RB Javonte Williams, DAL (5 Viewers)

It looked like he suffered a minor injury, possibly to his ankle. After his 2nd to last carry he motioned to the sideline to take him out and they replaced him with Jaleel. Javonte was out on the first play of the next series, he got a carry, and it sure looked like he took himself out again. Then no more snaps but the game was well out of hand.

I saw him in a post game interview and he seemed normal so I doubt he’s dealing with anything serious
Well that would explain it, thanks.

Welcome back, Javonte.
Started him in 3 of 4 leagues I roster him, somewhat due to attrition. In the 4th league, I’m happy he’s on my bench since I’m 1-5 and glad to loose out for a better draft slot next yea.

IDK over the last three games he looks like the best offensive player on the Broncos.

FIGHT ME!!!
Coach is infatuated with rotating
Yes he is but he also seems to acknowledge Javonte is his best option for Nix. Through three quarters Javonte has 15 opportunities to seven total for the other RBs.

I don't trust this is the trend RoS but the McLaughlin experiment seems to be trending down. Now we need to see how the Estime factor plays out.

Oh...then Badie comes off IR so, maybe...sell high?

This is the first game where he's not rotating like musical chairs after every run.

I don't trust this coach either, but hard not to at least flex him in lineups next week vs Carolina.

I'm not sure that is reality. Before this week he had a 59% snap share and has never been below 51.5%. I don't know how tonight will impact that but it is reasonable to be optimistic about Javonte going forward.

I'm definitely not afraid to admit when I was wrong about a player, and boy oh boy is Javonte's stock rising. Maybe he needed a wake up call, maybe he was ramping up all along. It's clear Javonte is looking more and more like his old self each week. Good for him. He is a player that's so easy to root for. Continued health and success to him.

Over 30% snap share for Jaleel is far too high. The ratio is even worse when you count actual touches.

JW sees more snaps because he can pass protect.

****59 rushes vs 36 by Jaleel coming in***** and 26 targets vs 13

Hopefully tonight puts things to rest once and for all.

Javonte Williams rushed 14 times for 88 yards and two touchdowns in the Broncos’ Week 7 win over the Saints, adding three receptions for 23 yards.

Coming off an awful day against the Chargers, Williams rebounded with just the second two-touchdown game of his career, and first since 2021. His 111 yards from scrimmage matched his season high from two weeks ago against the Raiders. Perhaps most promisingly for Williams? Rookie Audric Estime lost a soft fumble this evening and seems unlikely to challenge Williams’ early-down supremacy any time soon. Williams is severely game-script sensitive in this limited offense, but the Panthers are a cake Week 8 matchup that should get him into the top 24.
- Rotoworld
Snap%
Javonte Williams - 63% (41/65)
Jaleel McLaughlin - 22% (14/65)
Audric Estime - 9% (6/65)

As the President of the Draft Javonte Williams club, I am ashamed to say I waivered a few weeks ago.

I honestly didn't have the stones to start him in several leagues tonight. In 3 of my most important leagues, I started him out of necessity.

I Think the arrow definitely points up. Nix's wheels will continue to help open running lanes. The defense will keep a lot of games close, so that the game script doesn't force them abandon the run. I don't know how many more 2 TD nights he has in him, but good days are ahead.

He's not matchup proof.

I benched him last week vs the Chargers, I played him the week before vs Vegas and I played him this week as well.

Some of you guys have been overthinking things. Play the matchups, he isn't a set and forget superstar.

Are you going through the impeachment process right now?

Laughing emoji. I probably should.

That's fair. I'm not sure he'll be used all that heavily in negative game scripts, despite his receiving prowess.

Never understood the Jaleel love this season. He's been their worst runner at 3.2 yards per attempt and also 2.3 yds per reception coming in.
He's been looking better each game. He's now up to 30 targets on the season which is great to see. Started him in one league and I've been trying to trade for him in multiple others. Finally got an offer accepted yesterday in one league right before the game.

