drop.
