RB Bucky Irving, TB (9 Viewers)

Honestly though, that play with an illegal hip-drop not flagged was called a fumble as well?

PIC
I didn't understand that because I didn't think the ground could cause a fumble. The wrist (with the ball) clearly hit the ground causing the ball to come loose. I thought that would have been called a no fumble because of that (plus I thought his shin was down anyway).
They said during the game that the wrist doesn’t count, it has to be the forearm. Not enough video evidence to see if the shin was down. Go birds!
He got rolled up on pretty bad on that play. Hip drop tackle btw, and his shin was definitely all the way down before his wrist hits.

Hope to see you guys again with a different set of officials and a healthier roster.

Sorry guys, traded for him dynasty just before the week 3 game, so probably my fault. Had been trying to snag Tucker all last week as some form of cover and didn’t get it done so that probably confirmed he’d get injured.

Anyone else got that sinking feeling that all the secrecy, second opinions, etc. are leading to something like a decision to "play through it" or get surgery (IR situation)?

I am not referencing him being down by contact. Forever the rule was the ground cannot "cause a fumble". The ground clearly was the reason he fumbled.

Also, as a slight difference I think the wrist is down but the hand is not. So if the back of the hand hit the ground you aren't down but who knows how they define where the hand changes to the wrist?

Does anyone know for sure what exactly his injury is?
I have more Bucky shares than any other player in the NFL this year, at least 5-6 teams he is one of the centerpieces, very disturbing how secret this is

Let's see what the practice report says today.
If the designation is still "undisclosed" then something happened away from the football field.
Under NFL rules, it mandates that clubs must report on field injuries to provide the public + other teams an accurate picture of a player's status for their availability during game day.

The only scenario that a player's designation deviates from non field injury is a family death or birth of a child; to which they use "non injury related" or "personal matter".

Something to watch: Buccaneers superstar RB Bucky Irving was spotted on crutches and a walking boot at the team’s walkthrough today, per
@gregauman

He’s dealing with foot and ankle injuries and his status for the week is unknown.

Possibly career ending

What we know is... ankle/foot + MRI + second opinions... I don't think all the secrecy is about whether he practices today or if they should hold him out until Thursday.

Don't think a guy goes from walking boot and crutches to playing this week.
Sounds like wishful thinking.

Pick up Tucker in all formats of course.

Josh Williams also likely now elevated to the active roster on gamedays. He’s someone to keep an eye on.

I think they’ll give Tucker a shot, BUT he has exclusively been returning kicks so far.

Wishful thinking... me? I thought I was being pretty clear that ALL indications are that this is probably somewhere between serious (couple weeks) and very serious (IR - weeks to season).

Yeah, I got the Fantasy Life notificatiion and grabbed him in 3-4.

In my deepest leagues, I waivered him. Spent 12$ in FBG002. Worked out since I got outbide on Davis who--12 hours ago--seemed like a more surefire bet to get touches.

Foot sprain is the official diagnosis

I think Bucky Owners will take that!
I'm gucci with it, much better than I thought
It could still be season ending if it's the dreaded Liz Franc situation. Being that they are looking for second opinions and not giving any info this seems like a likely possibility.

Yikes. Thankfully for Bucky, it doesn't seem to be the case.

Day-to-day, chance to play Week 5
Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles said Wednesday that Irving (foot) is day-to-day and could have a chance to suit up Sunday versus Seattle if he's able to shed his walking boot by Friday, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports.
Advice: Irving suffered a sprained foot during Tampa Bay's 31-25 loss to the Eagles in Week 4, per Adam Schefter of ESPN, and he was spotted on crutches and in a walking boot at Wednesday's walk-through practice. It's a relief that the second-year pro has avoided a long-term injury, but it appears his status for Week 5 may come down to the wire. If Irving ends up missing any time, Rachaad White and Sean Tucker will be slated to lead the Buccaneers' backfield.

Every year I say this..... But this year has been the worst for injuries... I have Burrow, Hill, Warren, and Bucky.. I am pretty much done
This feels like the worst one in a while imo. And right on the heels of a preseason that seemed to have very few.

I wonder if that correlation means anything.

I remember Irving being hurt at points last season but playing through it. In fact he didn't miss a game. It would not shock me if he tried to play through this one too.

I’ve heard nobody mention anywhere about anything season ending. And you don’t usually see a guy go down for the season after he caught and ran a 72 yard TD after the injury.

Agreed. I was just commenting on some people saying a foot sprain isn't a big deal but that if it ends up being Lis Franc it could be. This was before the latest that he "could play this week" comment from the coach at some point today.

based on what I've seen, I'd say he likely misses this week.

possibly next week too, but this week almost for sure. I've been wrong on this before but I feel reasonably confident on this prediction.

I, Dr Love (read above), am attempting to tell him to sit this week out so he doesn't incur further injury

Walking boot, crutches, and seeking additional opinions. Moreover, when someone gets labeled week-to-week he’s usually dealing with a multiple week injury. So I’d be shocked if he plays this Sunday.
