Owner with him sits at 1-5

They only thing holding me back from offering up Mixon or Swift is losing the little depth I have.

 
CMC owner in my league is 0-6. He's need bodies now as CMC is basically his only RB. He also had CEH. He's throwing AJ Dillon and D Johnson out there this week. But I have Henderson and Zeke and only Collins and Singletary after that. Not sure he'll go for Collins with the injury news even if I packed some good WR with him. 

Ultimately, he probably just goes down with the ship because he's got nothing else. Renamed his team dumpster fire. I'm just trying to figure out a fair offer to pry CMC away from him. 

 
I was offered CMC/Chuba for Henderson/Pittman/Gordon. I passed but mostly because it’s a Megalabowl team where playoffs start in week 12. Top half of teams advance each week. CMC bye in week 13. I also have Henry who has the same issue.

Interesting format. I agree you made the right move passing, thought it's not a bad deal.

20,000+ entries which are divided into a bunch of 12 team “leagues.” Rosters locked week 9. Playoffs begin week 12 with the top 3 teams of each “league” moving on. Top 50% move on each week, which narrows it down around 250 or so. There’s probably some fallout with people being removed for inactivity, so unclear how it all comes together in the end. Going to shop Henry next week as I get the feeling not everyone understands the format well.

I am 5-1 and CMC owner is 1-5 with lots of other injured players.  I have really good depth at RB, and have Conner, Alex Collins, and Zach Moss on my bench.  My starters are Darrell Henderson, Jonathon Taylor, and Chubba Hubbard (for now).

I would like to offer one of Conner/Collins, Moss,  straight up for McCaffrey.  Thinking the best of the bunch is Conner, and I don't think that is too big a risk for me to offer that up, agree?

If they take Conner for McCaffrey I would think your league would lose their minds.

It is pretty difficult to determine collusion which is why I wrote what I did about this case.   One owner may have lost all faith in CMC and have high hopes for Patterson.   It is a fair thought process by the owner too since none us know what’s in store for CMC and Patterson ROS.

Made an offer to him but he replied he's not making trades this year. Just wallowing in his own pile of ####. Fair enough. 

 
The problem with manager one that sold CMC for Patterson is that it's like he didn't even try to shop CMC around the league and compare offers. He just took the first offer that came to him. Strikes me as laziness and he definitely left a WR2 or another RB2 on the table to be added to the trade. Or even a QB1 / TE1. Two pieces to help your team.

When you actively want to shop someone, message every league manager and hopefully you get 2-3 responses. 

Or declare to league chat / channel that this guy is on the block. CMC is CMC - the name value and his performance is still very high.

No one is going to be rushing to "Marvin Jones on the block!" but they will to CMC.

Hmm, just tried offering him + last WR on roster to 6-0 team for Taylor and DJ Moore, insta rejected, prob asking too much but looking at his roster and record it was worth a shot

As an owner of both CMC and Jacobs this is an instant rejection. CMC is worth more than Jacobs and a WR2

I hope you guys listened to me and moved cmac when you had the chance.  This team is now horrible and I suspect by the time he is ready to come back it will be too late and the playoffs are only a dream.  Therefor making sense to simply shut him down again.   Why risk it?

Even in redraft, Jacobs has been hurt all year….

I am thinking you would want somebody reasonably healthy…maybe a Damien Harris or a Henderson ….just spitballin’

I don’t disagree for redraft but it’s funny that you used Henderson as your example of someone healthy.   😀 we know what his injury history has been in the past.

I have Harris who is probably at his peak value right now. Last week I was offering Harris and Claypool for CMC. This week perhaps it's just Harris. I own Chuba too, who basically had a terrible day as did the entire Panther team all the way around. Hot out of the gate, and cold as h**l right now. 

Who would you rather have ROS - CMC or Harris / Henderson?

Love thinking about the spectrum of outcomes.

1. Steal for you, you win your league. CMC is back to being (ppr) 27 points per game and you've come out averaging +8 points in your weekly lineup from Marquise. Bateman steals some of his thunder and he settles in as a WR2-3 instead of a back end WR1. Something like this seems like 20-25% chance of happening.

2. CMC gets 16 -18 touches a game and ends up being an RB1 not THE RB1, Hubbard still getting 8 touches a game. Marquise continues to do great. everyone's happy, ish. More or less a wash. Something like this seems like 40% likely. 

3. CMC never right again. Plays a few games, gets hurt again. If you're on a playoff trajectory, might want to cover yourself with a Hubbard. they say not to roster your own backup but that's more early season advice and based on not knowing how usage will work out in the case of an injury (see Baltimore backfield). Hubbard has been shown to be a RB2 so once CMC's starting he should be relatively cheap. Marquise ends the year as THE WR6 where he is now. You got hosed. But again, he's averaging 18.6 ppr points per week. Chuba is like a 14 point ppr player so as long as you have that floor somewhere in your lineup as a replacement, you can buffer this. This seems like 35-40% chance of happening.

I like this less for you than I thought I would. I'd have asked for more if I was your league mate. I'm rostering him at the moment, wonder if I should be shopping him to one of the WR rich teams. One healthy game and I should probably do it.

I have him thru 2022 in a contract league.  I expected to fall out of contention early this year (my WRs stink after Deebo) and figured if/when that happened I'd shop him and basically blow up my team and start a rebuild.

Well, I'm sitting at 4-3 with a 2-game lead in the division, which puts me in line (for now) for a playoff spot and a little prize money.  Our trade deadline is right before week 12 , so I have 4 weeks to see how both his health and my results shake out.

WRs like Brown are a dime a dozen.  McCaffrey can single handedly win you a championship.  No brainer trade.

Thanks for your thoughts here, greatly appreciated.   I'm 2-5 and in a fight this week, so needed a chance at your #1 or #2 scenerio above.  Fortunately our league adjusted this year to only start 1 RB and added a flex, so that helps.  My RB1 is A Jones, which is decent, but if he got hurt, I'd be in big trouble.  Oh, the guy who traded has Chuba. 

I'll add, if I was in better shape, I'd consider flipping/ trading him again for a healthy solid RB  (e.g. Henderson)--I may still consider it ---

Well I got 'em so I hope you're right :)  I also think you're mostly right but the "dime a dozen thing" stings for me, all of my WRs suck lol. Would have paid a few dimes for him.

Trade value charts and ROS rankings for CMC are anywhere from RB6 to RB 20. Personally, I'd put him at the higher end of that scale but a lot of people are freaked about the injury. And nobody seems to have Marquise anywhere near top 6 WR ROS so you're near consensus but Marquise Brown is-- THE WR6 right now- this year.

18.5, 14.9, 13.0, 15.8, 12.5, 21.1 = average of 16.0 ppr points per game. 18.6 this year. This is 13 games of WR1 production. A lot of people are kinda fading him (I think unintentionally). 

I think there's a (much?) greater chance of J Islander coming out ahead in this trade (and he definitely won on magical trade value)  but there's definitely a risk.

Yeah, my WR's are : Ridley, McLaurin, Tee Higgins, Toney, Ruggs and Michael Thomas --  All starters have been under-performing obviously but thought I had enough potential there to lose Hollywood (plus I have Pitts!)

Are we expecting him to come off IR next week when he’s eligible?

No news on this guy from what I can see. Well, besides that trash LaConfora report about the Texans.
