I feel like that's low regardless of how the split plays out. NY is too much of a running team to be that ineffective.Rotoballer's Josh Hayes has given Hall a 9th round redraft value on his show this morning. (Says Dalvin is 4th)

I wouldnt read too much into the $8M - they had money to burn with Rodgers dramatic pay cut and they want to give him some return for leaving the $ on the table. I see Cook/Hall splitting in the early going to keep Breece's workload manageable - but Hall taking over down the stretch. Ill take the discount. They didn't pay Cook $8.5M to be a 2nd fiddle IMHOMy initial reaction was thinking neither RB will be a top-20 guy, but after thinking about it more, I think this might be a more productive version of Jones/Dillon, an easy comp with the Rodgers/Hackett duo.
I've got Hall as RB12 and as a 3rd rounder, with Cook as RB30 and a 7th rounder. A 55-45 split with Hall likely seeing more receiving and GL work, and Cook being more of a salt the game away guy.
The signing lends some credence to the idea that even with Rodgers the Jets identity will still be run the ball and win with defense, but now they have a plan B if that fails.
I know Hall supporters don't want to hear this but I expect Hall to miss a few weeks, coach's always say their guys are going to be ready.
I could see the Jets resting Hall early and when he's fully healthy which he might already be but if he needs more rehab/time, I think the Cook signing was smart by the Jets
Disagree. If cook was coming in to be the guy he would have signed a long time ago for 8 mil. It was reported that jets and cook didn't see eye to eye on his role. 1st and foremost thank you for the replies, I wanted to digest it for more than a minute because quite frankly I enjoy reading your alls posts, especially during the season and Sunday Mornings, you guys are usually around and we use each other to bounce ideas off one another. I just had 1 of my 25+ yr Redraft leagues talk about the fact that I have to be the luckiest SOB to walk on the waiver wire at about 11:30-Noon on Sunday Morning and start making 1-Day pick ups. I can fill a Flex or 3rd WR, occasionally a TE and just plug them in for a week and cut them by Tuesday. I learned how to do that here on the boards IMHO over a long period of time.
Back to the posts, i'm not going to argue with you or play tug of war. I feel strongly that Cook is going to do well and I want to simply point to the 2020 Tampa Bay Bucs, that looks like the playbook the Jets are running right now, Rodgers might be more comfortable with Cook back there to start and they'll still use Breece Hall for some explosive plays but I think Cook is going to have more touches than you all think. He might be the Fournette they are looking for. I wasn't in the room and neither were any of you when this disagreement happened over his role...and yet they let him right into practice and he saw 1st hand what he could produce and do in that offense and I think he knew where he wanted to be.
Both of you are duly noted though and I agree about Lazard. MoP Jr was on the phone this morning on his way into work and likes to tune into the MOP Morning Podcast and he brought up Lazard and my answer was No No No No No No...and a few more after that and told him to start zoning in on Garret Wilson who is set to take the NFL by storm this year, you thought he looked good last year with that mess as a Rookie, forget it, he's a steal if you waited on WR in the 1st 2 Rounds, just get comfy with him and buckle up.
Cheers, both of you
Zack Rosenblatt
Breece Hall split out wide and was wide open on a slant. Aaron Rodgers hit him for a big gain. #Jets
Robert Saleh on Breece Hall doing 11 on 11 today: “He still can run. That’s for damn sure.”

In consideration for sure. A lot depends on league format, what pick of the 3rd round, and how your first few picks go, etc.If he is there in 3rd rounds of drafts, he has to be in consideration right? I am looking at him, Devonta Smith and Hurts/Mahomes/Allen (if one makes it)
Touches>attemptsSuch a hard guy to rank in redraft leagues. Absolutely loved what I saw from him last year. Dudes a beast. Minus Cook id feel okay. Jets were a bottom team last year with only 405 rushing attempts. The addition of Rogers is a scheme changing thing, but I don't see them being a league leader all of a sudden in attempts. Will either guy get 200 attempts?
Grabbed him 5.11 last night and felt guilty as my RB3 but **** it!I think this is a unique situation where i play in a long-standing local league with a bunch of FSU alums who love Cook...but this weekend, Breece slipped all the way to 6.06 in a 10-team PPR.
Agreed, I just took him in the 5th round after he kept falling. I had no intent of drafting him, but that was a good price.Damn, Hall is falling. I'd be perfectly ok taking him in round 4, let alone round 7.
Jets head coach Robert Saleh said the team would “be smart” with how they use Breece Hall (ACL).
Hall, coming off a 2022 ACL injury, returned to practice in the middle of August but didn’t suit up for any of New York’s preseason games. Even if Hall feels like he can take on a full workload, Saleh said, the team would be cautious in easing him back into action. Dalvin Cook, meanwhile, practiced with the Jets last week while dealing with a lingering shoulder issue. It’s worth noting that The Athletic’s Zack Rosenblatt said recently that “Hall is moving with explosiveness and looks ready to take on a bigger role in the passing game.” Cook looks likely to be the team’s lead back for at least the first couple weeks of the regular season.
If they are punting the season and don't want to play their best RB I agree. If they have Superbowl aspirations Hall will be 1a.I have no sources. My gut tells me they ride Cook into the ground and unleash Hall the following year.
I guess if u think dalvin cook is punting. I sure don't.If they are punting the season and don't want to play their best RB I agree. If they have Superbowl aspirations Hall will be 1a.I have no sources. My gut tells me they ride Cook into the ground and unleash Hall the following year.
Cook pretty much had one of his worst years last year in all of his advanced stats. He's now a year older..I do not think he will be that great this year but time will tell.I guess if u think dalvin cook is punting. I've been doing this too long to not be aware it's way more then just stats. Having said that, nearly 1400 total yards and 10 tds is one hell of a bad year.Cook pretty much had one of his worst years last year in all of his advanced stats. Volume is king my friend. Will be fun to watch it play out. I think cook is washed.I've been doing this too long to not be aware it's way more then just stats. Vikings had a terrible O-line. That can’t be overstated.Cook pretty much had one of his worst years last year in all of his advanced stats. I am ready for the Week #1 Monday Night Cook-off between Dalvin James Cook and James Dalvin Cook!

