1- Rogue One/New Hope- I consider it one movie now. But this was the one that kicked it off. Saw it 24 times in the theater on it's original run. No other movie comes close to having the impact that this one did for me. Rogue One really grew on me after the second and third viewing and really like the "war-movie" feel of it. Excellent lead-in to a New Hope.
2- Empire- Just excellent in all phases.
3- Mandalorian- Really captures the true Star Wars feel in ways that I thought were lost. The emotions felt on the last episode were fantastic. Ashoka's episode was just as amazing to me.
4- Return of the Jedi- Yeah, the adult in me rolls my eyes at the Ewoks, but the rest is great.
5- Phantom Menace- Not a fan of Jar Jar, but the Maul/Qui-Gon/Kenobi battle makes the movie for me.
6- Force Awakens- Yes, it's pretty much a New Hope re-do, but it did leave a ton of possibilities that could happen. Too bad the other two couldn't capatilize. Good for nostalgia at the time.
7- Solo- I liked the movie. Not great, not not near as bad as the reviews.
8- Revenge of the Sith- Seeing Anakin's downfall makes the movie. Anakin vs Kenobi was awesome.
9- The Rise of Skywalker- The last 20 minutes was totally awesome, but the rest felt disjointed and really not a great story on many levels.
10- Clone Wars- I haven't seen most of them, but season 1 and 2 are tough to slog through as an adult.
11- Attack of the Clones- I can watch it on a rainy Saturday afternoon, but I don't make it a point to put it on.
12- Rebels- I haven't watched it at all.
13- The Last Jedi- Leia's spacewalk, the casino, Luke's reaction's on Rey's arrival, Poe's X-Wing vs Star Destroyed scene REALLY destroyed that movie for me. The Hyper Space jump was the one redeeming scene.
14-The Holiday Special- Just horrible.
If I were to show someone for the first time, it would go in this order:
1- Rogue One/New Hope- Really does the best job at laying the groundwork for the entire SW Universe
2- Empire- For the plot twist of the century
3- The prequels in order- In order to show how Anakin becomes Vader and Luke/Leia are born
4- Return of the Jedi- Return to original series to wrap up that trilogy
5- The Mandalorian- Gives good insight to what happens after the Emperor is thrown down the shaft
6- The Force Awakens- To show there is more.
No need to show more at this point. You've seen the most of the best of the franchise. Just my two cents....
All that said, I am super stoked for the Ashoka, Kenobi and Boba Fett series that are coming as well as the Rogue Squad movie. If they can capture the magic that the Mandalorian has, I'll be doing a big happy dance.
