Bengals RB Joe Mixon said he called for a meeting with the team's offensive line to talk about the run game, which has struggled. Mixon: "I think that’s going to take us a long way, especially down the road." Said the staff and players are all on the same page.
Mixon on why’s he’s encouraged despite the low rushing numbers: “If you watch the film, we’re literally just one piece away or one block away. Whether it’s frontside, backside or me seeing something and actually hitting it faster. Everything goes hand-in-hand.”
Mixon has games like this. He always has and he has stretches of games like this and then he explodes for a couple of weeks. He is an RB2. He always will be with RB1 upside. They were okay with scoring on that last goal line series but also okay not scoring wanted to run the clock down and make Miami use their timeouts. Mixon also was a little dinged up coming into the game. He got a lot of dump offs which is good in PPR. Mixon will be fine just have reasonable expectations for him.
In the Miami game there weren't many holes. Miami has 3 dline players who have graded out very high versus the run, Wilkins, Sieler, and Phillips. However, I thought Mixon could've taken the play outside on a few plays instead of attacking a non-existent hole. He's only averaged above 4.1 ypc once in 5 years. He may not be 100% either.Local sports guy is worried that Mixon may have lost a step from what he has seen. Brought up how several running backs just hit a wall and they are done.
I'll take the side that the local sports guy just needs something to write about over a 26 year old hitting a wall.Local sports guy is worried that Mixon may have lost a step from what he has seen. Brought up how several running backs just hit a wall and they are done.
It does seem a little early for Mixon to have hit a wall but he does seem a little less explosive. Maybe it’s a nagging injury and it heals up soon.I'll take the side that the local sports guy just needs something to write about over a 26 year old hitting a wall.Local sports guy is worried that Mixon may have lost a step from what he has seen. Joe Mixon rushed 14 times for 78 yards in Cincinnati's Week 5 loss to Baltimore, adding three catches for 10 yards on three targets.
The good news? Mixon rushed for 5.6 yards per carry, was a big part of Cincinnati's two touchdown drives in terms of consistently gaining yardage, and came one yard short (if that) on a near-touchdown carry in the fourth quarter. The bad news? The usage went down significantly from last week and Samaje Perine also had some success against Baltimore. Mixon remains a locked-in RB1 on usage for a Week 6 bout against a Saints run defense that was gashed at times by Seattle in Week 5.

In a dynasty last week I paid Dobbins, Tyreek Hill and Zamir White for Mixon, AJ Brown and Michael Carter. We balked at Dobbins for Mixon straight and ended here.So what’s it going to take to buy, because we’re buying, right?
Joe Mixon rushed eight times for 45 yards in Cincinnati's Week 6 win over New Orleans, adding four catches for 23 yards and a touchdown on five targets.
The Bengals only ran the ball 14 times all game with a negative game script from the outset and New Orleans stacking the box. When Mixon did get free, he looked good. He also caught a touchdown pass on an inside slant in the red zone, and was targeted another time for an end-zone fade. Mixon remains on the RB1 line and will likely be in most redraft lineups for Week 7's game against the Falcons.

Joe Mixon rushed 17 times for 58 yards and a touchdown in the Bengals' Week 7 win over the Falcons, adding three receptions for 33 additional yards.
It was another inefficient day for the Bengals' lead runner, one where he almost didn't find the end zone. Thankfully for Mixon's fantasy managers, he managed to recover and cross the plane after initially slipping on his one-yard score in the first quarter. Beyond that, Mixon was not an emphasis on a day where Joe Burrow threw for an absurd 481 yards, 345 of which came in the first half. Mixon has yet to have a 100-yard day on the ground this season and has cleared 70 just one time since Week 1. Even with Burrow lighting the world ablaze, Mixon is struggling to average more than 4.0 yards per carry. He will nevertheless remain RB1 adjacent with a soft Week 8 matchup in the Browns.

