I would go Jones and Dillon given that scenario.Worst case scenario for me. Had already planned on starting both Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon, now I gotta pick between cook and Mattison. Can’t start them all, and it’s a must win week.
I gotta flex one of cook/Mattison also, my only other pivot is Dalton Schultz in a TE premium league.I would go Jones and Dillon given that scenario.
You have my condolences.I gotta flex one of cook/Mattison also, my only other pivot is Dalton Schultz in a TE premium league.
I was dead set on Jones Dillon Mattison going into the week.
I would too. You at least know they each have a specific role and both have potential for scoring decently even with the other one playing.I would go Jones and Dillon given that scenario.
if i start either, it's Mattison
The other thing at play here is that Thursday games are typically ugly offensively. Generally they underperform so it's just not a good spot for either if Cook is active. This is worst case scenario as a. owner of both... really wanted to hear Cook declared out, or off the injury report.
Now in this situation where weekend could be ruined before it starts if things break the wrong way with Cook tonight.
Curious, why did you say that Thursday games are typically ugly offensively? Is that really true? The other thing at play here is that Thursday games are typically ugly offensively. Generally they underperform so it's just not a good spot for either if Cook is active.
"ptts"=??

As far as I remember it means points to shirt, which means, blame yourself for bad things."ptts"=??
I keep seeing this emoji, sorry for the slight thread derail but.. what is this?
I would think that stinging sensation in the shoulder after a hard hit would have an impact on his ability to perform.Hope Dalvin does not play but if he does I'm starting him over Mattison.
This is not an injury that projects to limit Dalvin's ability to perform.

I'm guessing that if the Vikings medical staff does not clear Cook to play it doesn't matter what Zimmer wants to do,Just seems to me Zimmer knows he's gone if they miss the playoffs so why not risk the health of Cook.
And along those lines there is a long list of these type of situations where some of us not lucky enough to have any real impact RBs have been using tape and glue the entire season, we finally get a few back ups thrust into the spotlight and start them, no sooner than we do they are taken away and put back in the garage. Why you rushing back, Dalvin? Take a couple weeks off.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports "the plan" is for Dalvin Cook (shoulder) to return for Thursday evening's game against the Steelers, barring a setback in pre-game warmups.
Per Pelissero, Cook has already "regained strength and range of motion" in his banged up shoulder. National insiders for both NFL Network and ESPN have now reported that Cook will give it a go. Cook is somehow continuing his remarkable streak of serious-looking injuries turning out less so. We are obviously skeptical Cook will be ready for 100 percent of his typical workload, but he took first-team reps during the week. We would fire him up as a low-end RB1, leaving Alexander Mattison as a shaky FLEX. Mattison's case is enhanced by Adam Thielen's absence.

Vikings RB Dalvin Cook will play tonight vs. the Steelers with a shoulder harness, just as he did vs. the Saints in a January 2020 wild-card game, when he had 31 touches for 130 yards and two touchdowns. With the harness, expectations are that Cook maintains his regular workload.
I don't trust the medical staff much more.I'm guessing that if the Vikings medical staff does not clear Cook to play it doesn't matter what Zimmer wants to do,
Thank god I don't own this guy.
This feels like Zimmer trying to save his *ss.
Can't imagine he gets his full load AND stays in the game/healthy.
I know many don't, but 100% agree with you. Seems like there should be no way Cook plays in this game.Thank god I don't own this guy.

All news points to Cook seeing plenty fo touches tonight, doesn't look like a bunch of smoke and mirrors.Who do we look for to give a pregame update of warmups etc? Can we trust him getting full load as usual?
I think so too so I’m starting Cook. As a Steelers fan I’ll be fine if he fumbles 6 times thoughI'm betting on Cook getting plenty of looks and carving up the Steeler run D.
Starting cook nowI'm betting on Cook getting plenty of looks and carving up the Steeler run D.
he does, but these holes are ridonkulous
Dalvin Cook rushed 27 times for 205 yards and two touchdowns in Minnesota's Week 14 win over Pittsburgh, adding a 17-yard catch on three targets.
Seems like his shoulder was alright. Cook spent the first half mostly running to wide open spaces as the Steelers run defense was just pushed around at the point of attack, he had five separate yards of 15 or more yards in the first 18 minutes of game time. He ground out tough yards in the second half and made his only catch of the game up the seam on third-and-9 with 2:51 left. If you listened to the Adam Schefter report, you're probably pretty happy with the results. Cook will have extra time to rest his shoulder ahead of a Week 15 date with the Bears and will be back on the RB1 line.

A guy came on here years ago trying to sell his ffl t shirts - with the theme being how much luck there is in fantasy or something similar. His post had a series of scenarios where you could “point to the shirt”. I am sure you can find the original thread if you search for it.
