Rotoballer's Josh Hayes has given Hall a 9th round redraft value on his show this morning. (Says Dalvin is 4th)

I feel like that's low regardless of how the split plays out. NY is too much of a running team to be that ineffective.

My initial reaction was thinking neither RB will be a top-20 guy, but after thinking about it more, I think this might be a more productive version of Jones/Dillon, an easy comp with the Rodgers/Hackett duo.

I've got Hall as RB12 and as a 3rd rounder, with Cook as RB30 and a 7th rounder. A 55-45 split with Hall likely seeing more receiving and GL work, and Cook being more of a salt the game away guy.

The signing lends some credence to the idea that even with Rodgers the Jets identity will still be run the ball and win with defense, but now they have a plan B if that fails.

They didn't pay Cook $8.5M to be a 2nd fiddle IMHO
I know Hall supporters don't want to hear this but I expect Hall to miss a few weeks, coach's always say their guys are going to be ready.
I could see the Jets resting Hall early and when he's fully healthy which he might already be but if he needs more rehab/time, I think the Cook signing was smart by the Jets

I wouldnt read too much into the $8M - they had money to burn with Rodgers dramatic pay cut and they want to give him some return for leaving the $ on the table. I see Cook/Hall splitting in the early going to keep Breece's workload manageable - but Hall taking over down the stretch. Ill take the discount.

Disagree. If cook was coming in to be the guy he would have signed a long time ago for 8 mil. It was reported that jets and cook didn't see eye to eye on his role. Breece is 1a when he's ready.

1st and foremost thank you for the replies, I wanted to digest it for more than a minute because quite frankly I enjoy reading your alls posts, especially during the season and Sunday Mornings, you guys are usually around and we use each other to bounce ideas off one another. I just had 1 of my 25+ yr Redraft leagues talk about the fact that I have to be the luckiest SOB to walk on the waiver wire at about 11:30-Noon on Sunday Morning and start making 1-Day pick ups. I can fill a Flex or 3rd WR, occasionally a TE and just plug them in for a week and cut them by Tuesday. I learned how to do that here on the boards IMHO over a long period of time.

Back to the posts, i'm not going to argue with you or play tug of war. I feel strongly that Cook is going to do well and I want to simply point to the 2020 Tampa Bay Bucs, that looks like the playbook the Jets are running right now, Rodgers might be more comfortable with Cook back there to start and they'll still use Breece Hall for some explosive plays but I think Cook is going to have more touches than you all think. He might be the Fournette they are looking for. I wasn't in the room and neither were any of you when this disagreement happened over his role...and yet they let him right into practice and he saw 1st hand what he could produce and do in that offense and I think he knew where he wanted to be.

Both of you are duly noted though and I agree about Lazard. MoP Jr was on the phone this morning on his way into work and likes to tune into the MOP Morning Podcast and he brought up Lazard and my answer was No No No No No No...and a few more after that and told him to start zoning in on Garret Wilson who is set to take the NFL by storm this year, you thought he looked good last year with that mess as a Rookie, forget it, he's a steal if you waited on WR in the 1st 2 Rounds, just get comfy with him and buckle up.

In consideration for sure. A lot depends on league format, what pick of the 3rd round, and how your first few picks go, etc.

I'd probably take your above 4 players over him, but if you start out WR/WR then for sure I'd think hard about him mid 3rd round.

The addition of Rogers is a scheme changing thing, but I don't see them being a league leader all of a sudden in attempts. Will either guy get 200 attempts?

They got Garrett Wilson and a bunch of Jags in the passing game. These RB's are going to be a major factor in the passing game.

A lot of if's with these two but I think it's possible the Jets end up with the most team points from the RB position in PPR leagues. Those if's are mainly these two being healthy and how much they use a third RB when these two are healthy.

Last season the two leading teams in RB production for fantasy were the Lions and the Chargers, both almost dead even at a tad over 29 fantasy points a game. A few years ago Ekeler and Gordon hit about 34 a game in their games together and of course Kamara and Ingram are the gold standard. Rushing yardage is not really a big factor in these outputs, it's mainly how involved they are in the passing game and TD's I'll never predict a Kamara/Ingram, but I think this duo can put some heat on the other numbers but again the if's got to work out. Health and not using the other RB's often when these two are available.

For me I am way more concerned about Hall's continued recovery then Dalvin. In other words, if he's healthy, things will work themselves out. Trust that.

Agreed, I just took him in the 5th round after he kept falling. I had no intent of drafting him, but that was a good price.

I was shocked and pleased to see him going full speed without a brace on Hard Knocks last week. Non tackle drill but some of that looked full speed with cuts.

My belief is obviously NYJ 100% has Superbowl aspirations, and that's why they brought in Cook. They would be crazy not to ease Hall back in the first half of the season. I think Hall is absolutely 1A the latter half of the year. And probably 65/35 split

Yes/No they are pretty good in the middle and they have two competent tackles, one of whom may have legitimate upside. Unfortunately both tackles, particularly Becton don't seem like great candidates to play 17 games each. I don't think they have much depth behind them either.

I am partially surprised they didn't do more to bolster the offensive line the second they decided to pursue Rodgers. They brought on Cobb, and his hauntingly beautiful eyes, for Rodgers but didn't do anything really to help his protection.

Wait and see... the first 3 weeks are the toughest of the schedule I think. Even if he's performing at a decent level, I won't expect much. By week three, we'll have an idea of how recovered he is. Then his schedule opens up and I'd feel more confident. He did what he did last year in a timeshare... a lot of his games were 50/50, 60/40, 70/30... if he gets back on that pace I don't see Dalvin Cook keeping him off the field any more than that.

Hall, offensive tackle Mekhi Becton, and offensive tackle Duane Brown are listed as questionable but all got in a full practice on Saturday and are expected to play. Corner back Michael Carter II popped on the injury report Saturday with an elbow injury but does not carry an injury designation for the Jets ahead of their Monday Night Football showdown with the Bills.

Charles tore his ACl in week two. ADP is essentially the exception to the rule (truly). I’m certainly not saying it’s impossible, but the odds were against it the whole time.

There are no guarantees here but if I thought Hall would be at Charles level 5 weeks into the season I'd view that as well worth a third, before of course factoring in Cooks looming arrival.

I'm just less certain then you that players like Charles and Peterson are exceptions to the rules, especially if we are talking younger RB's. Dobbins is the one everyone remembers the most but he had a setback that required a clean up procedure so to me he might be more the exception, and even he was pretty good in real life to close the season.

There are risks involved for sure with these major surgeries but I personally thought the price was fairly baked in for Hall, especially so for those people who participate in the national type high stake payout contests were hitting home runs takes on more importance. But for sure the risk of ACL and Dalvin is not worth a third.

That's mighty efficient.

He's still not totally right. Like Zabmoni said, he houses that second carry, and maybe even the first if this was last year before the injury.

But it's not last year and what we've got is this one.

Stacked boxes lead to long TDs. Think Derrick Henry, Adrian Peterson, etc. One missed tackle and they're gone. If I'm a Breece owner, I don't mind stacked boxes.