He's now getting 65% of the snaps which is great to see. Estime with his fumbles may have just fumbled his season away. McLaughin is a nice change of pace back but he can't pound the rock.

Sean Payton may have just found his Mark Ingram.

Going away from the usual 60/40 carry split with Jaleel was the most encouraging thing to see. JW needs to build upon it so Payton forgets about his man crush with the little gadget guy.

Patience certainly paying off on Javonte is not only is the production increasing, but you're seeing more and more of that physical tackle breaking ability he flashed prior to his injury.

Yes, the NO DST is awful. Mailing it in awful so I suspect that D. Allen could be a candidate to get his pink slip any day now. But at the very least, you can play match-ups confidently here and his arrow is pointing up for more.

A great example of drafting for the 2nd half of the season.

Only one share of Javonte, but nice to see last night. Ran hard and looked somewhat shifty. Of course, it was the Saints and it helps to have an actual hole to run through.

Was very surprised early in the game (2nd possession) when they threw the ball on 3rd and 1 in the red zone with Javonte mashing the D early and Nix missing early throws. Run the damn ball in that situation.

Much respect amigo. Almost always when someone has a strong take and it doesn't work out they slink away never to be heard from again. Everybody has misses. I respect anyone who acknowledges a mistake, learns, and moves forward.

As someone who came into this thread (or maybe the Badie one?) when things were looking dire and advised a buy-low on Javonte, I'll say that Javonte's ROS outlook is still a little clouded. Javonte was never going to get cut as several said was sure to happen and even after last night someone above asked if they should sell when Badie comes back which, again, feels like an odd interpretation of the situation. Javonte is the top dog in this backfield but he needs to play better and he needs to play with more consistency. Last night he played well but the week before he played terrible. Also Payton's erratic deployment of his RBs remains a problem. Hopefully last night was the new norm but if you look back over the full season it seems like Javonte is rarely able to get into a rhythm and in the games where he isn't getting consistent touches (which is most of them) it seems like he is pressing and making more mistakes. If we could count on a steady 14 carries a game for JW then I'd feel more bullish but after the Panthers game next week I fear more 5 and 6 carry games could be on the horizon.

Thanks. We'll never know what might have been if Badie didn't go down, but something lit a fire under Javonte or maybe he's just been building steam.

I'm more concerned with how he looks vs usage at the moment. If he performs, Payton will find ways to get him the ball. The Javonte I've seen the last 4 weeks is not the Javonte I watched the season plus before that. This version is running with power, refusing to go down, and showing good vision. This version is much closer to the version we saw during his rookie year. Maybe he's gaining confidence and forgetting about how much that injury hurt. I applaud him. I'm a fan, always have been, even during the down times. I thought he was cooked. He's obviously not.

Now saying that, I agree with your take that we need to temper our expectations short term. Usage is still not where we need it and Saints look like they've quit. Still, Javonte's stock is most certainly trending up.

I'm super curious how many people across fantasy land benched him last night. I truly avoided him in most drafts this offseason but put two shares of him on my board in early September drafts (and I have at least some BB representation).

I did decide to bench him earlier this week until maybe 30 minutes before kickoff yesterday and begrudgingly stuck him back in, mostly because my other options for RB2 weren't great. Soooo glad I did. Really like to see the emergence of Franklin and Vele they should trade Sutton for a bag of chips someone wants him. Maybe Cleveland (who says no?)

I benched him behind Achane & Connor for Week 7. I almost added JW in as my flex, but I have this nagging idea about Thursday night games, low scoring from a RB to start the weekend. I have to say, the FBG prognostication tools available told me that I should have him in my lineup. I chose not to. He would have paired very nicely with my Denver DST last night.

I Definitely benched him. He was my flex play and I picked...lets just say a lot of other questionable options over him, but they have a chance to pay off, but not quite this high.

Benched him for Tyler A this week. Like someone stated earlier it’s about matchups wi this dude. He will definitely be in the lineup next week against Carolina.
