Sorry, I honestly was just making a joke based on your name. Truth is the Jets doctors would not put him at harm even if they were going all in. The front office would probably sign Cook or Hunt if Hall wasn’t going to play this year.

From what I hear (nothing anyone else doesn’t have access to) Hall will be ready for week 1. I expect a few weeks where he doesn’t see a heavy workload but I don’t think they need to sign a veteran and waste cap since Carter, Knight and the Pitt rookie are good enough to move the offense.
Since this post, Javonte took the first handoff in 11-on-11 drills, Hall is still on the PUP list, the coach has stated they will not rush him and Cook is scheduled to visit the Jets.
Between this and our different view on the impact Charbs will have on Walker, we will have to agree to disagree.

NY Post this morning. Rodgers agreed to a re-worked contract yesterday that freed up money for 2023.
Dalvin Cook is flying to New York to visit the Jets this weekend, The Post’s Brian Costello confirmed.
Cook, 27, was released by the Vikings this offseason and has yet to find a new team, despite running for over 1,000 yards the past four seasons.
The Jets will likely open the season without starter Breece Hall, who tore his ACL in October.
Cook has also received interest from the Dolphins and Patriots, according to reports.

Reading the tea leaves with the Jets media, there's speculation Hall may not come off the PUP till later in training camp. Signing Cook now before he can sign with MIA or NE would be some insurance. Could be why Rodgers agreed to free up some cap space. Again, pure speculation.

At the same time, he's 33 and they had to know this day was coming over the last several years so i kind of don't feel bad that they are down to Tyler Herro, pretty much take it or leave it is what the Heat have told them.
I would prefer Dalvin Cook were signed by Miami since he would sit at the top of chart, nobody on the team can do what he does...where as Buffalo and the Jets each have a young rising star at RB, Miami might have something with Achane but we won't know that until the season starts. I'd love for him to ease into things with Cook in front of him vs the collection Miami has on its roster right now.
Sounds like Cook is going to sign with someone that Miami is going to feel the impact like the NY Jets.
Be a shame to watch him go to New York but Miami made him an offer weeks ago and he didn't take it.

Hall must be a long long way off if they want Cook. Maybe Hall starts season on the PUP list? Cook, Hall, Carter, Izzy, Z man, seems like a lot of RBs, even after they cut one.

Also along those lines, some of this decision might have to do with where Cook feels like he’s got a better chance at a ring.
Cook is certainly familiar with ARod from playing against the Packers during his Vikings tenure.
Maybe he’s concerned about Miami being a legitimate contender. Tua’s concussions could be a concern as well.
As a Hall shareholder I wouldn’t be thrilled, but I’m also not really concerned about Cook long term.

I feel like Lillard and his agent backed the team into a corner where nobody is going to make an offer for a player who ONLY wants to be traded to 1 team.
I find it fascinating that nothing better than Tyler Herro has been presented to them.
Not sure why so many are down on Herro, he's young and scores 20 points a game, not exactly common on every NBA roster.

Herro and garbage picks are not in the realm of Lillard lol. Herro is a traffic cone on defense. Lillard is as well but at least he can go nuclear on offense

Don't make a trade at all? If Lillard has a hissy fit and refuses to return to play in Portland, he'd lose like $500K+ per game. They aren't interested in Herro because he is redundant to the guys they already have on the roster (and is not in the same class as Dame). Lillard was ranked 8th in in the league in player efficiency last year (Top 10 in 4 of the past 5 seasons), while Herro was ranked 96th. Lillard had a net rating per 100 possessions of +5 points (with a career best of +11) while Herro was at -6. Sure, Herro scored 20 points a game but didn't do much else. As already mentioned, if the Heat say take it or leave it, then leave it. The Blazers shouldn't just give away a guy that has made 7 All NBA teams.

-This isn't fantasy football, trades are rarely even in the NBA, what did Miami ever give up to have the teams they've had in the past?
Usually not much, especially when you have Pat Riley, The Godfather as he is typically referred to around here.
-And we all know that appearances and how teams treat players impacts future players they can obtain in the NBA...not sure the Trailblazers are going to land a lot of future stars if they don't take care of this situation properly. They've gotten away with not bringing in much help for Lillard for a long time now and he's 33 yrs old and want an opportunity to go somewhere else, he's been a good soldier for them and hasn't experienced a lot of success there.
Getting back to football...as Cook continues his tour of the AFC East, maybe Miami is sending him to each place before they up their offer to him, again the Miami Dolphins already made an offer to Cook, the Jets, Bills and Pats along with other interested teams must know how much Miami offered him. Isn't $500k more or over enough to entice him to sign with one of those 3 teams? It just doesn't seem that hard to figure out a number and settle on that.

How about a two-way contract for Cooks split between the Dolphins and Heat?
Except we could be talking huge differences in offers. One team could be offering multiple years, another could be offering more guaranteed money, and a third could be offering a ton of incentives. On top of that, they could be a difference of millions between the contracts . . . and still not the amount that would interest Cook.

3) Dalvin is a great back, as is Elliott, but Unless he plays guard too, not sure how much he helps what McDaniel is trying to do on offense.

Miami has the most ambiguous RB situation (Mostert/Wilson/Achane) so in theory Cook could beat out all of them for carries. But McDaniel loves his ex-49er RB's and hand picked Achane in the draft. If the Dolphins were to trade Mostert or Wilson to make room then I think it would be the best spot for Cook.

The Bills seem pretty fine with the Cook they already have, and Damien Harris is a solid RB2. I don't see a reason for them to sign Dalvin.

I seriously see why the Jets would sign Cook, and it infuriates me as a Hall GM. Why wouldn't you want to be as deep as you can at every position you can?
That said, aren't there guys available along the OL that would help the Jets more than Cook would at RB? Becton is apparently getting torched already in camp, the Jets don't have much of a line to speak of, and I can't shake the feeling there are available guys that would make the OL room better than Dalvin would improve upon their RB room.

As someone whom Achane grew on considerably and drafted him all over the place, I completely agree. Getting Cook would make one of Wilson/Mostert expendable and the other will get hurt in 5 seconds. Versus both getting hurt in 5 seconds and forcing Achane to carry a load he is totally unequipped for.
Keep my Ferrari clean, please. Let Dalvin drive to the store and let my dude hit the racetrack.

Maybe the Jets are going after D Cook just to keep him away from other Division foes? Cook benefits Miami more but NYJ could hinder Miami by taking him off the FA Market.
Yes, I agree, Jets have OL issues that should be a higher priority, but who is available in the Market ??
32 yo Taylor Lewan or 41 yo Jason Peters? The average age of available OL FA = 32.5 for the Top 15... maybe it's a case of what has the most impact?
