Rank the Star Wars Installments (3 Viewers)

Clone Wars is a large commitment but Rebels is a much shorter show.

All indications are that if you want to get the most out of the upcoming tv series, having watched at least Rebels will help imo.
I watched Rebels first but there are some Clone Wars references and callbacks so definitely watch Clone Wars first if you can.  There are quite a few episodes that feel like filler in both but overall both really good.  The final 4 Clone Wars episodes are spectacular

I was not putting down Clone Wars by any stretch, I loved it.

I was just noticing that when people have not watched the TV series, the common complaint is that they don't have enough time.  There is a massive 133 episodes in Clone Wars.

However, if people have the time, of course I agree Clone Wars first followed by Rebels.

1- Rogue One/New Hope- I consider it one movie now.  But this was the one that kicked it off.  Saw it 24 times in the theater on it's original run.  No other movie comes close to having the impact that this one did for me.  Rogue One really grew on me after the second and third viewing and really like the "war-movie" feel of it.  Excellent lead-in to a New Hope.
2- Empire- Just excellent in all phases.
3- Mandalorian- Really captures the true Star Wars feel in ways that I thought were lost.  The emotions felt on the last episode were fantastic.  Ashoka's episode was just as amazing to me.
4- Return of the Jedi- Yeah, the adult in me rolls my eyes at the Ewoks, but the rest is great.
5- Phantom Menace- Not a fan of Jar Jar, but the Maul/Qui-Gon/Kenobi battle makes the movie for me.
6- Force Awakens- Yes, it's pretty much a New Hope re-do, but it did leave a ton of possibilities that could happen.  Too bad the other two couldn't capatilize.  Good for nostalgia at the time.
7- Solo- I liked the movie.  Not great, not not near as bad as the reviews.
8- Revenge of the Sith- Seeing Anakin's downfall makes the movie.  Anakin vs Kenobi was awesome.
9- The Rise of Skywalker- The last 20 minutes was totally awesome, but the rest felt disjointed and really not a great story on many levels.
10- Clone Wars- I haven't seen most of them, but season 1 and 2 are tough to slog through as an adult.
11- Attack of the Clones- I can watch it on a rainy Saturday afternoon, but I don't make it a point to put it on.
12- Rebels- I haven't watched it at all.
13- The Last Jedi- Leia's spacewalk, the casino, Luke's reaction's on Rey's arrival, Poe's X-Wing vs Star Destroyed scene REALLY destroyed that movie for me.  The Hyper Space jump was the one redeeming scene.
14-The Holiday Special- Just horrible.

If I were to show someone for the first time, it would go in this order:
1- Rogue One/New Hope- Really does the best job at laying the groundwork for the entire SW Universe
2- Empire- For the plot twist of the century
3- The prequels in order- In order to show how Anakin becomes Vader and Luke/Leia are born
4- Return of the Jedi- Return to original series to wrap up that trilogy
5- The Mandalorian- Gives good insight to what happens after the Emperor is thrown down the shaft
6- The Force Awakens- To show there is more.
No need to show more at this point.  You've seen the most of the best of the franchise.  Just my two cents....

All that said, I am super stoked for the Ashoka, Kenobi and Boba Fett series that are coming as well as the Rogue Squad movie.  If they can capture the magic that the Mandalorian has, I'll be doing a big happy dance.

For those who have not yet seen it, a special New Years treat.

Wow that was pretty amazing.  Pros - Walrus Man dancing & Leia singing.  Cons - Grandpa Wookie's fantasy & holo-chess circus (though still better than a pod race).

I think Rise of Skywalker gets a bad rap.  It's got a lot of really, really good stuff in there but a couple of significant fails keep it from being elite.  Similar with Force Awakens - if they do something cool with Snoke and his backstory in either (even better both) movies they would rival Empire.

Loved Rogue One and would have it above the others if I weren't a kid when the first two came out but those were so iconic to me at that age.  It was pretty predictable but there are only so many plausible ways to tell that story.

Revenge of the Sith is similarly a pretty good story-telling but it's absolutely ruined by the trash that is Haden Christensen's acting.  Both initial trilogies were kind of on the cheesy side, sure, but he was just awful.

1. Empire

2. A new hope

3. Return

4. Rogue

5. Force Awakens

6. Sith

7. Phantom

8. Clones

9. Last Jedi (hated what they did to luke and having him toss saber and not have his green one for the fake fight)

10. Rise (this ruined the sequels more than last jedi because it made them all pointless).

My daughter and I just wrapped up Clone Wars. I agree, the last season was pretty good in general, but the last 4 episodes were fantastic. The way it ended...wow.

I liked phantom for several reasons

1.  Terrific antagonist in Darth Maul

2.  Very well casted with neeson, mcgregor, Portman etc

3.  Didn’t try to recreate the original trilogy

4.  Updated CGI over original trilogy dated look

5.  Plot was actually pretty good

of course it wasn’t perfect with jar jar and some of the dialogue but it was good enough for me.  I was just stoked the franchise was getting an update
Maul gets unbeliveably better in Clone Wars and Rebels. I don't know what Lucas's original plan for Maul was.....but Filloni took that character off the scrap heap (literally) and made him iconic.

The Clones Wars have some of the best Star Wars there is.  I was hooked when the first episode (I saw) had Dooku choke a pirate, cause him to shoot his friend, then snap his neck.  Hell yeah.

The last 4 episodes are fantastic.  I’m ashamed to admit how many times I’ve watched “The Lawless” episode.  Maul is a awesome character.  I could go on and on.

Empire

A New Hope

The Clone Wars

Rogue One

Mandalorian

Revenge of the Sith

Return of the Jedi

Rebels

<gap>

The Phantom Menace (basically the Maul/Qui-Gon/Kenobi duel)

<giant chasm>

The rest.  Meh.  I hated the sequel trilogy.