Yes/No they are pretty good in the middle and they have two competent tackles, one of whom may have legitimate upside. Unfortunately both tackles, particularly Becton don't seem like great candidates to play 17 games each. I don't think they have much depth behind them either.I got bad news for you my friend. yooooooo, how did I not know that was their middle names? That's messed up.I am ready for the Week #1 Monday Night Cook-off between Dalvin James Cook and James Dalvin Cook!

Seeing as a lot of people go by their middle name as an occasional nickname or some even as their default name, plenty of opportunity for who's-on-first shenanigans.yooooooo, how did I not know that was their middle names? Leaning towards playing him as I haven't seen much on Dalvin playing.Hall managers: You rolling him out there week one or taking a wait-and-see approach and pivoting to other options?

Jets RB Breece Hall practiced in full Saturday and will play Monday.
Hall, offensive tackle Mekhi Becton, and offensive tackle Duane Brown are listed as questionable but all got in a full practice on Saturday and are expected to play. Corner back Michael Carter II popped on the injury report Saturday with an elbow injury but does not carry an injury designation for the Jets ahead of their Monday Night Football showdown with the Bills.
Breece call rushed 10 times for 127 yards in the Jets’ Week 1 victory over the Bills, adding 20 yards on his lone reception.
Hall demonstrated his showcase explosiveness early, springing loose for an 83-yard gash early in the second quarter. He would be used sparingly following his game-long run, spelled by Dalvin Cook and Michael Carter for most of the second half. The elite athleticism was a sight for sore eyes in his first game back from a torn ACL, leaving optimism in the wake of the Cook signing.
Yes - and he's not even 100% yet. He would have easily taken that long run to the house pre-injury.They are going to have to lean heavily on him with no QB. He looks like a top 5 back. Beast
Agree that we have different estimations of the risk here. I’d rather drop a 5/6 on him, which likely means I’m not getting him. Cheers, all the best, sláinte, shalom, go get ‘em, good luck, keep on truckin’.There are no guarantees here but if I thought Hall would be at Charles level 5 weeks into the season I'd view that as well worth a third, before of course factoring in Cooks looming arrival.YesSeemed good enough 12-13 years ago for two RB's to make massive returns in similar timeframesFeels like a page ago (it was less) he was the cautiously optimistic, if not go to round 3 pick. Folks, surgery has come a long way but not a half season to 100%. I wish this news came out later so people would keep drafting him in the early third.Who do you speak of? Peterson? Charles tore his ACl in week two. ADP is essentially the exception to the rule (truly). I’m certainly not saying it’s impossible, but the odds were against it the whole time.

I'm just less certain then you that players like Charles and Peterson are exceptions to the rules, especially if we are talking younger RB's. Dobbins is the one everyone remembers the most but he had a setback that required a clean up procedure so to me he might be more the exception, and even he was pretty good in real life to close the season.
There are risks involved for sure with these major surgeries but I personally thought the price was fairly baked in for Hall, especially so for those people who participate in the national type high stake payout contests were hitting home runs takes on more importance. But for sure the risk of ACL and Dalvin is not worth a third.
Worried about stacked boxes
Worried about stacked boxes
He's going to be running into brick walls. I love Breece, but I'd pump the brakes. He only got about twelve touches last night and slowed down considerably once the Bills started stacking the box, which every team will do now.
I feel bad for Breece and Dalvin Cook. They both don't seem fully healed and they'll be asked to carry this team on their shoulders. That's a tough proposition. Good thing their running back room is four deep with talent.
I'd be shocked if both those guys were active in any given week.Worried about stacked boxes

I definitely think Carter and Abanikanda see more in the rotation going forward but Hall is the only one right now with big play ability.
Stacked boxes lead to long TDs. Think Derrick Henry, Adrian Peterson, etc. One missed tackle and they're gone. If I'm a Breece owner, I don't mind stacked boxes.Loved what I saw from him. Worried about stacked boxes and that Dallas defense on the road this week but big play capability means he's in the lineup.
