RB Darrell Henderson, LAR (2 Viewers)

Rapoport tweet more optimistic than Schefter. At this point I don't think the Rams can take any team for granted. They need to win, and Henderson gives them the best chance to win. If he can play I think he will,  but if the game is well in hand (which is expected) surely Michel will take over. I would prefer to avoid this backfield but I have to play Michel or Henderson. ugh...

#Rams WR Odell Beckham Jr., slowed this week with a hip injury, is expected to play today and he should be a bigger part of the offense, source said. As for RB Darrell Henderson (thigh), he is hopeful to play today even if he may not have a full workload.
Except this is consistent with what McVay has been saying all week. So in this case I trust Rap more. I think Schefter is trying to get a jump on the breaking news. It’s stuff like this that’s a pet peeve of mine with this sport.

I understand Henderson owners are going to be squeezed today but I also would like to say Sony Michel is a terrible option and has done very little when given an opportunity to handle starting duties or more touches, he doesn't cash in.

I could see Michel getting about 75-80 yds but I think Staff will handle the heavy lifting and the Rams are pissed and they have JAX and they are going to get things right today. Even when it's mop up time I expect a different RB to handle the who cares touches in the 4th Q.
Who else is there to handle mop up duty though? They just put their 3rd RB on the depth chart on IR.

MJD is by far the worst fantasy player in the world.  His predictions are hilariously wrong all the time.  He would come in last in a casual league, even with inside knowledge.
Yes, no question, but he helped me to a ‘ship with his playing. People have been chasing “the next great” Jacksonville back ever since.

I wouldn't paint it quite so optimistically.  Is an injured Henderson really their "best chance" to win...  Or is it simply time for the next man up?   There is something to be said for letting Henderson get back toward 100%.

Of course, if you have both, you can wait for a GTD.   And, as always, it depends on your options.  I wouldn't be comfortable with Henderson but, in a pinch, Sony could prove to be a viable option today.

Seems like their best chance to win is to just let Stafford dominate with ease and then lean on Sony and whoever the next man up is. I don't think Henderson affects their chances that much. They're clear favorites regardless.

I have several teams in the FBG semifinals with Henderson, so I have been hoping he will be healthy and play. In all the spots except one I have really good other options. Thankfully. But I'm planning on him being out.

But in one spot there is nothing and I did manage to pick up Boone (whoo hoo) and can wait to find out this afternoon if Henderson goes. But in another spot my only other option is a morning kickoff with Jones II and Burkhead. I picked up Boone there as well but if Henderson sits I would much rather have Jones and Burkhead. Sucks hard.

If Henderson is out I hope Stafford goes 400/4/0

I’ll miss the double TDs though.

Trusting Rap over Schefty is horrible advice

I don’t trust any of them any more. That’s my point.

What I don’t trust is a reporter who at 6 AM is saying something that’s inconsistent with what the coach/team said the day before. In general I trust Shefty. On this one I think it’s a slow news day & he’s speculating on the side of caution. A fair approach, but still a sounds like a BS update.

Gonna plug in Michel and keep my fingers crossed.  really rolling the dice this weekend with Michel and Sanders in my lineup.

In this case, the correct order of trustworthiness when it comes to injuries is:

Schefter————————>Rap- ———————————————-> Any NFL coach ever

I still have Michel in, thinking he will split at worst and take over at best (if they get a lead), I sure wish Henderson was out though.

What are you guys doing with that. Can we feel comfortable starting him?

Really tough call, esp for guys with limited options.
I have to start 3 of these 4: RB Henderson, WR Aiyuk, WR Jefferson, TE Knox. Even though he will be active, I don't trust him to get enough snaps or touches, and plan to roll with the others, even though Knox faces the Patriots, which allows the fewest points to opposing TEs.

Dugger is out so Knox looks a bit better. Even if Dugger were playing Knox is the safer choice. I may start Duvernay in a league that scores return yardage. Really tough to play Henderson here.

I'm not worried about Michel taking the job. His pass protection is non existent and he can't do goaline.

I don’t know about that. He is looking really good. I’m concerned that with this performance he will be tough to keep on the bench.
He got Stafford killed at least twice while I was watching and cost them a few other plays by missing blocks.

I would have accepted the points but I think Henderson does better against Jax if given 28 touches.
The problem is that would never happen. The most he has had is 21. That is encouraging. The Rams want to run it more. Henderson can continue to get his normal workload (15 carries a game) and Michel shouldn’t eat into that.

Never underestimate McVey switching on a dime.  Remember what he did to a healthy Todd Gurley with CJ Anderson and Malcom Brown?

Don't get it twisted, Michel is a former 1st round draft pick. He's got talent. Anybody would produce in that LA offense. Michel took 97% of the snaps. 97%.

I don't even think Derrick Henry gets that workload, lol.

lol no.  The RB picks in that draft were historically bad. He isn't a 1st round talent.  He has the ability to step in vs a scrub team running out the game clock and produce.  Perfect game script for him.  If he was good NE would have kept him.

Cluster coming....no doubt.

Just in time for the stretch, of course.....

:wall:
Yep, I have both and this is the worst case scenario. I think there is room for at least Henderson to have his normal roll since they want to run more.
I know people are saying that Michel is no good. He just produced better then Henderson has all year and it’s not like the Jax run DST is the worst they have faced.

Henderson, whether it's 60/40 or 75/25 depends on game script.
I don't think we can make this assessment after yesterday. Could run the gamut depending on how McVay wants to run the offense. Henderson may have more explosiveness than Sony, and is probably better in pass pro, but McVay may try to use Henderson more situationally to keep him healthy.

I'll be surprised. The performance of a fresh backup with 4 years of samples against one of the worst teams in the league should not influence future decision making.

Maybe - the Jags have not been that of a defense though. Henderson has been solid, but it's not like we're talking about a McCaffrey or Cook coming back to re-inherit his job.

Jags are one of the worst defenses in the league that had an outlier performance against the Bills. Sony is fine with the ball in his hands, but his issues when the ball is not in his hands limits his usage in any offense...but especially McVay's.

McVay didn't say as much in his post-game comments below, but who knows. IMO, it's really a crapshoot how the RB distribution will be going forward.
