Ravens at Chargers (1 Viewer)

Own Mathews in 2 leagues....out of it in both thanks in part to his bad year. Against him in 2 other leagues today. Naturally...he's gonna go off for 150 combined yards and 2 TDs.

 
Danario push-off penalty was annoying. Good to see him involved early though.

(It's his second penalty of the game -- he was flagged with a false start on the very first play of the game too.)

Is Flacco really going to get franchised or get a contract for top 10 QB money? It's hard for me to see it. Especially when rookies have performed so well over the past few years and with the rookie pay scale at significantly reduced cost. Why wouldn't the Ravens just let Flacco walk if he won't sign a lesser paying contract and draft a replacement?

 
Brilliant move by the Chargers to complete a third down pass 2 yards short of the first down and get out of bounds, preserving more time for Flacco.

Not really his fault... When a def only has to gameplan for one guy, it is hard for that guy to get going... I completely blame Flacco - he is just sooooo bad!

I'd blame Cam Cameron first. Flacco isn't elite but he also isn't terrible. I'd rather Flacco than Freeman, Ponder, perhaps even Cutler. Heck, look what Alex Smith was able to do with a good game caller. Flacco is put in a position to be something he isn't and they ignore Rice.

what rookies are you speaking of? No rookie QB is leading this team deep into the playoffs in next years draft.
 
The Ravens are such a crappy road team, and today is proof...struggling against a Chargers teams that has been mediocre lately.

what rookies are you speaking of? No rookie QB is leading this team deep into the playoffs in next years draft.

QB's I'd rather have than Flacco:Henne, Weeden, Alex Smith, Tannehill, Fitzpatrick, Russel Wilson, Sam Bradford, & just about any QB in the SEC Conference.Anyone left off the list is just obvious.

I would not take Flacco over Freeman for any dollar amount on Earth.

Down 10, it will be interesting to see how involved Rice is in the second half, but he has had a bunch of touches thus far.

I don't know what rookie QBs they could be positioned to draft this year. My comment referred to success we've seen from rookie QBs in recent years.Is Flacco enough better than a prospective rookie QB to command an extra $10M+ per season? Is his performance this season enough to justify top 10 QB money in a long term deal? That would commit Baltimore to him for several years. Is his current level of performance sufficient, is it what they are looking for for the next several years? Or are we expecting that at some point he is suddenly going to get better? He has 13 TD passes this year. He has a QB rating of 87.1. Is this not the epitome of average performance?

I posted this in the injury thread:Chargers ILB Donald Butler left Sunday's game against the Ravens with a groin injury.Butler exited in the second quarter after chasing Dennis Pitta in coverage. Coming into the game, Butler had missed just two defensive snaps on the season. He'd be a key loss to the defense. Special teams player Andrew Gachkar replaced Butler on defense. Nov 25 - 5:32 PMJust started watching this game now (as Saints-49ers at the half)...I have not seen him in there, however. Gachkar in there, and just made the tackle.

rice is the #6 RB in my league right now. some of you guys act as if he's getting 35 yards a week. geez.

Couldn't agree more! I don't think he has earned the money he is demanding.

Just wondering what your idea of success is? Dalton, RGIII, and Wilson are the only QB's higher than Flacco QBR wise with less than 4 years experience. Flacco at times has been good and yes, at other times has you shaking your head. Would I give him a big contract? No. 3 year deal max. He has 13/7 TD/INT and has done a decent job at times. I dont and never expected Flacco to be a big time QB but I think he could be a good game manager. I do think the Ravens should draft a QB next year. The offensive line needs help and the defense isnt what it used to be. Good thing about this year is I dont see any team in the AFC that cannot be beaten. NE could be the only exception. Houston hasnt been lights out recently nor has Denver. Bringing this up because I think Baltimore can still go deep with Flacco at the QB spot this season and next.The QB draft class coming up isnt that good so yes... Im resigning Joe or Im basically rebuilding if I let him walk which is exactly what the vets would think. Almost guarantee if Baltimore doesnt resign Flacco both Lewis and Reed are gone.Realistically... not a lot of options out there. :shrug:
