RB D’Andre Swift, CHI (1 Viewer)

This week makes up for the other 3. He has good matchups week 4-9. Almost sat him but whenever I see an article about a player being upset. It’s almost guaranteed he gets fed the next week. This is one of those cases.

That's how you use Swift. Might be one of those guys who gets buried by FFers early on, only to emerge as a difference-maker later. He's their most talented RB and while the offense has struggled, they do have some upside.

Wouldn't be crazy if Swift got rolling.

Any insight from homers / fans? Where the heck did this come from? I know he's capable of such games from time to time.
I'm a biased believer in him so to me this is expected every week. I don't know what his problem is when he fails like the first three weeks. Either not using him well, or just a "bad game" that anyone can have are my go-to excuses. 🤷‍♂️

I'm not sure what lit a fire under Swift's ***, but he looked like an All-Pro. TOTALLY different than the first 3 weeks. Swift has that type of ability, though.

His OL will be a hinderance, but I'm interested to see if he can keep up that type of intensity.

He was probably pretty embarrassed about his performance the week before. Some of the game film on him against the Colts was pretty bad.

A lot little things happened, so its hard to pinpoint.

Last week the offensive captains went to Waldron and complained about the playcalling. From the sounds of it, Waldron was receptive to the feedback.

There was definitely the idea of letting Roschon be the early down back, which had to rub him wrong. It was highlighted to Swift that Roschon hits the holes and gets north and south better. Swift was dancing too much behind the line.

Swift was semi called out by teammates over being too good to play that poorly.

And truthfully Caleb took a step forward this week. He was taking the checkdown because thats what the defense was giving him. In his first 3 weeks he was forcing it downfield too much. The long sustained drives do wonders for getting RBs touches against tired defenses.

The way Swift has played these last couple weeks really makes you wonder what Philly was doing last year. The RBBC with Gainwell makes me think the Eagles' coaches had no clue about what they had.

He struggled early on this season, but to Chicago's credit, they've got him going. This is what Swift has been capable of all along. It'll be interesting to see if he can continue to produce with a rookie QB in a developing offense with a shaky OL. The future looks bright, though.

He's been decisive running the last two weeks. There were concerns that his vison is poor, and he doesn't break tackles. Those still may be true, but the Bears have been doing a lot better getting him into space.

I think some bigger days are ahead. He was stopped at the 1 yard three times this weekend and only got to put it in the endzone once. That first Roschon TD, may have been a Swift TD, but the Bears didn't bother reviewing since it was on first and goal from the one and they were playing fast.

As a Swift truther and dynasty rookie drafter, I love -- and am shocked -- that the Bears have been so committed to Swift. I expected them to give him a healthy workload and a decent leash if he performed poorly. But after those first three games, I thought for sure he would end up losing anything even close to a bellcow role. But his opportunities have gone 11, 19, 17, 23, 23, in that order. I didn't think it was possible for anyone to trust this guy more than I do, but I guess they do.

Tick tock tick tock tick tock….

Roshon is a big downgrade. deandre's touches are safe for now an dyeah it was Jax but the O is developing.

Of note a great audible to a pitch right to D that went for 10-12 yards mid 3rd Q.

He's worth a semi-cautious start with high celing until ...(not gonna say it lol)

I think my take was right - that they hadn't opened the playbook up for Caleb yet at that point and Swift's problems were more related to the entire offense sucking. Particularly the run fits. Yes some was on Swift but my thought at that time was ok well Caleb is taking steps each week and this thing is going to open up soon. Then they gave him the wristband and now they're 4-2 and he looks like the #1 overall (with all due respect to Jayden Daniels who frankly looks no less worthy of that #1 pick as well).

The flow of an offense and their playcalling is such an important factor to the success of the lead RB. I know it's kind of a chicken and egg thing but IMHO those first couple weeks were mostly a story of a rookie QB and a fluttering offense as a whole. And I assume the locker room and coaches had faith in Swift at that point and that the whole offense probably took the early results personal. And I don't think that was my Bears Goggles talking either.

worth monitoring... but the bears used roschon johnson more on sunday. season to date roshcon has been limited to 3rd downs and inside the 2 yard line. But against GB there was a change made in game where the coaches decided to use roschon on 1st and second down several times to try and run him inside. swift has not been a good inside runner this year. he will just run where the play calls him to run and then falls down on first contact for 2-3 yards. luckily swift scored on the 39 yard toss play and showed when used effectively swift has value to the offense. i wonder if going forward we see swift losing a few more touches and possibly more depending on roschon success... luckily, i dont think roschon is a very good RB. snap share dropped to under 60% snaps for the first time in a while which was because roschon was getting 1st and 2nd down work for the first time this year.

Two straight DNPs. Any reports on practice today? Monday night game makes this tricky.
No practice reports yet but since this is the same practice schedule he followed last week I feel pretty solid about him playing so long as he gets in an LP today.
But is he worth starting in fantasy?
That I don’t know. Seems like a very weak option but he’s been a little unpredictable and while it did not help last week the abscence of Roschon should give him a little more goal line work.

I got him on some teams with Warren and Tracy. Don’t feel good about any of them, my plan as of now is to mix it up. That’s the class of RB’s I’d put him in this week.

I would hate to have my playoffs reliant on a RB with a groin injury on MNF. May want to pick up T Homer and pivot if so. It would be smart if your opponent has Swift and block him with Homer also.

I may just do that.
Have Swift in a Must Win game to get the last playoff spot. Dobbins on IR. Etienne/Bigsby combo on the bench. Harris and Swift in the starting lineup as of right now.
Just dropped Downs for Homer as MNF Insurance. That’ll suck if I have to pull that trigger. Hopefully one of my WRs puts up a ridiculous 40 point week or something like that. I’m gonna need it at this rate.

Can’t link this rn but this is a tweet from Courtney Cronin within last hour.

Swift (groin) was limited in Saturday’s practice and is QUESTIONABLE. Sounded like there was optimism for his availability from OC Chris Beatty yesterday. Swift was also DNP 2 days last week with a quad and ended up playing.

I’m in the same boat plus got a zero from Kupp. I could play Warren over him but that’s a grim situation. I just grabbed Homer…
