RB Breece Hall, NYJ (3 Viewers)

Off to a bad start this week in a league I played both Jennings and Deebo, which of course seems rather dumb in hindsight but what's done is done.

Got one lineup call to make, one spot left and it's between Hall, Amari, Zay or Swift.

Need a big game to stay alive. Zay gives me a hookup with Lamar which could be a formula for big chunk play points but will they throw the ball much against the Giants? I doubt it. I also have Hurts/Devonta for another hookup but that’s a bad matchup and everything sounds like it’s feed malco Brown week. Swifts been down, but has has some big games which is what I need and no Roschon could help. Amari has the Lions in a potential shootout and is coming off a 14 target game but Coleman and Kincaid are back. And then Hall.

I don't care so much about floor. I'm trying to identify best possible ceiling after my crummy start. Leaning Amari right now, with Breece second but ask me again in 5-10 minutes and I might give you a different answer.

Amari and its not even close

Three hours of agony deciding between Hall, Tracy, or McCormick.

Don't see any sign of "pitch count"...yet. Minus that kind of info, going to be hard to sit Breece today.

What's worse? Starting him and getting 6 points? Or benching him and he goes off for 30?

Had McCormick in all week but with the significant change in the FBG rankings for Hall I'm going to roll Hall.

Not seeing a huge change in projections but Tremblay/Wood/Bloom/Freeman universally pick Hall over McCormick.

It's more split between Hall and Tracy.

Hall projected between 10 and 13.9 in PPR.

Hall's aggregate projection in the 5-second primer jumped up a couple of points over the weekend.

I'd go Hall over Tracy.

In half point PPR I’m benching him for Pacheco. Don’t feel great about it, but the deciding factor is the aforementioned situational clarity. I can see three headed monster today for Jets. Sucks because if Hall blows up on my bench, I’ll likely lose.

Not if Pacheco blows up in your lineup :)

I’d rather lose with him in than get cute with some dart throw WR or RB. Yeah, might be wrong but also which dart throw of multiple dart throws do you choose?

Riding Hall. Godspeed fellow folks starting him.
That is generally good advice without knowing more information other than he's playing.

Active today.
Woke up super late, grabbed my phone to check actives right after they came out and a Jets beat writer I follow had tweeted he was INACTIVE. I pulled him out of a few lineups and went about my day. Was not until about 30 minutes ago I saw he edited that tweet. I wonder how many people made lineup changes and then never checked back?

That happened to Herbert a little while back.

Looks like he may have done you a favor.

I hope Hall & Garrett Wilson get out of that @@@@ organization. I have them both in dynasty but if Rodgers comes back, I will do everything to get rid of them.

So what's the deal here. Reports say he did not practice but is not on the injury report?
Today was a walk through. He’s good to go.
I hope he is. He also might have the squeaky wheel scenario this week. Apparently he posted on social media "#Free20." Let's see... Hopefully he does what he did against Washington last year.
Better yet, what he did to the Patriots at the end of last year.

Anyone see the practice report?

Actually more interested in I. Davis.
Same as yesterday for all 3 RB's.
So Breece didn’t practice again? He was a DNP Wednesday.
He's not on the injury report. Should be good to go.
Does he even need to practice ? Its not like they use him in the game plan
Exactly, they will give him 9 or 10 touches.

I would expect a "hold in" this summer.

Since he was a 2nd rounder, this is the last year of his deal. I'm guessing the Jets will be VERY hesitant to pay a RB big money with the QB situation unsettled and 2 talented MUCH cheaper backs on the roster. (I dont think Allen or Davis are great talents, but they're capable pieces) And honestly....Breece just hasn't been quite the player it looked like he'd be before the injury.

Plenty of reasons for that (bad Qb situation, shaky o-line for a decent portion of his career) but he simply hasn't proven himself to be worth a big long-term deal. The breakaway speed and ability to make guys miss hasn't come back post-injury.

Please lawd let him go to a different team.

Be like Barkley moving to the Eagles.

Agreed - I can see them dealing Hall and going with the 2 other RBs who have shown upside at a much lesser price point the next 3 yrs.

Be like Barkley moving to the Eagles.

I was one of the biggest Breece Hall believers on this board after his truncated rookie year. But he's nowhere near Saquan as a talent....at least not anymore (and probably ever).

Just doesn't make enough people miss....consistently mis-reads blocks and leaves yards on the field. Been chased down multiple times one what looked like guaranteed TD's.

Still a very good player. Good receiver. I certainly think he could be top 10 (or maybe even top 5 RB) in the right situation. But he's not Barkley.

This is potentially becoming a buy opportunity similar to JT not too long ago. Bad offense and coming off a significant injury. One more year removed from his knee injury and hopefully the offense can get back on track. He will just be turning 24 later this year and has lots of life left in his tank. Hall is still ranked fairly high but not as high as he was and now can be obtained if you really want him.

As all the RBs get hyped come draft season (in dynasty) someone might fall in love with a prospect or 2 and you can now make a deal for Hall. I bought JT when he was slow coming back from injury and had his contract dispute. Bought for a good price and now I'm laughing. I'll do the same for Hall.

Does his trajectory go back up now that it seems like Rodger is gone?
TBD.

Helps that Rodgers exit likely means Davante is as good as gone though. Breece's targets dropped about 1.5 per game after the Adams trade. That's not massive but in his career he averages 1.63 PPR fantasy points per target so just losing 1.5 targets a game and using that career average cost him 2.45 fantasy points a game. And that may not seem like much but he was RB19 weeks 7-17(after the Davante trade) and if he scored 2.45 points more he'd have been RB11 instead.

So I don't know yet, to much up in the air regarding who is the QB and what kind of pass catchers. I'm not really moved either way yet.

Recency bias is a thing.

Hall is an elite talent, and easily on par with Saquan. Being on a crappy team that can't sustain drives, combined with bad OL play, bad playcalling and some number of injuries probably didn't help his 2024 season much.

Like looking at Barkley's stats from last night and concluding that he's mediocre, disregarding the previous games where successful play calling opened up huge holes for him.

No offense, I just see people bashing Hall based on 1 down year being kind of short-sighted.

Yeah, he sucks so much that I've received a half dozen trade offers (most low-balls) in my 16 team dynasty with messages explaining to me why he's so bad and why I should accept scraps for him.

Reject, no counter to all. I've seen too much greatness from Hall to be suckered into a sell low. He remains a cornerstone dynasty player in my eyes. That said, based on posts above I might try to put a package together for him in the 16-teamer where I was the 1-seed. If I could add Hall to that roster it would be a potentially massive move. TBD if that team owner has soured on him, but it seems there might be a chance.
