Great game and a lot to be excited about. Don't sleep on Zeke.
last night looked an awful lot like the same Cowboys I saw last year with Dalton behind center.
All offseason the talk was about establishing the run, leaning on Zeke, getting Zeke back to his roots, best shape of his life, etc.
I didn’t imagine these things - here’s a sampling:

And yet they played shotgun almost exclusively. I’d say “exclusively”, but I got up to get a taco at one point & missed a play or two. I know how importantly folks take accuracy on here, so I’m hedging just in case there was a play called behind center I missed.
Folks are saying this was smart football by the Cowboys. Look how close they were to winning like this.look how tough TB’s run D is. Why even try to run it?
I’ve watched a lot of football. I’ve never seen a team so invested in a RB act so scared to run the ball.
They came out one dimensional, and I’m a little shocked the game was even close as a result.
I’ll believe Dallas wants to run the ball when I see it. 1 game, small sample size, sure. I was shocked by that game plan. It looked like Dallas surrendered the run game before even trying. Maybe it was on Martin’s absence. I’ve conceded that possibility. But if Zeke is such a weapon, why run him into the flat & ignore him every time?
For whatever their reasoning, the game plan the Cowboys came out with shrunk the playbook, and produced an exciting game that IMO, wasn’t great football.
I’d be very weary of EE until I see Dallas actually commit to the run.
I’m sure everyone will disagree with this, and that’s ok. We all have our takes.
