Random movie "aha" moment (1 Viewer)

Rewatching The Usual Suspects recently, I realized that the actor who played Skip on The Sopranos (the FBI agent who was always talking to Sal in Season 2) was the driver of the cop car that they pulled a job on....NY's finest taxi service, the corrupt cops. "Do you know who the #### I am?!" "We do now, jerkoff." Yeah, that is Skip.

Saw the big indian from Fargo (the one who belts Steve Buscemi around) in Dances With Wolves during attack on the river where soldiers were killed.

One of the supporting actors in Assassination of a High School President is the kid who played 1950's Shakes (Jason Patric's character) as a kid in Sleepers. He was pretty much immediately recognizable too

When Sylvester Stallone was signed to play the lead in Beverly Hills Cop (1984), he did a lot of work on the screenplay, turning it into an action extravaganza that the studio couldn't afford. He eventually left Beverly Hills Cop and channeled his ideas for that project into this movie(Cobra).
Cannot imagine Sly as Axel.

Watched Starship Troopers not too long ago. Carver from The Wire is one of the major supporting soldiers. He had a pretty sweet quote that I wrote down that he says right before he dies, but I lost it somewhere.

Just trying to kill some bugs, sir.???

So I'm channel surfing last night, and I see Beetlejuice is playing on deep cable somewhere. So I put it on, because what the ####, it's Beetlejuice, right? Now, obviously the goth chick is a young Winona Ryder. And everyone knows the ghost with the most himself is played by none other than Michael Keaton. But while I'm watching, my girlfriend points to Adam - the other ghost dude who, along with his wife, are the central characters of the story - and asks "Isn't that one of the Baldwins?". No, baby, I say. Not even close. But I'm curious to know who he actually is, so I look it up.

Guess what? He is a Baldwin. And not one of the ancillary Baldwins, either. That's Alec ####ing Baldwin himself. Alec Baldwin was in Beetlejuice.

No ####.
Wow, no ####?

Here's one for you. Every wonder what happened to Ralphie? After A Christmas Story he did a bunch of crappy movies and some TV shows and then he sort of disappeared for a while He played the Elf Buddy in Elf but what is really nutty is that he was the executive producer of Iron Man, Four Chrstimases, The Break Up, Zathura (co produced that one). They guy is swimming in it...
More importantly, what happned to Flick?
Dunno, but Scutt Farkas went on to play Titus' little brother on the show Titus.... Even better. Go back and watch Slapshot. The Hanrahan's wife that Reg hooks up with who says she's been sleeping with women is none other than Ralphie's mom. Frontal nudity from Ralphie's mom...Seriously though, who would've thought that little Ralphie would turn out to be a major player in Hollywood...
Farkas was Jack Shepard's best man on LOST.

The guy that played George Mason on 24 was the foster dad to young John Conner in Terminator 2. He was killed on both shows. One by the terminator T1000 who was disguised as his wife and the other by flying a suicide plane mission to save the city.

Noticed this one yesterday. Jennifer Garner in Catch Me If You Can. She was the girl Frank gave a forged check to for some happy time.

Maybe this is common knowledge, and maybe this was posted earlier in this thread, but I was reading a story about the anniversary of "To Kill A Mockingbird" and it mentioned that Boo Radley was played by Robert Duvall in his first film role. :lmao:

Yes, the Black Russian joke would not have worked as well.

Yup, pretty much common knowledge. Why are you shocked?

Here is on, that I made sure to read every damned post in this thread before mentioning....

The actor who plays Dan Dority, in HBO's DEADWOOD, is none other then the autistic brother Warren, from There's Something About Mary.

Was watching Krull recently...because...well, there's really not a good reason to watch Krull.

Anyway, the redeeming quality is that Liam Neeson is part of the gang that goes to attack the space alien guy.

Two years later he plays 'Gawain' in Excalibur, one of my favorite movies of the early 80's.

Really? I have watched Deadwood at least three times all the way through and never even suspected that.Awesome

Watching "The Pacific" again and a voice stuck out but not the look of the guy. IMDB'ed him and "Hoosier" in some of the episodes is "Cooper" from Eurotrip. No long hair and a few years older but its him. This isn't where I parked my car.

Oh, come on. Next you'll tell me that the liberal funnyman played an action hero in Cold War spy movies as a younger man.

Sorry, I'm not buying it.

I saw Robin Hood two nights ago (it was two dollar Tuesday). Anyway, 12 way through, I had the aha, this is the prequel. 5 minutes later, I had the aha, this movie sucks.

Guess what? She is Davis. And not the Tootsie, Fetch, or The Accidental Tourist supporting actress Davis roles either. That's Geena ####### Davis herself in a staring role. Geena Davis starred in Beetlejuice.

No ####.

And I think the sand worm was in Tremors.

I got this one, Shuke.Oh, Bull####!

That was advertised a lot when the movie came out, Alias was huge then. They made it a big deal she was in the movie and it turns out she only has like a 5 minute scene.

Lots of hot chicks with smaller roles that went on to something else:

Ellen Pompeo (Grey's Anatomy) is the stewardess that he gives the locket to and loses his virginity to.

Elizabeth Banks (Scrubs, lots of Judd Apatow movies) is a teller that teaches him all about forging checks

Amy Adams (hot redhead from Talladega Nights and bunch of other stuff) is the nurse he almost marries

Think there's a few others I'm missing.

I watched "Made" Sunday night on IFC, which was funnier than I remembered. Anyway the simpering hotel service guy who gets abused by Vince Vaughn was Sam Rockwell. He'd done bigger stuff prior (like Galaxy Quest and Green Mile), but I had totally forgotten he was in Made (uncredited to boot).
