Who's ready for 5 carries for 3 yards?Woohoo. Who’s ready for 5 carries for 18 yards?

Seems optimistic.Woohoo. Who’s ready for 5 carries for 18 yards?
I was spot on with the carries but over estimated the yardage surprisingly. He ended up going 5 carries for 3 yards. C'mon, why bother at this point?Woohoo. Who’s ready for 5 carries for 18 yards?
Cam Akers rushed 14 times for 61 yards in Los Angeles' Week 11 loss to New Orleans.
He tied a season-high for rushing yardage. Akers led the backfield in carries and nearly doubled Kyren Williams' total. Despite converting a key fourth down, Akers probably could have done more with his rushes. He ran into contact often and just doesn't break enough tackles to be effective in that kind of role. He'll be a touchdown-or-bust FLEX play in Week 12 against the Chiefs.

Cam Akers rushed 17 times for 60 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the Rams' Week 13 loss to the Seahawks.
Akers was held to no gain on his lone target/reception. Akers' scoring plunges — his first since Week 3 — came from the one- and six-yard lines. The first to begin the game, the second to put the Rams ahead 23-20 with 2:56 remaining. Geno Smith then guided the Seahawks on a game-winning drive. Akers re-took over the Rams' backfield, out-touching Kyren Williams 18-3 while gadget players Brandon Powell and Tutu Atwell mixed in for carries. His 17 carries were a new season high. With Matthew Stafford on injured reserve and the Raiders' awful run defense on tap for Week 14, we would expect the Rams to remain committed to Akers next week. That still won't be enough to get him into the top 24 at running back. Akers remains woefully inefficient behind an awful offensive line.

Cam Akers played 72% of snaps in the Rams' Week 13 loss to the Seahawks.
Akers' snap share was a season-high and by a wide margin. Entering Week 13, his highest snap share of the season was just 50%, which came back in Week 3. 2022 is clearly a lost season for the Rams, and they're likely in evaluation mode for next year. The fact that they're willing to use Akers as a workhorse is somewhat bullish for his status with the team moving forward. He'll be a volume-based RB3 against the Raiders in Week 14.

There will also be plenty of free agents out there if they have the cap space. The Rams really cannot afford to use a high pick on a rb. It would be stunning if he isn’t the dude there to start next year.

They can’t have a lot and the same logic would apply- it’d be crazy to use those resources at rb given the other needs. There will also be plenty of free agents out there if they have the cap space. The Rams really cannot afford to use a high pick on a rb. Cam Akers rushed 12 times for 42 yards and one touchdown in the Rams' Week 14 win over the Raiders, adding one catch for one yard.
Akers lost a fumble in the second quarter on what was the most complete drive for the Rams to that point in the game but would redeem himself with a one-yard plunge with 3:19 remaining for the first Los Angeles touchdown of the game. That score would prove necessary as the Rams stopped the Raiders on the subsequent drive, got the ball back with 1:45 remaining on their own two, and marched the field to steal the game away from the Raiders. Akers maintained the lion's share of the backfield usage for the second consecutive week, momentum he will look to carry forward for a Week 15 matchup with the poor rush defense of the Packers.

Cam Akers rushed 12 times for 65 yards in the Rams' Week 15 loss to the Packers, adding three catches for 35 yards.
Akers completely niced Kyren Williams out of this contest, out-touching the rookie 15-2. He also made a handful of explosive runs, something that has been extremely rare for Akers since he tore his Achilles last offseason. His mark of 5.4 yards per carry this week is a high-water mark for his 2022 campaign. After seemingly playing his final snap for the Rams earlier this year, Akers has turned things around and cemented himself as LA's lead-back down the stretch. He will sit on the RB2/3 border for his Week 16 matchup with the Broncos.

I get the feeling that McVay loves him. The mid season stuff was said to be an issue with the RB coach, since that was resolved Akers has been the main guy at RB. Hoping he can keep this kind of form upIt looked like not long ago the Rams were going to either trade this guy for scraps or cut him but no one wanted him so then they surprisingly sent Henderson packing and now Akers is back to the status he was before the year began. Probably needed more time to get over that injury he had.

Cam Akers rushed 19 times for 123 yards in the Rams’ Week 17 loss against the Chiefs, adding a reception for an additional 10 yards.
Akers continued his fantasy playoff dominance despite the Rams not being able take advantage. He could not be stopped against a Chargers’ run defense that ranks amongst the worst in the league. Akers had a season-long 42-yard run and nearly caught a potential 60-yard touchdown had Baker Mayfield not over shot him. He’s staked his claim as the Rams’ top running back after an uneven season.

No idea where Akers goes. Just taking a guess on drafts held before FA and the draft I'm thinking somewhere in the 5-7th round area of 12 team leagues? A bit of wide range and maybe I'm way off, no idea really. He ended the year great but we've seen a few RB's over the years benefit from fresh legs late in the year, people will be leery of comp(I think it won't be much), he's not a huge presence in the passing game but probably most of all just the offense will scare people away.He did this without the team having a serious passing or receiving threat too. Amazing.
Assuming that LA doesn't bring in any major competition, where do you see him going in redrafts next year?
Gotta move Kupp up to a locked-in top 2 pick also, no?
is my sarcasm meter picking up a reading?Seems like momentum is all on his side like rashaad penny. I want Akers next year
As a guy who has held him in dynasty for a few years I'm struggling with continuing to hold onto him (he wasn't much valued at all all season) or try to flip him/move up in the hopes of getting one of the younger top 2-4 RBs in the draft coming up.
If one really worked the WW and was lucky, you could have picked up Purdy, Akers, and McKinnen and possibly win a championship. As a guy who has held him in dynasty for a few years I'm struggling with continuing to hold onto him (he wasn't much valued at all all season) or try to flip him/move up in the hopes of getting one of the younger top 2-4 RBs in the draft coming up.
Super frustrating watching him go off end of season/ NFL playoffs his rookie year when it did us no good, miss his entire 2nd season, then go off again this year after it once again did me no good (missed the playoffs).
The Athletic's Jordan Rodrigue believes the Rams "really hope to build off what Cam Akers accomplished in December and January."
More interestingly from a fantasy football perspective, she writes that she thinks Sean McVay wants to re-assess the Rams' previous running back by committee approach. Mike LaFleur's addition to the room is seen as a sign that McVay wants to lean more into wide/outside zone concepts with Akers, and Rodrigue also writes that she believes the Rams won't "overhaul" the room at this point. All of this profiles as great news for Akers, who the Rams will likely have to focus on using more in 2023 with a paucity of pass-catching options beyond Cooper Kupp. Akers is probably a top-24 back in fantasy leagues entering the offseason.

Rams head coach Sean McVay said RB Cam Akers will be a "central figure" in the team's offense this season.
“He’s really capitalized on a lot of the momentum he built up toward the latter part of the year. And he’s going to be a huge part of what we’re doing moving forward,” McVay said on SiriusXM. “Cam is going to be a central figure in this offense. I think he’s priming himself to have a great year.” Headed into his age-24 season, Akers will look to build on a strong finish to the 2022 season after struggling to return from a 2021 Achilles tear. Akers led the NFL in rushing yards (512) over the regular season's final six weeks, logging seven runs of more than ten yards -- the seventh most among running backs over the season's last month and a half. Akers could be an overlooked fantasy pick if the Rams don't add Dalvin Cook or Kareem Hunt in the coming weeks.
