RB Bucky Irving, TB (1 Viewer)

Just feels like the Demarco Murrays days of running guys into the ground are over. Teams are playing it a little smarter. I was shocked at his under usage today. Glad he got the TD.

Failure to launch.
Premature speculation?
Ya bad call there

All he needed was more of the ball as he was creating on most touches

We do have a Sean Tucker problem though.

Bucky was a lottery ticket, but looks a little bust with a 3 headed monster.

You can't keep these guys off the field now, actually gotta look at Tampa for a Super Bowl future, they're pretty stacked
Team loves White in passing situations, so it would appear to be heading down that route which would make all 3 flex plays at best unless injuries or a trade change the landscape.

Among 61 qualifying backs, Irving ranks second in explosive run rate, fifth in missed tackles forced per attempt, and fourth in yards after contact per attempt.
Username checks out among Sean Tucker owners.
LOL

I don't own any Tucker shares. I did last season and might try to grab a share today. I do own one Irving share in one of my keeper leagues.

Tucker is their best RB, IMO. He's certainly their best pure runner.

Probably only a matter of time before Tucker is starting, but this backfield could take a number of turns before that comes to fruition. Very likely won't happen until next season.

All 3 are still under contract next season. If this one is any indication they should be keeping them all.

Not expected to play this week
Is Tucker worth a start? I think he’s a FA in all my leagues at this point.
I got tucker loaded up in a flex slot right now. This is the week. And if that toe injury turns out to be turf toe, it will linger.

I'm excited for Tucker but this offense is gonna be a steaming pile with no Godwin/Evans.

Last chance to get him though.
Why does everyone think the Bucs are just going to flat out suck? They have talent all over the roster- albeit the top 5 ceiling for the offense will come down, it's still below average to average without these WR's. White and Tucker are definitely flex options going forward.

People are starting Najee and Warren. Why not White and the second RB in the platoon? Irving is hurt, so Tucker is a start.

I think the offense will still be about average. Around 20 or so ppg. Maybe 23. You feel like Evans/Godwin is probably worth 7-10 points.

The problem is the defense has been so bad it'll be difficult for them to stay in games now to actually get the running game going with a guy like Tucker. Or Bucky. They were running it well against the Ravens but couldn't stick to it because the defense kept giving up points every drive.

Should lead to White-friendly scripts.

What about Tucker-friendly scripts? :)

Bowles on Bucky Irving, says he's in play for Sunday: "Barring anything happening, he should be OK." Said it is not a turf toe injury, just a regular toe injury, something that had even bothered him in college.

Edit - Update: sounds like Bucky is playing after all

#Bucs RB Bucky Irving will play Sunday barring a setback, coach Todd Bowles said. He has a foot injury but practiced Friday.

he is there best RB!
That's simply not true when you factor in Blitz pick up and ability to run the wheel route out of the back field, those things matter to Head Coaches that don't play FF
I have been one of White's biggest critics and I root for the Bucs anytime they don't play the Phins, lived in Tampa Bay and use to go to the old Sombrero

-White is by far their best receiving RB and he adds a lot when he is in the back field as a dual threat.
In the 2 games prior to White missing a week, he had 20 carries for over 120 yds on the ground, he was not holding the offense back I got news for people

-I know we want whoever the guy is on our FF team to be anointed as "The Man"
I think it's best to accept that the Bucs need all 3 of these guys right now with WRs coming up "X" right now

They were down 34-10 entering the 4th Q last week, how can you tell which RB is going to emerge when the score is that lopsided?
And I assure you White is by far their most accomplished receiver out of the backfield and Baker loves him
Let's not try and create scenarios that are leaps of faith IMHO
Let's deal with the fact and reality

You can feel however you want but the coaching staff isn't gathering around and saying out loud that Irving is their best RB and they need to feed him

lol you must not watch the games....

I can guarantee they started the year thinking White would be a heavy leader in touches and now its a split at best----> What do you possibly think could have led to that change????

I listed several factors and was about to unload some more stats but its not worth the effort when someone writes back..."You don't watch the games"
That's pretty much a cop out after the post I wrote
I dialed right in on White who you can't even name in your post, because you dismiss him too quickly

For those playing along at home...
336 touches, 1,500+ yds, 9 TDs last year and almost 140 catches over about 35 games in the NFL since he arrived 2 years ago
Even when Godwin and Evans are healthy they still throw often to White and now the Bucs' Star WRs aren't available and you feel Bucky Irving is the focal point of the offense now?
You can't just use White on 3rd down, the defense would know he's only out there to catch the football

You can "feel" that way about Bucky but there isn't a lot of hard evidence to support it right now

Cheers!

Sooooo, it's a chronic injury? 🤔

We all saw the game today and Irving is their best RB. I wish it was White since I drafted him in the 4th, but it is Bucky. BI even caught 7 balls today.

I'm sure their best RB isn't White, but I'm still not sure that it isn't Tucker
Yeah. Tucker's sample size is still far too small to be reliable, but his production has been too insane to not kick the tires a little more than three opps today.
