I am starting Lindsay over him in both my leagues (dynasty and redraft both PPR) and I did not even have to think about it. Even if it backfires......how can’t you not start Lindsay over him at this point? Lindsay is being used like a borderline RB1 through two weeks while Collins has had terrible game scripts thru two weeks.

I don’t blame week 1 on Collins. Easy to see it was a blow out and no reason to use him much. But week two the script stunk. I still really like Collins long term this season. But this match-up is brutal and Lindsay is producing.

Yeah Harbaugh is one of those idiots that gets enamored with RBs that don't put the ball on the turf.

Is it? Chris Carson went 7 for 51 week one, and 102 year old Marshawn went 18 for 65 with a TD last week. Collins is more talented than either at this point; if he gets decent touches (big if)  I think he'll do fine.

It's too early in the season to get cute. Don't want Collins on my bench for his big game.

Lindsay is due for a bad game. He's not going to rip off a 50 yarder each week, especially with his recent rise. Teams are going to start scheming against him.

If we know of him, the Ravens are aware now too. Just a hunch that this will be a good week for Collins in a competitive game.

Eh, to my recollection the Ravens were down 2 touchdowns the majority of the game.

 
Just keep in mind that we don't really know what the Ravens O should look like yet. We've seen a game which was a blowout and we had another game where the Ravens were down big early and were racing to catch up. That goes for John Brown and Buck Allen too I guess.

What about Crabtree?  He's been a major disappointment, but I'm holding hoping for better weeks.

 
I am buying on the cheap right now. Dixon got hurt, game scripts have been weird. I have no expectation that he's a RB1 but I need a plugger. 

 
Ravens are favored big time this weekend. I think you hold him,start him one more time, keep if good, cut his #### if bad.you're pot committed at this point

 
Starting Chris Thompson (PPR) over Collins this week.  Collins is a hold in my opinion and still feel confident he will play to his adp.  

 
I have this gut instinct he's going to go off this week, yet I can't seem to avoid feeling like I'll bench him in lieu of some other great options for this week ( Gio, Clement, DJ or Cooks ).

This was the turning point for me. Was actually glad week 2 was a dud because it created the buy low opportunity I was looking for after the Dixon injury. I really thought Dixon would challenge for touches. Even though Buck is getting some touches, the talent discrepancy between the two is such that I think they'll have to lean on Collins, especially in close games.

Pretty much sums it up with a variable of other guys like Lindsay or Breida, a Cooks, T.Y., Fitz types. 

I'm playing him though...I think. Bloom was high on this guy and now he's tempered to a low end RB2 or Flex material and some even show him on the bench if you use their own MyFBG tool.

He's got more snaps and targets than Brown. I think Crabtree will be just fine this year.

I did not look at targets, and honestly im a little surprised.....

I think some of Crabbys success in Oakland was due to him being a security blanket for Carr......Im not convinced Carr is going to be the guy there.

50 and a teeter would be nice.....prolly be 50 and a teeter every other game....like you said, not bad.

Ok back to Alex Collins....sorry to hi-jack

Acquired him this week from the Mixon owner for Funchess and Gio. Standard league. Have 2 other offers for him on the table. Think he’s a great buy low.

 
Looked back and noticed that Collins ourscored Buck by 16 points last year in our league. Currently ahead of Collins so far this year. It’s not sexy, but prob could have had Buck as the last pick of the draft and had the same production as a 3/4 pick  :(

ETA: I don’t have either just stating an observation. I almost pulled the trigger on Collins but he went a hair earlier.

I think the ADP argument is a bit weak. Of course the point totals are a bummer at the moment but at least you can have a little peace of mind starting AC as your RB2/Flex as you know he’ll get majority touches. 

Starting Buck in that spot is terrifying, knowing he’s going to get you low single digits without a TD. It can be argued that he’s getting them now and that it might not change, but I think we can all agree that the TD production isn’t sustainable over the course of the season.

Buck out-snapped Collins (54% to 49%) for the first time yesterday but what's interesting is that their target shares are trending in opposite directions. Buck has seen 16%, 13% and 10% of the targets where as Collins has seen 3%, 7% and 10% respectively. And, of course, Collins was utilized 22 times to Bucks 10 this week.

You also could have been starting Buck over David Johnson or Kareem Hunt.  But it's unlikely that Buck will continue his pace for 20 TDs with only 9 touches per game.

Buck is good at everything except for moving with the ball in his hands.

Ugh.  Flex play at best it seems and game script can mean bust.  Not the RB2 I was hoping for.  Thought coming out of camp was that he had virtually no competition for snaps and a good shot at the lion’s share.  

I guess touch share is encouraging.  Although I’m sure Jim wants to get his “elite” back, Buck, some more touches.  You dont leave upper echelon talent untapped like that. Good gravy...

 
Collins is putting up what I need from him on a weekly basis as my RB2/Flex. 

Allen is stealing touches - ok. Seems like it’s clear who the better RB is, and IMO Collins will continue to grow as Baltimore sees the results. Part of it is regaining  coach’s trust with regard to fumbles, IMO. 

This is the 2nd game where Collins hasn’t put the rock on the ground. 

Allen will continue to be utilized in the passing game, but IMO Collins will soon absorb the majority of rushing touches.

while that limits his PPR value, and makes him a bit game-script dependant, imo most weeks he’ll be at least a RB2/Flex. 

I feel like a lot of the grousing / complaining about his production is due to unrealistic preseason expectations. Some experts sold Collins as the back to own in Baltimore, which was accurate, provided expectations were realistic. Expecting the upside of a true “feature back” was always wishful thinking, and his role is why he was there in the 4th round. 

I’d love to see what Collins can do with 25 touches a week & no Allen to vulture his receptions, but barring injury that’s just not realistic.

Through 3 games, he's on pace for

619 Rushing Yards, 37 catches, 357 receiving yards, 11 TD's

Obviously the yardage totals are disappointing, but I think we can reasonably expect the rushing yards to improve. 

He's playable at this point.  I feel better about starting him than I do Drake.  Ajayi has a lot of competition and injuries are popping up. For a late 3rd, early 4th round back, I'm not devastated just yet.

This comes from above. Harbaugh believes that Buck Allen is an elite player.  :loco:

In general I think the Ravens are a pretty well run organization. Then there is this preventing that from being a slam dunk.

On the last TD, both Allen and Collins were in the game and Allen gets the carry from the 6 inch line.  Collins went in motion.  Very odd play call.  Hard to criticize since it worked, but sucks for us Collins owners.  

John definitely loves him some Buck...............

That’s about my expectation for him this year as a floor, and I believe there’s room for growth.

so if you’d told me before the season I could spend a 4th round pick on a RB with a floor of 1000 APY & 11 TDs with 37 receptions, I’d gladly draft him where I did.  :shrug:

And I still believe he’s going to eventually get the lion’s share of touches - feels like every week he has a shot to have a breakout performance. 

If I didn’t own him I’d probably be trying to buy low.

I just bought him straight up for Marvin Jones.  We'll see how it works out, but I like his situation and unless he has ball security issues, I think he will get a larger share of the goal line work as the season progresses.  He's just a better player and talent usually wins out.
