Ray Rice video of KO punch released (1 Viewer)

hey, if not a honda this is fun

poor ray rice...always gfetting the raw end of the deal...oh wait....

The same judge and prosecutor who let professional football star Ray Rice avoid a trial after beating his wife unconscious are pushing forward with the prosecution of Shaneen Allen, a single mother who carried a gun into New Jersey without realizing her Pennsylvania permit didn't apply there.

Allen, a mother of two from Philadelphia, was driving in New Jersey last fall when she was pulled over by a police officer. She informed the officer she had a handgun in her purse and a Pennsylvania license-to-carry permit, at which point the officer arrested her and charged her with a felony for unlawful possession of a weapon, because New Jersey does not recognize out-of-state gun permits.

Allen tried to avoid a trial and jail time by applying to a pre-trial intervention program in New Jersey for first-time offenders. Ray Rice, the Baltimore Ravens running back who knocked his then-fiancee unconscious during an altercation in Atlantic City in February, was accepted into the program in May.

But Superior Court Judge Michael Donio and New Jersey District Attorney Jim McClain, the same judge and prosecutor who allowed Rice to avoid prosecution, denied Allen's application to the program on Wednesday.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports:

Allen, 27, cried for a moment in the hallway with her son Naiare and his father after a judge denied her motion to dismiss weapons charges filed against her in October and refused to overturn a prosecutor's decision to deny her entry into a first-time-offender diversion program.
So Allen walked back into court, turned down a plea deal that would have given her a 3 1/2-year sentence and decided to go to trial in October, hoping a jury would use some common sense and not send a working mother of two to prison for not knowing New Jersey's gun laws.

Allen has no criminal record, and she claims she bought the gun for self-defense after being robbed. Her trial is scheduled for October.

She did hit him first.......
I don't have time to read the 12 pages in this thread already, but it is as simple as this. I am quoted in other threads that this video will come out eventually and that it will show that she assaulted him first. This video from TMZ has be HIGHLY ALTERED to make Ray Rice look worse. She assaulted him first but they fudged that portion of the video. Let's hope Ray can land on a team like the Colts.
Gotta be schtick, right?
No. TMZ jacked this video up with rewinds and skips. Did you watch the video?
:lmao:

I don't know of any employer that pays as much as the NFL that wouldn't fire an employee who was caught on video committing a felony assault. The team that he was with fired him, which is reasonable in any workplace, since the PR would not be profitable for the employer. Why is this news to some? Everyone knows this is a business at the end of the day.

Just like any of us, if we were fired for such a thing, he'll have a chance to get hired by another team when/if he can convince someone he won't commit another similar act.

Of course, he's in the media spotlight, so it'll be more difficult. And he makes millions per year, which will counterbalance that.

A Ravens player told Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report that any support Rice had in the locker room had evaporated.

“I don’t think he has very much support now at all,” the player texted. “I think it’s gone.”

The player said Rice told teammates initially that he was defending himself from an attacking Janay Palmer — such that that matters — and the video released this morning contradicts that flimsy attempt at justification.

Thats a big deal and could spell his end in Baltimore
Yes, huge. He is getting it from all angles. His team, other teams' players, NFL, presumably NFLPA behind closed doors, the public.
And there you go

and now the NFL has suspended Rice indeifintiely....
That's interesting. It's a more intricate situation than the termination. Hope they have a presser as I wonder if there's NFLPA support or even Ray Rice support for it.

"Commissioner Roger Goodell: Based on the new video evidence that became available today, Ray Rice is indefinitely suspended."

[sarcasm]

but

how can we be outraged at how unfair it is for Rice then?

we REALLY want to defend him, he only knocked out 1 woman 1 time and hypothetically maybe she deserved it, besides we all knew he knocked her out, though it may have been the hand rail, hard to tell in the altered video

[/sarcasm]

(i think i captured all of it)

Oh my.

:lmao:

As I said in the FFA thread what did the video show that wouldn't have already been assumed?

She was knocked out. This is even more embarrassing for the Ravens that they had to see the video to do this.

Good thing Ray Lewis killed those people before twitter.
The video was a lot worse then just hearing he knocked her out. Once she went down you saw his utter lack of any regard for how she was. Then he carries her like a sack to get her out of the way. There is no possible way you could see that video and believe that was the first time he hit her.

Make fun of someone's fantasy football decisions and I think you have it covered. Oh, and the altered video conspiracy.

now THIS is interesting

wonder what the NFLPA will do
They will probably pay a lot of attention to what their members want them to do before acting, if they act at all. I doubt many players want the union to go balls-to-the-wall defending the guy for what he did in that video.
i would hope so, but they tend to not want to let the league have extra leeway on anything

man, defending rice could make them look awful though

Yeah, the idea that TMZ is hiding some video evidence to avoid publicity for a celebrity or organization is really, really out there. Everyone knows your secret is safe with TMZ... :tinfoilhat:

With players mouthing off publicly today about Rice belonging in jail, with teammates saying he's lost the Ravens locker room, there has to be a ton more players thinking privately that they're glad he's gone. There's going to be little player support for the NFLPA defending Rice.

ok

:tinfoilhat:

any chance Rice already knew this was the consequence if the video came out?

NFL/Team: We'll 2 game you, but if that video comes out you are screwed, and you won't fight it, deal?
Rice: yup, i am good

Heads need to roll in the NFL office too. Rice is scum, but he has paid twice. No way NFL didnt see this video before and have the chance to do the right thing initially. Truth needs to come out.

Are you suggesting the NFL broke into the evidence locker and watched the video?

This is right around the corner....

IF they did not see the video and IF he misrepresented what was said that is their out

now, the question is DID they see the video, and if not did they choose not to see it?

hopefully those questions get answered

the teammate report does seem to imply Rice's copping to this was a much different story than the tape told

He's suggesting that any of the following are true:

(1) the NFL saw it and is lying, and

(2) if TMZ can get it, then the NFL should have gotten it

and then add the Peter King stuff into the mix and you've got yourself some sorting out to do.

And trotting his fiance/wife/punching bag in front of Goodell probably reinforced Rice's (obviously understated) version of events.

You are dumb enough to believe TMZ can get this footage but the NFL cant?
Well

as much as i think the nfl may have seen this.....

TMZ can do things which the nfl cannot, like pay someone for it

Huh? Why do you think the NFL can't pay for this? Based on what MLB did with Biogenesis, I don't think there's any reason the NFL couldn't pay. It's not like the video would be used in a court of law.

true, though i am not convinced the MLB acted ethically there, but i guess if they got away with it

The #ravens only released Rice because they were forced to. They deserve no praise and need to repudiate their past handling of incident
past handling
I don't agree with this either. While they certainly should be criticized for how they handled this previously, they do, IMO, deserve praise for how it was handled this morning. Actually, while I predicted they would cut him, I thought it would take about a day or two. Their speed impressed me.

The Ravens front office aren't bad guys; they didn't commit this crime. They're good guys who made the wrong decision in the past and now they're making the right one. I give them credit for that.

One of the keys here is whether mass-media stays with the story. If they do...and I believe they will; I mean it's leading CNN right now so this story is mainstream.....then get ready for Goodell to be placed on the defensive big-time.

What does that mean? The media (and as a result the public) will want all the evidence in the world that shows the NFL tried and failed to get that video.

I think you're conflating issues. Of course MLB didn't act ethically; I'd be shocked if the NFL acted ethically in its investigations either. All I'm saying is that I'd be willing to bet a lot of money that the NFL doesn't have some kind of self-imposed rule against buying materials pertaining to its investigations. The NFL either saw the video or put its head in the sand.

TMZ is the cockroaches that follow the Kardashians to the convenience store..........The NFL is a multi Bajillion $ operation.
