RB Darrell Henderson, LAR (2 Viewers)

Boy do I hope you are right. What gnaws at me is this injury may cause a coach to be more cautious on workload. 60% of Henderson is better for the team than 0%.
Possible. I just didn’t see anything out of Sony that looked better than a healthy Henderson. McVay seems to like what he’s seen from Henderson, too.

Practiced in full today. Starting with confidence.

Just saw the update:

"I don't anticipate him not being able to go," coach Sean McVay said when asked before Friday's practice about Henderson's game status. "He's going to play."

Henderson suffered a rib cartilage injury in the fourth quarter of a Week 2 win over the Indianapolis Colts and was inactive for a Week 3 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

He was a limited participant in practices Wednesday and Thursday, according to the Rams' injury report, before being upgraded to full Friday. He's officially listed as questionable.”

:pickle:

the only reason I’d consider benching him now is if Gordon unexpectedly misses this week (I have JaWill) - then I have a difficult choice.

Sony had like two touches through the first two weeks. He averaged about 3.1 yards a carry on his 20 carries.

if Henderson is healthy, I don’t expect Sony to touch the ball much.

it’s possible, but I guess I’m not seeing how he will be a thorn in Henderson‘s side all year. The only ambiguity right now is how healthy Henderson is, IMO
Just got to the team. Faced TB. Did everything asked of him including pass pro and running routes. Don’t discount Sony’s performance.

I’m not. It was what it was. He looked like he’s looked.

But he had 2 weeks to get ready for that game & didn’t look better than Henderson.

Henderson practiced in full. I expect him to get 70% of the touches or more against AZ’s surprisingly not great defense.

all-in on DH this week, he might stomp the Cards here, plant his flag and shove Michel back to the bench. hey thanks for filling in for me last week, but I got this.

expecting a full-on torching of the Cards run defense by DH

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Rams coach Sean McVay expects Darrell Henderson (ribs) to play in Week 4 against the Cardinals.

Henderson sat out last week with the rib injury. In his absence, Sony Michel turned 23 touches into 79 scoreless yards. McVay has been optimistic about Henderson's outlook throughout the week but it's possible that he returns to a timeshare. Henderson gave up just three snaps and one touch to Michel in Week 1 but his health is now a variable McVay has to consider. He is a risky RB2/3 play while Michel can't be trusted until we see a week of the new backfield split.

Henderson seems OK to me.

Sony‘s fumble was costly - I wonder if he will see the field again today.

Henderson showing more power than I remember. Running with some violence.

90%+ of the snaps. I would think they’d use Sony in garbage time though

Well, too risky for me today so had him benched, but saw what I needed to see. He is healthy, showed toughness, running strong and effectively, on a great offense, and will not be overtaken by Sony. In fact, Sony is just what the doctor ordered to keep Henderson fresh and effective imho.

High-end RB2 - Low-end RB1 ROS, barring injury.....which, admittedly, is a constant risk. If healthy, he's gonna return great value in relation to ADP. Giddy up.

I loved the 5 receptions on 6 targets. That’s been missing from his game & gives him a much higher PPR floor so long as it continues. The occasional TD is a bonus & we know he’ll be in on short yardage (even if they called terrible plays today in that situation).

low-end RB1 ROS as long as he’s healthy.

Darrell Henderson rushed 14 times for 89 yards in the Rams' Week 4 loss to the Cardinals, adding five receptions for 27 additional yards.

We worried Henderson might find himself in something of a timeshare with Sony Michel after Henderson played into coach Sean McVay's durability concerns with his Week 2 ribs injury. That was a mistake, and a moot point after a horrific Michel first quarter fumble. Henderson picked up where he left off before the injury, looking dangerous side to side and stacking up chunk gains even as the Rams' offense otherwise looked out of sync. Most importantly, he stayed healthy ahead of a short-week matchup with the Seahawks' egregious run defense. Henderson will be a top-18, and you could argue much higher, running back for Week 5.

The one series at the 4 inch line where they tried to sneak Stafford on 3rd, then on 4th faked to Henderson going right (where he would have walked in) and rolled left to throw incomplete to Kupp.....maddening.

Didn't impact the outcome of my matchup, but frustrating to see McVay be too cute.  Again.

I felt the same.  Especially as a Stafford/Henderson/Gay stack - I expect to come away from the RZ with *something*

fortunately I’m the leading scorer this week in my league so it didn’t make a difference, but man that was maddening.

Darrell Henderson rushed 17 times for 82 yards and a touchdown in the Rams' Week 5 win over the Seahawks, adding a 17-yard reception.