Decent
45.1 at halftime. Decent.
Joe Mixon rushed 22 times for 153 yards and four touchdowns in the Bengals' Week 9 win over the Panthers, adding four catches on five targets for an additional 58 yards and a touchdown.
Mixon was involved early and often, which was particularly interesting considering the short week after the Bengals suffered a beat down on Halloween night. His first three scores came on the ground from inside two yards, adding a fourth with four seconds remaining in the first half with a beautiful 12-yard reception to the right side of the end zone on a broken play. He would later punch in his career-high fifth touchdown from 14 yards out on the team's final possession of the third quarter before giving way to Samaje Perine for most of the fourth quarter. Mixon and the Bengals head to their bye before traveling to Pittsburgh for a Sunday Night Football divisional showdown with the Steelers in Week 11.

I played against him this week.Auto win for all Mixon owners

I had Fields. Won by a lot.Auto win for all Mixon owners

Hopefully Cincy continues to hand Mixon the ball. Not sure what is so difficult about calling run plays when you have a talented RB.Get right game for the Bengals against a team in tank mode. No Chase has the Bengals go back under center for most of the game (they have been doing a ton of shotgun for the last few weeks). Anyway, confidence builder for them and the offensive line and should open up the offense to give some different looks and options. Should be a positive for Mixon moving forward (though not 5 TDs per week positive)

To be honest it is the best he has looked all year - he really hasn't been getting the YPC and it isn't all on the line in that regard. Hopefully the switch has come back on.

Bengals coach Zay Taylor said Joe Mixon is still in concussion protocol.
Mixon still has a few days to make it through the league's concussion protocol, but his odds of suiting up are trending in the wrong direction. Cincinnati takes on the Titans this week. If Mixon can't go, Samaje Perine will draw the start. Perine played on 70 percent of the Bengals' snaps in Week 11 and would be in line for RB2 fantasy numbers with Mixon out.

Interesting because in fantasy I tend to approach it exactly the opposite way. A concussion is not a knee or hamstring and you are cleared to play or you're not. If you are, you play. What risk does a pitch count mitigate?Even if Mixon plays, I think he will be used mainly for extra blocking in pass protection, would not expect Mixon to carry them to victory, likely a pitch count
Dos anyone have any concrete data of players or RBs that exit with a concussion and then play at a high level the following week or have 20 touches the very next week while being in concussion protocol M-T-W-Th-F?

I’m playing J Williams over Mixon as my RB2 but will put Mixon in at flex if he’s playing.UnderstoodInteresting because in fantasy I tend to approach it exactly the opposite way. Sill would like to see data or what the production is when they don't miss a game.
-Example: Stafford was in concussion protocol 2 weeks, missed the game Cooper Kupp injured himself for the rest of the season.
-Why do some players go 1 week vs 2 weeks?
I'm just trying to gather data more than try to hold a position or put forth my POV.

Joe Mixon (concussion) was not seen at practice Friday.
Mixon, who suffered a brain injury last week, has no chance to suit up in Week 12 against the Titans if he doesn't log a limited Friday session. Samaje Perine would serve as the team's No. 1 back with Mixon out. In Week 11, Perine saw 15 touches and scored three touchdowns on four receptions. Perine would be a PPR RB2 option against the Titans if Mixon is sidelined. Only the Rams have allowed a lower rushing EPA than the Titans in 2022.

Joe Mixon (concussion) is out for Week 12 against the Titans.
Mixon, in the league's concussion protocol after a Week 11 brain injury against the Steelers, hasn't practiced all week. Samaje Perine will take over as the Bengals' lead back against a Tennessee defense allowing the second lowest rush EPA on the season. Perine is a decent PPR RB2 based on his pass-catching opportunity in a Mixon-less Bengals offense.

Who are you considering over Perine? Now that he is out is Perine a rb 2? a flex? This Tenn team seems to be weak against wrs but strong against rb
