RB Addai Expected To Play

John Oehser, Colts.com - [Full Article]

Indianapolis Colts RB Joseph Addai practiced for the first time this week today. Addai, who is from Houston, likely will play when the Colts visit the Houston Texans Sunday, HC Tony Dungy said. “It looks like it – he did well today,” Dungy said.

Rookie RB Joseph Addai (low ankle sprain; questionable) returned to practice Friday after his injured ankle made improvement. He's expected to play. "Joseph Addai worked and did well," HC Tony Dungy said after Friday's practice.

Tidbit - Addai needs 83 more yards to become the fourth rookie in team history to surpass the 1,000 yard mark.

From Rotoworld...

FoxSports.com's John Czarnecki reports that Joseph Addai will miss Sunday's game.

Like all early Sunday morning missives from "The Czar", take this with a big grain of salt. The report says Addai will be out "once again" despite the fact Addai hasn't missed a game this season. Addai may still be active and we'd check back at gametime. His owners should be worried, however, that he's not 100%.

Per Foxsports, it sounds like Addai will NOT play this week.

Indianapolis at Houston: Will find out if the Colts are really back if they can stuff Houston's Ron Dayne. The Texans figure to take the heat off David Carr by running Dayne as much as possible. On the flip side, the Colts will be minus rookie RB Joseph Addai and safety Bob Sanders once again. The Colts are hoping that Sanders will be ready for the playoffs. Peyton Manning has thrown for 25 touchdowns in eight consecutive seasons and is coming off his best game of the season.

RB Addai Cleared To Play In Hometown Game

Len Pasquarelli, ESPN - [Full Article]

Despite missing two days of practice this week because of a "low" sprain of his right ankle, rookie RB Joseph Addai was cleared Saturday by team physicians to play in Sunday's game at Houston, and he is expected to assume his normal role in the offense. Addai is a Houston native, and he worked hard this week, for the opportunity to play in front of family and friends.

:shrug:Anyone think playing in his hometown of Houston will be extra incentive for Addai?

They are making it sound like he will, but I think it's a risky start. Last week he was active with an ankle injury and he obviously tweaked it again during the game and was done. I'm worried that he could easily "tweak" it again and be done...I'm pulling the trigger on Rhodes.

That and the fact that he only needs 83 yds to get to 1,000 are why I am starting him this week. Just a hunch.

WOW, bad week to be so off with a ranking. RB15 with Addai at RB32. Projections for Rhodes to have 19 carries and Addai 11. :banned:
