I love it, to be honest. Maybe not a top 3 landing spot or anything, but no great competition, and extreme draft investment says something.
I like the landing spot too, but don't forget the Falcons used even more extreme draft investment on Pitts.

It’s a dream come true.
Falcons head coach Arthur Smith said RB Bijan Robinson is "more than a running back."
It was a common pro-Robinson argument before the NFL Draft kicked off on Thursday night -- that the all-world back could be utilized as a pass catcher as well as a dominant rusher. The Falcons, in fact, had "gauged" Robinson's ability to play slot receiver, according to The Athletic's Josh Kendall. In his final year at Texas, Robinson caught 19 of his 29 targets for 314 yards and two scores. He was 70th in running back receptions among FBS backs in 2022. "He’s an impact football player,” Smith said after the Falcons selected Robinson with the eighth overall pick. “We just feel he’s an explosive weapon. He’s a home run hitter however he gets the football in his hands.” Falcons GM Terry Fontenot mentioned "positionless football and versatility" when discussing Robinson. One of the only NFL teams with a positive rush EPA in 2022, the Falcons will surely force feed Robinson in 2023. He'll have as much fantasy upside as any back in the game. It's worth noting Smith said Thursday that Tyler Allgeier, who eclipsed 1,000 rushing yards as a rookie, would remain a "very important part" of the Atlanta offense.

I’m getting serious Marshall Faulk, LaDainian Tomlinson vibes. That offense is going to run through Bijan Robinson.Falcons head coach Arthur Smith said RB Bijan Robinson is "more than a running back."

Seems to be working for the Chargers & Eke just fine. The problem with that statement is that the league has changed A LOT since then so even if he is equal in terms of talent, his fantasy output will not approach those heights.
In 2005, 4 RBs put up over 350 fantasy points (PPR).Seems to be working for the Chargers & Eke just fine. The problem with that statement is that the league has changed A LOT since then so even if he is equal in terms of talent, his fantasy output will not approach those heights.
Worked for Henry under this same coach without the receiving profile as well.
Neither of those guys approached the heights of LT or Faulk either so I think his point stands.Seems to be working for the Chargers & Eke just fine. The problem with that statement is that the league has changed A LOT since then so even if he is equal in terms of talent, his fantasy output will not approach those heights.

In the last three seasons combined, a total of four RBs have scored more than 350. Times have changed and there will always be an outlier or two.
Could that be Bijan? I won't bet on it.
Yeah, I’m not saying Bjjan is the next Faulk or LT, but projected usage seems to point to that sort of opportunity, and the definitive statement that he’ll be used out of the slot certainly raises his floor in PPR leagues.Neither of those guys approached the heights of LT or Faulk either so I think his point stands.

Also; was one of those 4 Derick Henry?
Might have significance.

I could see him achieving their production. I’m not sure why that would be controversial.Ekeler, CMC, JT, Kamara
And if you make it a five-year sample, it's Ekeler, CMC, JT, Kamara, CMC, and CMC.Ekeler, CMC, JT, KamaraI will.In 2005, 4 RBs put up over 350 fantasy points (PPR).Seems to be working for the Chargers & Eke just fine. The problem with that statement is that the league has changed A LOT since then so even if he is equal in terms of talent, his fantasy output will not approach those heights.

It's controversial because you're essentially calling him the fantasy RB1 by doing so.I could see him achieving their production. I’m not sure why that would be controversial.Ekeler, CMC, JT, Kamara
Here’s hoping that next year you’ll be listing a 6-year sample with Bijan included.

I believe he has a very strong chance at being the fantasy RB1 in all formats. It's controversial because you're essentially calling him the fantasy RB1 by doing so.

Bijan Robinson is reportedly the early odds on favorite to win Offensive Rookie of the Year next season. Bryce Young follows Robinson for 2nd best odds, and CJ Stroud follows Young for 3rd best odds. Several scouts and coaches reportedly believe that Bijan has “real” hall of fame potential. The Falcons landed a STUD in their rookie RB

Bijan Robinson has reportedly spent the past several days training with Ja’Marr Chase. Robinson and Chase have spent time refining routes and improving footwork. These training sessions are led by “goldfeet” who has also worked with the likes of Odell Beckham, Jaylen Waddle, and Deebo Samuel. The Falcons rookie RB is ready to be a THREAT as both a runner and receiver (Via goldfeet/IG)
I think it's a sign that we will see him throw the ball this year.I still think it’s cool that Bijan is going to wear #7
Falcons signed No. 8 overall pick RB Bijan Robinson to a four-year, $21.96 million contract.
As is the case with all first-round contracts, Robinson's deal includes a fifth-year, fully-guaranteed team option. The "fully guaranteed" change has made teams less likely to exercise the fifth-year option, though Robinson will be only 24 when his comes due. Called "more than a running back" by his new head coach Arthur Smith, Robinson profiles as an immediate three-down monster in Atlanta, one worthy of a top-five pick in all formats of fantasy.

Not at all, it just was manufactured. Not like it was spontaneous to make the catch. Probably most NFL types could do that. The hardest part was catching it backhand by the tip. But heck, if I had the same size hands as those guys and those gloves, I could do that easy.![]()
It’s still a very difficult catch.
This part.Still, to be able to physically do that is something else. Not every football player can do that.
I’m excited about his receiving potential. It wasn't so much whether the average Joe could do it as opposed to your average running back and whether he could or not.
I'd venture that running back builds and strengths being what they are in the NFL (they're highly specialized), jumping and pirouetting in the air for a three sixty while coming down to grab the ball backhanded in one motion is not part of the average skill set.
They're built low and thick these days. Perfect for bouncing off of arm tackles, not so much for soaring to the sky.