Henderson came out and dominated first quarter work before giving the Rams and fantasy managers a scare when he seemed to injure his left arm. Sony Michel dominated touches the remainder of the half, but Henderson was never officially announced with an injury and thankfully resurfaced looking no worse for the wear after the break. His five-yard touchdown rumble came on a stretch play cutback early in the third quarter. Henderson has looked laterally explosive since returning from his ribs issue, but he continues to give the Rams reason to doubt his ability to hold up on big workloads. He will nevertheless remain a high-end RB2 for Week 6 against the Giants.

He looks good, but I still don't trust McVey.
He looked great. That Michel drive for the TD was a kick in the peanuts to Henderson owners looking for a GREAT game.

Don’t get me wrong. He was still really good, but that felt like a vultured drive for fantasy.

Real football for the Rams it all worked out fine and can’t knock them for how it played out.

DH starting in both leagues I have him but I can't really get upset after watching Sony's incredible blitz pickup on that drive. Dude earned that score. My tune may change based on my game results Sunday, though.

Darrell Henderson rushed 21 times for 78 yards and a touchdown in the Rams' Week 6 win over the Giants, adding two receptions for 29 yards and a touchdown.

Henderson picked up his second touchdown of the day on a 25-yard floater from Matthew Stafford. He now has five scores in as many games. Henderson also has at least 16 touches in every game this year. Sony Michel earned nine carries and was not targeted. Henderson has cemented himself as a workhorse runner when healthy and gets the benefit of playing on a high-scoring offense. He should continue to post RB1 numbers in a dream fantasy matchup versus the Lions next week.

Darrell Henderson rushed 11 times for 55 yards, adding three yards on three catches in the Rams' Week 9 loss to the Titans.

Henderson briefly left with an ankle injury in the second quarter but quickly returned to the game. Still, it wasn't a great script for him, as the Rams were trailing the entire game and he was able to muster just 11 carries. Henderson is still the clear RB1 ahead of Sony Michel and should be started in all formats next week despite his disappointing performance on Sunday Night Football. Don't panic.

Coach Sean McVay said Darrell Henderson suffered a quad strain in the Rams' Week 12 loss to the Packers.

Henderson will be "monitored" this week ahead of the Rams' Week 13 date with the lowly Jaguars. If Henderson would need to sit the next game out, Sony Michel would be a candidate for 20 touches with the Rams as home favorites. Michel would likely play at least 70% of the snaps if Henderson sits.

Darrell Henderson (quad) did not practice Wednesday.

While Henderson starts the week with a DNP and will be "monitored" all week, coach Sean McVay expects Henderson to be available against the Jaguars. We'll see. Sony Michel remains a strong hold as a potential plug-and-play RB1/2.

Right - he also indicated today that Henderson should be ready to go on Sunday.
Yep - said he “expects” him to play, and described it as “minor“. Also worth noting, he strained his quad in the game, but played several other snaps after, apparently. that would seem to be good news, but then again, McVay says a lot of things.lol

Worth noting that the last time he said he “expects” Henderson to play, it was after he’d missed a week with the rib cartilage injury, and indeed, he played and dominated snaps.

Also, just saw the CBS update. They said he was “tending to a thigh issue”. They’re usually in lock-step with rotoworld, strange to see them differ on this one.

You would think that the Rams could beat the Jaguars without Henderson but their last 3 games have not gone well so who knows.  My guess is that he sits this one out.

Fantasydoctors says he has a quad strain and will likely be out this week and possibly even next week. They've been right more often than wrong. We'll see.

yeah, just watched this myself and it's convinced me that Sony Michel will be the RB this week.  Not sure I would take the coach's "He'll be fine" word for it.  Seems HIGHLY optimistic based on what the doctor just said.

A light quad strain usually is a 1-2 week absence whereas a moderate quad strain (if they push it) would be a trip to the IR.

Darrell Henderson (quad, questionable) was limited in Friday's practice.

It is a step in the right direction after he opened the week with two DNPs. Already labeled questionable earlier on Friday, this limited practice suggests Henderson at least has a shot to play. The Rams play Sunday afternoon, so we will hopefully get some reporting on Henderson's status ahead of the early games. Sony Michel will be a high-upside play if Henderson is forced to sit.

Questionable after limited practice
December 3, 2021
Henderson (thigh) returned to practice Friday as a limited participant and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Jacksonville, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
ANALYSIS
Rams head coach Sean McVay already revealed that Henderson and Odell Beckham (hip) will be game-time decisions ahead of Sunday's 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff, but only Beckham was deemed as expected to play. If Henderson is made inactive, Sony Michel could be tasked with a three-down role, much like he handled Week 3 (74 percent snap share, 20 carries, four targets), when Henderson missed a win over Tampa Bay due to a rib injury. With depth back and special teamer Buddy Howell (thigh) already ruled out for Sunday's game, the Rams may promote Javian Hawkins and/or Mekhi Sargent from the practice squad before Sunday even if they anticipate Henderson playing.
