I'm onboard.. landed him today, looking for some positivity after the brutal DJ loss...
I think people are looking a little further down the road. As much as I like to see Rawls play, he is always hurt. In the football world, players don't typically get more healthy as the season and or their careers move forward. (just ask danny woodhead or arian foster)I don't understand where that's coming from, but it seems like a lot of people feel this way. Carson wasnt getting carries, lacy sucked, Carson got touches, he looked pretty good, Carroll said he earned more and he's excited to see him. That doesn't mean he's earned the starting job. He didn't even imply it. It seems like he's pretty clear that Rawls is starting this week if he's healthy. It sounded like Rawls was close to playing last week so I'd expect him to be healthy, and that he sat for lacy in part because he was playing green bay Ann's another week of rest was a luxury thert thought they could afford. I'm not sure Rawls will be any good for fantasy, but I would bet on him leading the backfield in carries and i like the matchup against the 49ers a lot better than green bay.
Full disclosure, I have Rawls and lacy in one league and Carson in another, so I can't say I'm really rooting for one over the other. I'm starting Rawls if he plays and benching lacy and Carson. I'm very close to dropping lacy but will give it one more week in case he bulldozes the 49ers, but the Seattle line just didn't seem to get any push last week and there doesn't appear to be much help on the horizon. I have no plans to start Carson until I see him take over, but if and when he does I'll be happy to have him in the mix
So they suck at drafting OL2nd round Center this year
1st round Tackle in 2016
3rd round Guard in 2016
2 4th round Guards in 2015
2nd round OT in 2014
WHY IS LACEY ON YOUR ROSTER STILL IN ONE LEAGUE????What a waste of a bench spot He has zero chance of making any kind of impact ever again in his career. He's pretty much washed up. I love playing in leagues with owners that hold onto worthless players.I don't understand where that's coming from, but it seems like a lot of people feel this way. Well, since I just traded T Cohen and M Bennett for D Martin and G Olsen, I will most likely have to play Carson in my RB #2 spot today. I like him over Abdullah, and it's SF. The second half of this game could be garbage time yards and Rawls coming back from injury may be limited?Anyone else think starting Carson this week is a sneaky play? I've got him in my lineup and I'm hoping I look brilliant later today.
I am a long time Seahawks fan, after we drafted Carson in the 7th I went and read tons of threads plus watched plenty of film on him; Pete Carroll loves him, the players rave about his veteran presence the kid will be a stud and he will be the starter.
The Hawks have a fairly nice run friendly schedule, yes I drafted him, I took him in the 13th round in a Dynasty PPR League, the kid can block, he has good hands, amazing awareness some have compared him to Terrell Davis/David Johnson for his one quick cut to the hole and go.
The one negative is Tom Cable will have to rework that left side as losing Fant in pre-season hurt us, if anybody can accomplish this it's Tom Cable!
Pick him up before the train leaves the station! The train has left. welcome aboard Chris Carson!![]()
No injury. Carson's job now.so Rawls get injured or just ineffective? i am sure it's just rust from Rawls but Carson just seems to earn more and more touches. hard to ignore him when he helps grind out a win with big runs late.
I would say both, he bobbled the ball twice, missed a block and just looked rusty and he's had Carson impressing and breathing down his back. I'm glad it happen this quick as I thought it might take 4 games, we've been searching for this kind of runner since we lost Lynch, the O-line still needs much improvement though.so Rawls get injured or just ineffective? i am sure it's just rust from Rawls but Carson just seems to earn more and more touches. hard to ignore him when he helps grind out a win with big runs late.
I caught glimpses of this game, yeah, that missed block that led to a sack in the (3rd?) quarter, I think that was the nail in the coffin.I would say both, he bobbled the ball twice, missed a block and just looked rusty and he's had Carson impressing and breathing down his back. Lacy was a healthy scratch, it's been Chris Carson's for the taking and he took it today, kid's going to be a stud! The team really seem to flow better once he was in for several plays in a row. Lacy being inactive Maybe? Tells us something too?
This is the guy to blow it for.Decided to preach patience with Powell and not pick up Carson this week. Guess I'm blowing 50% minimum of my FAAB this week.
?? So far it looks like Carson dosent have rocks for brains so he is much more above than a notch.Just a notch above C-Mike
It was a joke. Love Carson.?? So far it looks like Carson dosent have rocks for brains so he is much more above than a notch.
Thanks for listening Pete!
Good luck, I have tried trading for handcuffs like this in the past, former starter getting hurt or out played by younger player and those owners usually don't like to let go. I offered a 4th rounder for Arian Foster last year after Ajayi went nuts and was counter with a 1st. I laughed and 3 or 4 weeks later Foster retired.I've got him in all three of my dynasty leagues. Is the shark move to go trade for Rawls for peanuts to have along with him? I think Carson may have earned a monster bulk of the time share, and I don't like handcuffing, but if I can own both guys for dirt cheap on 22 -24 man rosters then i'm a little more interested in doing it.
Yeah you talked me out of that waste of time. I've dealt with that before. Balls to the wall with Carson.Good luck, I have tried trading for handcuffs like this in the past, former starter getting hurt or out played by younger player and those owners usually don't like to let go. If it was me, I would trade Rawls for a 2018 3rd
I wouldn't trade anything for Rawls. Unless you feel like he is the starter and will get a majority of the carries. Carson is the back to own. If I'm going to roster a backup RB, it's going to be from a team where I do not own the current starter. I'm greedy....I want two starters instead of one. I guess I like buying lottery tickets instead of insurance. The payoff is better and can greatly improve your team with a lottery ticket....the best you can hope for with insurance is that your team stays the same.Good luck, I have tried trading for handcuffs like this in the past, former starter getting hurt or out played by younger player and those owners usually don't like to let go. That is my approach 99% of the time. I should have known better than to think any Rawls owner would give up, especially when two of the three dynasties are start-ups and they just bought him.I wouldn't trade anything for Rawls. SEATTLE -- Doug Baldwin didn't wait for the question to finish before launching into his answer. He was eager to rave about rookie running back Chris Carson, who had just helped the Seattle Seahawks close out a 12-9 win against the San Francisco 49ers Sunday at CenturyLink Field.
"He's the real deal. He's the real deal," Baldwin said. "I've been telling you that since training camp. He is the real deal."
Thread title please.FixedParty time yeti?![]()
Based on what?Lacy likely cut tomorrow.
Which is weird, because ITS told us all how dominant he would be this year and he knows more about the Hawks and football generally than pretty much anyone. Just ask him...
good post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!A word of caution for those that didn't watch the game yesterday.
Yes, Carson's stat line looked MUCH better at the end of the day, but through three quarters is looked just as dismal as everyone else's. Carson was sitting on 13-35 with several of those carries for zero or negative yards. The 49er defensive line was dominating the Seahawk offensive line. It wasn't pretty.
This said, I think Carson passes the eye test just like Rawls did over the past two years when he had realistic opportunities. Those "realistic opportunities" weren't available yesterday through three quarters. I think Rawls didn't get carries late in the game because of two specific plays. Once he had a small window but stumbled upon receiving the carry, his only real chance. The other play was a missed blitz pickup. Rawls totally whiffed and Wilson went down hard.
I won't be surprised to see both players get meaningful carries as we move forward. I won't be surprised to see Carson take a firm grasp on the job and not let go. Lastly, I won't be so arrogant to say I know what's going to happen. I would advise anyone to be wary of those that do. As a Seattle fan I would love to see both play well. I've got a dog in this fight and that's seeing Seattle win games. I don't own either on my fantasy roster.
