RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt, WAS (1 Viewer)

Just something I've noticed recently...it's kinda funny watching people tap dance around Jeanty and his 19 for 60 tonight with the blistering sub-4.0 YPC on the season, lol, all the while not giving Bill and his 4.7 YPC the same grace with his situation. And Jeanty with hands like Michael Myers for the INT. Bill would've been ripped a new butthole.

Good stuff, haha.
Wait! Are you suggesting the #6 pick gets more leeway than the #245 pick?????

I can't imagine why.
Draft capital doesn't change the facts. Jeanty looks every bit as bad. Give Bill the same workload.
TBH Jeanty appears to be a RB
Led the team in opportunities again.

JCM 11
Rodriguez 6
McNichols 6

Point isn't he is ahead of the others, it's Kingsbury sucks at using RBs.
Rodriguez injured his shoulder too, prolonging the agony a little longer for JCM truthers.

Dropping him in redraft this week.
Just realized week 14 is going to be a RB Byepocalypse for me. Rico, McCaffrey and Henderson are on the bye leaving me with ETN.

It's either keep JCM, who is at MIN in week 14 or drop him for Pacheco or Hunt who play HOU in KC in week 14 or Tony Pollard who is at CLE in week 14.

What a buncha terrible options.

Makes you wonder if Bill is in Dan and Kliff’s doghouse…
Why would he be? No recent fumbles and he runs as hard as anyone on the roster
IMO, he’s been their best back all season, and he certainly has the most long-term potential. But, the rumor is that he’s gonna be a healthy inactive tomorrow. So, I’m just trying to make sense of why that may be…
Where is this rumor?

4 active RBs and I don't care (do not set your lineups according to this because I've missed announcements and coachspeak) but if Bill gets carries today, today is his day. In Madrid. He's going to Hemingway his way to running like the bulls. I expect greatness.

Thank you. Please always include links for things like this like you did here.

How’s that working so far? 🤦

It’s so over for this guy. Even if C-Rod gets hurt, it probably doesn’t make Bill anything more desperation play. This guy is all hype.

I mean, I guess you can hope that they get him more involved after the bye. That tends to be something that happens for rookies. But, I dropped him during the last WW run, and I’m not looking back.

You can still see the latent athletic ability, if he can improve on the mental aspects of the game there’s still a lot to like dynasty wise. Maybe a slight bit more patience in reading the blocking then hitting the available hole, as he has really great burst. If he can get past the first level he looks so dangerous. Not an unreasonable expectation given he’s a rookie.

He has to do something special in a hurry and, that doesn't seem likely ATM. Rodriguez is seizing his opportunities so, if JCM can't showcase his wares I am now moving to the "Commanders keep looking for RBs in the off-season" camp.

Jacory Croskey-Merritt rushed nine times for 28 yards and caught one pass for 5 yards in the Commanders’ Week 11 loss to the Dolphins.

Chris Rodriguez drew the start in this game and saw 15 carries. Bill didn’t see his first touch of the day until the Commanders’ third drive. Rodriguez already had eight carries to his name. Croskey-Merritt has been fully relegated to a backup role. He will barely register as an RB5 when the Commanders take on the Broncos after their Week 12 bye.

He only played 18 of 67 snaps (27%). Barring some undisclosed injury it's looking like his flaws have relegated him to a backup.

And got touches on 10 of them. You can make the argument that cost Washington the game. Rodriguez was running really well and they basically ignored him the last quarter and a half.

Many dynasty owners never learn this. The JCM types are replaceable level talent. Your best option is to turn him into future picks and give your roster more flexibility. Gainwell, Carter, and the Dowdle types are all available for a low price if you need similar production now.
It sure looks like you and @msudaisy26 were right about Bill all along.

For now!

Way to early for victory laps, plus I am not a big believer in taking them. I get things wrong almost often as I get them right. He is still a decent flier and I would pick him up in dynasty as a cheap throw in or off waivers.

Burning and churning the JCM types is how you win leagues and maintain roster flexibility. Acquiring futures gives contenders extra injury insurance this time of year. IDK many owners that want JCM. I know plenty of non-contenders who want futures picks.

And I agree with MSU. Now is the time to get JCM if you like him. I might throw out some offers in best-ball leagues (I don't want him in start'em leagues; he doesn't catch passes).

Washington will most assuredly bring in RB competition whether it be in FA or the draft. If they believed in JCM, he'd be getting more run. He's not.

I still think the flash everybody saw and wrote about is there and you would never, ever hear me say Rodriguez is JAG because I tried my *** off to add him and liked his toughness. That said, the coaching staff is still getting Bill game reps and what seem to be reps in the passing game. Draft capital does matter to teams even two years in (the people telling you it doesn't are incorrect) but Washington's behavior doesn't match the contra side to JCM, which is that they think of him as expendable. I haven't seen or read a thing that hints at that.

If Quinn gets fired and you find a taker, then sell, but I'd say that about any back. Anyway, good luck, you true believers. You were the bellwethers of 2025 and surely early ownership and recognition of Bill is correlated with either disaster in FF in the hands of foolish dreamers or smashing success found with unrepentant tea leaf readers who adjust their priors and thusly pivoted to other players. As the Commanders wind their season down with Bill backing up other running backs, we can say that there's been no true payoff on this ride yet (nor even the triumphant shouts of "dollar dollar Bill, y'all," but there has been intermittent joy. It's been a bit like life, and you still have Week 17 in Dallas as your potential lodestar. I wouldn't call you irrational nor stubborn if you decide, after looking at the schedule, to HODL and fill your souls with thoughts alight.

And betting against late round RBs is a great bet. It's not really that much fun to do that, I think that's the main issue.
It is much more fun to join the gold rush.

In my leagues, the very last RB taken in the draft, JCM, was being drafted in flex-ish areas of the draft. I'm sure that was common.
That is just bad business. History is CLEAR on this. He went waaaay to early in almost every draft July or after.

Gold Rush doesn't do JCM justice. He was tulips in 1630's Holland, he was Pets.com in the 90s.
