RB Jaylen Wright, MIA (1 Viewer)

Officially not touching ANY Miami RB, the team is going to be a dumpster fire... and if Wright doesn't do anything this season; he's droppable

Based on Mcdaniels comments I’m assuming he is an IR candidate.
Wright is week to week says McDaniel

Per CBS Sports "Wright walked off the practice field slowly Thursday and then was spotted with a sleeve on his right leg and without crutches ahead of Saturday's exhibition."
No crutches is a very good sign. He might miss week 1, certainly up in the air right now

-I would be buying OG2 shares the rest of this weekend, he's like a double digit pick, if you cut him 2-3 weeks later when Achane and Wright return no big deal
But if OG2 seizes the opp and pushes Wright to the bench and can help Achane by carrying some of the load, you might have a little more than you initially thought

I would not sleep on Gordon, he's looked better than anyone thus far and could be a factor early for Miami which has a relatively soft opening schedule
@Colts, NE, then @Buf before hosting the Jets and @Carolina
4 of those 5 games are winnable for the Phins

The reason I think he's an IR candidate is after saying he was week to week he added there are things they are looking at "procedurally". The only thing that can mean to me is they are examining an injury designation for him that would keep him out the first 4 weeks.

Looked at drafts last night were I mainly play and Gordon has moved up to round 12 range, which is actually a little higher then Wright was going when it looked like he had a clear runway to the RB2 job. I think he's going to inch up higher, with a multiple round vault if any negative news on Achane playing week one comes about.

Marcel Louis-Jacques
Dolphins RB Jaylen Wright had a "small procedure" done that isn't season-ending but will take some time to recover from, per McDaniel

Miami has signed RBs Jeff Wilson and JaMycal Hasty in response
Jeff Wilson is probably a thorn in the Ollie movement.
As an Ollie owner this is likely true and makes me sad. Having said that Ollie has looked really good so lets hope he takes the job and runs with it.

Possibly but we’re talking about the same Jeff Wilson who did nothing in 2023 and 2024 with the Dolphins, then was released a few weeks ago by his other old team the Niners despite their own depth issues.

I think Wilson becomes a factor only if Gordon really struggles.

After reading more about Wright having procedure done, is he droppable?
Sounds like a knee scope and could return by the end of September.

But, Ollie looks better, and of course Achane is much better. Before the injury, the local writers were saying Jaylen doesn't have good vision. And Jeff Wilson would also get carries if Achane is out, cause he plays special team. Droppable, but Wright is still only 22. Maybe he eventually returns to the form he displayed in the NE game last year when Achane was out. He's a Feldman athletic freak.

Rumors and Rekless Speculation...
LA Chargers starting to be whispered around here, I'm getting texts asking if this is real

Anyone got an actual news clip on this?
I felt like the Chargers would immediately go out and sign or trade for a RB, apparently Ollie Gordon has passed Wright who was coming off an injury in the preseason
Is Hassan Haskins firmly entrenched now as the compliment to Hampton?

I don't think I have to spell out how good this would be for Wright if he's not going to get any touches in Miami
Rumor is the Chargers had interest in him last season at the Draft
Cheap RB to bring in for a couple seasons on a rookie deal

Wow how the bloom has fallen off the rose.

This guy is a FA in dynasty leagues now...
I only play dynasty and he's rostered in all of them (6), but I agree, he's hit rock bottom. I wouldn't be surprised if he starts showing up on the waiver wire in my leagues.

He got dropped in 2 overnight in waivers of the 6 leagues I am in.

One league has them held as a locked player until Midnight

Prob not worth setting the alarm to make this move tonight

But I HAVE done this too many times in the past...

Yes he’s been cut in a few of mine.

It is what it is. Gordon took his job.

Trade is his only hope. Saw last week Fowler speculating on Chiefs but he sounded like he was spitballing.
He got hurt right?
And the guy that took his job, looking at his stats

18 carries, 60 yards, 1 TD
1 catch 5 yards

Thru 4 games

I think there is a chance Wright gets another chance...

Through injury AND performance Gordon took his job and that ship sailed though if Achane went down he’d be the lesser part of a RBBC with Gordon.

He’s been healthy for a few weeks now and does not play.

Gordon’s handled a lot of short yardage stuff, needs to be taken in context of examining his YPC.

Is anyone starting to see Wright hit the waiver wire in dynasty leagues? My guess is that you may start to see that as owners get frustrated. It's too early, but signs are pointing to 3 miles to Bustville and your car is traveling at 70 mph.

I cut him
I haven't cut him yet in dynasty, but I thought of Wright this morning and how we felt about him when drafted verses now. Again, it may be too early to outright cut him, but I get it.

It would take an injury to Achane or Gordon for Wright to have an impact this year. Or perhaps fumbles by Gordon.

Ollie outplayed Wright in the preseason and has looked good in the regular season, even outgrading Achane in game 3. He has vision and breaks tackles. The pundits in Miami say Wright doesn't have good vision. He showed promise early last year in the game Achane missed vs NE. But nothing after that.

Not someone to hang on to the water wagon for most likely.

Wright is just the right player to cut from rosters
I traded away Javonte so I could keep this guy on my opening week FFPC dynasty roster.........that did not turn out well and Wright my 2nd round pick last year is already gone from my team and what did I get for Javonte ? A 2026 2nd so ya this sucks.

Rumors also say he is a trade candidate. Worth a stash?
My view is that it can't go anywhere but up. He didn't look good as a rookie and he's non-existenent now and is third string at best. Sometimes guys are what you think they are.

McDaniel is an a$$ clown
He sounds like it sometimes in interviews.

But don't forget that McDaniel got a 31-year old Mostert to 21 TDs in 2023, gave Tyreek his best 2 seasons (better than with HOFs Mahomes & Reid), and coached Tua to MVP conversation. Wright is as much a GM failure - poor scouting.

Something tells me McDaniel has nothing left he can use to say, but remember when?

I have been actively doing this for weeks on a lot of teams.

He's 22 years old and barely logged 70 career touches. Has not been horrible, just did not take the world by storm on his limited chances.

Check out the PFF grades for LG Jonah Savaiinaea and our RG & RT. Historically bad grade for Jonah. Bad grades for RG, RT. C Brewer is good at run blocking, so-so at pass blocking, while LT Paul is the opposite. An IMMOBILE. QB. What can McDaniel do?

The word from beat writers is poor vision. One good game last year vs NE, that's the upside.
Sorry but I can't get behind beat writers scouting reports or saying that one good game was his upside because of what I said earlier, he's 22 years old and has barely played. Also is form a system in college that can be a rough adjustment to the NFL.
