RB Westbrook Expected To Start

John Czarnecki, FOXSports.com - [Full Article]

John Czarnecki of FOXSports.com is reporting Eagles RB Brian Westbrook (knee) is expected to start.

annoying westy or actually it is the eagles that are annoying. now i need to decide between westy and kj.

Before the comments start or the updates, a few words from someone who follows the Eagles very closely.

Some major points:

Everyone wants Westy in - From Andy Reid to Donovan McNabb to Westy himself.
Westbrook does NOT need 30 touches to be productive. 15-20 can do a ton of damage.
He is playing on grass this week and next befre his bye. They were very concerned about his knee on turf vs. the Saints last week, but he recovered fine.
They will play him enough to be effective but not look to wear him down.
That is also the likely scenario next week vs. Jacksonville.
They will shut him down (or possibly scope him?) over the bye to have him available for the playoff hunt.So what's all that mean for today? Watch the pre-game info shows and see if there's any issues with him loosening up for the game (1PM kick). If not, Start him. I am.

Jeff, sorry to be behind the curve (I just swapped Tiki and 2 QBs for Westbrook, Maroney and Palmer) but in your opinion is it likely that Westy would miss multiple games consecutively after they bye? I haven't really heard much in the area of "or possibly scope him").... :bye:

Hi SeniorVBD,I should have stated that this was pure conjecture on my part. I'm just speculating that this would be the right time if they wanted to clean it out with 14 days off if that's the best thing for him for the rest of the season - even if it did cost him Week 10.

This is MY OPINION.
