Not necessarily. Joe Mixon knocked out a woman, got drafted, and later got a fat contract. If Kamara beat up a man that’s not a career killer - if he can still put help a team win, of course. If he’s lost a step, he’ll be out of the league.Welp, that'll do it for him.
Me either. I dealt him 2 years ago because I was worried what life after Brees looked like in NOS & (it was a decent deal that suited my team). Here we go again. No shares by meYou can give millions to someone but they are what they are. It surely doesn’t make them more than what they are.
Why? Are there not clubs in other cities? Does domestic violence only happen in Las Vegas? All the things that have happened in Vegas this year happened because grown men made very very bad and dumb choices. Not to excuse whatever Kamara has done, but boy we have a lot of evidence that maybe football in Vegas was a mistake.
You were never in a bar fight in your twenties? Here we go again. No shares by meYou can give millions to someone but they are what they are. It surely doesn’t make them more than what they are.
Well, it didn't get the name sin city for no reason. Why? Are there not clubs in other cities? Does domestic violence only happen in Las Vegas? All the things that have happened in Vegas this year happened because grown men made very very bad and dumb choices.
I lived in LV for 5 years and never once beat somebody up or got a DUI, its about the character of the person who is doing it not the city....
I've never been in a bar fight. The only fight I was ever in as an adult was when my ex-wife was working as a manager of a fast food joint and she ask a guy to leave because he was being verbally abusive and he threatened her. We went at it at that point. You were never in a bar fight in your twenties?
Well maybe you didn’t go out in your twenties a lot - but seeing fights break out in a crowded bar where people have been drinking wasn’t uncommon. I found your “judgement” of Kamara a little condescending and demeaning- especially when we have no idea what happened. Maybe he was also defending his girlfriend from some drunken fool.I've never been in a bar fight. If that is the case, then I stand with Kamara. Otherwise, I see no reason for adults to get into fights in a bar. Keyword "adults".Well maybe you didn’t go out in your twenties a lot - but seeing fights break out in a crowded bar where people have been drinking wasn’t uncommon. Not saying there isn't temptation or vices there, that's a given - I have seen it in beforehand and aftermath, even folks recovering from those same vices that became addicts.Well, it didn't get the name sin city for no reason.
Of course, it is the people, not the city's fault, but Vegas has the reputation where some people act stupid when they are there. You know, "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas". I've been to Vegas 3 times as a young man and never thought once about getting into trouble, or allowing it to happen. I drank my fair share while I was there too.Not saying there isn't temptation or vices there, that's a given - I have seen it in beforehand and aftermath, even folks recovering from those same vices that became addicts.
What I am saying that these are well paid grown men who make a conscious bad decision that has consequences. Just like every other city in the world - I was in the military there and I saw much higher rates of DUI's, underage drinking, petty crime and very serious crime (murder/rape) in other areas of the country and world.
To blame criminal or just plain boneheaded decisions made by an individual on the city, is rather silly.
We saw something the same with Aaron Donald a few years back and people were just turning on him left and right, then the truth came out corroborated by video, so there is always that chance someone could be out for money.need details before knowing if this is a legit assault or a money grab by a barroom lowlife.
Some guy also picked a fight with Dallas Goedert last off-season I believe. If Kamara is vindicated I will stand in his corner and probably shouldn't have labeled him guilty before knowing all the facts. I will own that if he's innocent in this encounter. We saw something the same with Aaron Donald a few years back and people were just turning on him left and right, then the truth came out corroborated by video, so there is always that chance someone could be out for money.
Absolutely agree, there is that element but I have also seen that other parts of the country and world as well. I would see guys get blind out drunk in North Dakota and Northern California just as much as in Vegas (I was in Military Law Enforcement when I was in).Of course, it is the people, not the city's fault, but Vegas has the reputation where some people act stupid when they are there. Not so sure I would say "just as much as in Vegas", but yes, people get drunk everywhere.Absolutely agree, there is that element but I have also seen that other parts of the country and world as well. I was referring to the Military types, who generally have a higher sense of discipline. Overall population of general vacation goers, yes you get that mentality - and I saw some things I cannot ever unsee in Vegas....lol!Not so sure I would say "just as much as in Vegas", but yes, people get drunk everywhere.
In other words, "it's the person, not the city" regardless of the adage about what happens where.Of course, it is the people, not the city's fault, but Vegas has the reputation where some people act stupid when they are there. Very fishy from several angles.Interesting the alleged battery was committed Saturday night and Kamara was arrested after Sunday's Pro Bowl. Why did the police wait????
