I'm definitely a playoff team this year but partly due to being in a weak division. Five other teams in the league have scored more points than I have. If rest of schedule plays out like it should my pick should be between 9 - 12 next year.  The team offering Taylor to me is a potential playoff team this year.

I think a couple of the replies misunderstood who’s offering Taylor.

That said, I’d stick with Taylor, even though it’s a good offer and one that I’d take if I wasn’t contending.   Life is too short to sell out on a season when you’re still in the hunt.

Sounds like such good advice, until you find out that the guy's league's proposed rule change is that whoever owns Jonathan Taylor has to eat an entire live muskrat each hour of every day. Muskrats are not supplied by commish and must be acquired by Taylor owner himself.

Taylor in the off-season will become (as if he hadn’t already) the number 1 dynasty asset in fantasy while the guys you trade away will be mired in the late 30’s-early 40’s and you’ll be kicking yourself for not making the trade.

The league is currently standard scoring and is likely making a gradual shift to PPR scoring. There are also roster limits for each position, so we can currently only carry 7  RBs and 9 WRs. Those limits may change because we are also likely reducing roster size by 2 spots and instituting a 2 player taxi squad for rookies only. Lots of moving pieces.

My main concern is that I'm thin at RB and would potentially be giving up 2 starting RBs to get 1 starting RB. Granted the 1 I'd be getting is a stud and the 2 I'd be giving up are not (at least yet). The owner who offered Taylor to me also has N. Hines so I'm trying to see if there is some way to have him included in the deal without me adding much of anything. I feel like getting Hines would give me a little more depth at RB (especially with the league moving to PPR scoring) and some protection if something happening to Taylor.

I'd take this trade in a heartbeat.  I always love trades where I'm getting the best player in the deal and JT is the #1 dynasty RB out there.  Not every day you get offers with pieces like Taylor involved.

If something happens to Taylor this season Marlon Mack is probably the backup to own.

They're not keeping him off the field for lack of ability. 

Next year's backup probably isn't on the roster.

Sorry, my reading comprehension fail there.

That said, I’d take Taylor.  The possible rule changes either increase his value or are neutral.   PPR gives WRs a boost over 2 down RBs.  Smaller rosters and reduced keepers increases the value of the top players.

looks like a typical scenario where a team is likely stacking the box so the "smart coach" says..."they're stacking the box and now we have a mismatch so lets pass!" even though running the ball has gotten you to where you are today.  So, of course you do what the defense is dictating and you pass (even though you aren't good at it) and then fail.  BRILLIANT!!

Even if boxes are stacked...FORCE the defense to make a play vs. your execution and using your talented back to make defenders miss. TB makes one false play and Taylor takes it to the house

 I hate when I see this thread posted to the top of the page…I’m always thinking he’s been added to the list.  This is the craziest season ever.  No joke if Kelce is out I’ll have 6 of 9 players that I picked up this week in my lineup.

Jonathan Taylor rushed  27 times for 108 yards in the Colts' Week 16 win over the Cardinals.

The Colts' offensive line was down three starters entering Week 16. They then lost starting LT Eric Fisher to a knee injury and fill-in G Chris Reed to a back injury. Taylor definitely felt the effect of the Colts' diminished offensive line. He was frequently bottled up in the second half. Taylor was also targeted twice but didn't catch either. However, Taylor also busted loose for a 47 yard run on the Colts' first play of the game, and he was often too much for even a pile of Cardinals to stop. The Cardinals did hold Taylor out of the end zone, but just barely. Taylor took a carry from the five-yard line down to the one. Carson Wentz threw a TD to T.Y. Hilton on the following play. Taylor gets the Raiders run-funnel defense in Week 17. If his offensive line has more than one starter in action, he looks poised to carry fantasy managers to 2021 championships.

Idk how many times this needs to be gone over but having a ton of carries in college is not only good, but is one of the best predictors that a RB will be able to handle a bellcow role in the NFL. The more carries a guy has, the more likely he is to be able to handle a ton of carries going forward. I believe it’s Harstad who has done a lot of work and posting about this over the years. The NFL RB cliff is almost entirely age-related, not touch-related, other than some red flags with extreme single-season overuse. But career touches? College touches? Nah. The more the merrier, in terms of being a predictor of future success. Coming into the league with “more tread” left on the tires is really not a thing in terms of predicting health or effectiveness at the next level. In fact it’s more often a sign that they weren’t trusted with the load in college for a reason. Until they hit the age cliff, the more bellcow seasons a RB has behind him, the more likely he is to keep racking up high-touch seasons going forward.

Pretty much every coach would love to "save" their stud RB, especially when they have SB aspirations. He'll probably give him a breather here and there in blowouts, but when push comes to shove and it's a 1 score game in the 2nd half, he isn't going to put the game in the hands of Ryan or Hines.
