Hope he’s either declared 100% in or just out

They should wax HOU either way

Don't think there are many examples of players clearing so quickly.
OBJ seems to have cleared pretty quickly. I guess it's a matter of whether he's sick or not? Definitely not an ideal way to start the week regardless.

New rules kick in this week.  If he's vaccinated and tests negative once, he should be good to go, right?

I mean...this is absurd. If he now goes on after reading this I'm going to crush a bottle of tequila.

The #Chargers officially placed Joey Bosa, Corey Linsley, Andre Roberts, Tevaughn Campbell, Trey Marshall, Chris Rumph, and Kemon Hall on the COVID-19 reserve list. As of now, Austin Ekeler has not been placed on the list.

El oh el

There are a lot of unknowns, so anything we discuss is only speculation. We should all remember that symptoms even among the vaccinated span a wide range, and we have no insight into what Ekeler is experiencing. My wife (34), for example, only lost her taste and smell but had no other symptoms and felt fine. I (40) was sick with light flu for 2-3 days, but my energy was wiped for a week after. Some folks have worse symptoms but vaccination tends to lead to much better health outcomes, and those who are younger tend to experience fewer symptoms than those who are older.

But even if you have no symptoms they are still testing positive for 7-9 days it seems.

Confused about something: When Ekeler says, "I had to get tested every day and have two negative tests and no symptoms," is he talking about the protocol for after he tested positive?
yes, I believe that once you've tested positive that's the protocol to be able to play.

Apparently the Texans have 21 players on the Covid list.

Praying this game is moved to give Ekeler another day or two.

I don't think any of the big names on the covid list will be playing this week.  I doubt Ekeler clears and of course it is against Houston.

This year sucks.  I have a dynasty team that has the following players out.  I mean we all have our issues but good god I thought I had a shot to compete this year for a title.......I also play the #1 seed this week in the playoffs MFL has me as a 67 point dog right now.

My opening day lineup

A-Rodgers, CMC, Dalvin Cook, Ekeler, A-Gibson, Tyreek Hill, D-Hopkins, Julio Jones, Waller....................

Chargers activated Austin Ekeler from the reserve/COVID-19 list.

Ekeler missed Week 16 while on the COVID list. In his absence, Justin Jackson turned 19 touches into 162 yards. It's possible that Ekeler returns to a slightly limited role. Other players coming back from COVID have seen their snaps scaled back for a week or two. However, fantasy managers can't afford to have Ekeler on the bench for the championship week of most leagues. He'll be a slightly more risky RB1 play than usual this week.

Well exactly my thought too. Do they limit him after coming back from COVID?

And did Jackson do too good of a job in filling in and they give him more time as well.

What did the Chargers win by last week with Justin Jackson wrecking havoc on the Houston Defense?

That would be a solid reason for Jackson getting more than just a little breather action, what was the score last week?

Unless you were expecting him to tackle Rex Burkhead, not sure how that is relevant to whether Jackson earned any additional playing time.

Any word on Ekeler's practices?

Good choice of words, let me explain...

-When a player has an explosive day as a back up on a winning team or Playoff Mix and the LAC are surely that, folks were talking AFC West a couple weeks back, and KC went on a win streak which obviously torpedoed that but they can still make the Playoffs as a WC and will want their very best players to be on the field and I can find no reason why Ekeler would lose touches to JJ, had Jackson carried the LAC to victory and maybe his last catch was a game winner, etc...but it was a lot of garbage time yards as I recall, Houston was ahead by the 2nd Half of the game, in fact almost the whole game Houston was ahead.

Jackson had 11 carries in that football game, maybe he would have had 15-20 if the game script was flipped around and the Chargers had won a game they were heavily favored in.

You, me, and nobody else we are going to likely read has much time INSIDE that locker room but they struggled A LOT in the 1st Half of the game against Houston, they were never a better team with Jackson on the field so I would anticipate Ekeler to be more like Chubb was coming off a 1-week hiatus.

Maybe Ekeler should be ranked at 10 this week vs his usual Top 5 but I don't see how on earth you could possibly start talking yourself OUT of starting Ekeler this week...is he hurt or something and MoP's showing early signs of memory loss? I apologize if I overlooked something but this seems like an easy autostart...HOWEVER  The Eye is not in MoP's corner.

Exactly.

And the LAC NEED this game badly. I doubt very much they are going to get cute if Ekeler is ready to go. He'll get his touches assuming he's fully recovered.

But that's the question. If he's still a bit weak then we'll see more of Jackson.

Haven't heard reports one way or the other.

All that said, if he's active, I'm starting Ekeler.

1. The Chargers are in must-win mode in this game. They must maximize snaps for their best players. Ekeler >> Jackson

2. The Chargers have had Jackson since 2018, and he has gotten at least 1 offensive touch in 36 games. They know what he is, and he is not Ekeler. Remember that HOU had a lot of defensive players out last week.

Could Jackson get the backup touches? Sure, he probably should. In the games that Ekeler played, he averaged 16.8 touches and other RBs averaged 9 touches. Those 9 touches should go to Jackson in this game. I don't see any reason why Ekeler wouldn't be expected to get his ~17 touches.

Also don’t forget Ekeler was limited in the last game he played and shared with the other two. He’s likely still recovering from his ankle.

If you don’t have other options, you could roll out JJ, but if you got this far, you probably have other options that are the main options for their team.  That is where I would look.  Last week was nice, but this week would be a complete gamble on a guy that won’t have that much opportunity to make things happen.