Too much of a hot potato?
Did someone step in and hold up the process? I'm sure it was easy enough for law enforcement to find out where he was.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
It happened at Drai's, who does after hours, at 6 am. He was identified later, and thy arrested him after the game.Interesting the alleged battery was committed Saturday night and

At the end of the day I agree. The city’s reputation doesn’t help howeverIn other words, "it's the person, not the city" regardless of the adage about what happens where.
He’s under contract for the next few years.Maybe the Bengals sign him this off season. He would be a hell of a 1-2 punch with Mixon
This will be a big thing in Vegas. Most trouble will be happening in view of some high tech cameras. We for sure need more information but one thing does worry me about
Kamara
is that he's actually locked up and not merely under investigation. Makes me think police were able to view video footage.
I would also suggest that perhaps it’s just easier to get caught in Vegas, so it gives the misleading impression that it’s the city. Why? Are there not clubs in other cities? Does domestic violence only happen in Las Vegas? All the things that have happened in Vegas this year happened because grown men made very very bad and dumb choices.

I can personally attest. Not so sure I would say "just as much as in Vegas", but yes, people get drunk everywhere.
Based on that link, it appears Kamara told a half truth. He admitted to punching the guy, but said he thought the guy was running away (which video surveillance shows is not the case). Doesn't look good for him, but he will play football again soon.@Kat_Terrell
According to the police report, the incident took place at Drai's After Dark nightclub in the Cromwell Casino around the elevators. The victim has an orbital fracture on his right eye and other injuries that are described as minor. Surveillance video matches the victim's story
More on what I believe is the police investigation: Investigation details
If all true I'm going to guess 6 games , some shine off his reputation, then all good.Doesn't look good for him, but he will play football again soon.
Yeah, that video will be huge if its release to public. I just saw report he is facing 5 years, but I doubt he gets anything close to that if its a first time offense. I don't know his past, but I feel like things would start surfacing if he had any past criminal history. If all true I'm going to guess 6 games , some shine off his reputation, then all good.
Got to see video to be sure and it's possible it's worse then a typical assault on another male. As in the part where it sounds like Kamara started attacking the guy after another friend attacked him first and was laying into a guy who was had already been hit and was down. So maybe the video is an especially bad look, the way Rices video once released made it look worse then we just heard he hit his wife. But typically society is just not going to come down on you that far when one man beats up another man and I just don't expect an outcry for his head where this to be an attack on a female.
Alvin Kamara’s arrest further illustrates the fact that the NFL in Las Vegas is a bad ideaNot to excuse whatever Kamara has done, but boy we have a lot of evidence that maybe football in Vegas was a mistake.
Which I still believe is a HUGE part of the Watson case and why he'll be playing again soon.We saw something the same with Aaron Donald a few years back and people were just turning on him left and right, then the truth came out corroborated by video, so there is always that chance someone could be out for money.
It's so weird when my hometown is used as an example of a random place.I would also suggest that perhaps it’s just easier to get caught in Vegas, so it gives the misleading impression that it’s the city.
There are cameras literally everywhere, so when Ray Rice knocks his wife around, it gets to TMZ before she’s even admitted to the hospital, whereas if he’d punched a woman in an elevator in Duluth, MN, it’s likely no one would ever know.
There’s also a sizable police presence in Vegas.
That said, IMO something like the Ruggs situation is perhaps more likely in Vegas for displays of wealth, fast cars, wide open roads where it’s very tempting to open up a brand new corvette to see what it can do.
But I’m still blaming Ruggs for that, and not the city of Las Vegas.
i’ve been to Vegas 100x and I’ve never committed aggravated assault resulting in severe bodily harm there.![]()
Maybe the Bengals sign him this off season. He would be a hell of a 1-2 punch with Mixon
Because they cant sign him.
This post is not getting the props it deserves.
No offense to Deluthians intended. It's so weird when my hometown is used as an example of a random place.
In the instance of being locked in a jail cell, their catch phrase "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" certainly does seem to apply. Its promotion of itself as essentially party central, where the normal rules don't totally apply, except they still do for everything except gambling, prostitution, and public drinking, probably more, but those seem like the main ones.
They do have a Casino in Duluth. No offense to Deluthians intended.
Growing up my dad used to use Deluth as a "middle of nowhere" example. For all I know it's a booming industrial center with a bustling night life.
