I can confess that I actually took him in the 2nd round of my draft, as RB8 overall.

My plan was to go WR in the mid first and then take whoever fell out of Barkley, Taylor, and Jacobs in the mid 2nd.

Jacobs was the only one of those three left on the board, so I pulled the trigger about 1-2 rounds above ADP. Just had a much higher trust level with him than with Gibbs, Achane, Kyren, Pacheco, Henry, Etienne. While I wouldn't say reaching is generally something to be proud of, the goal is ultimately to draft a team that produces, not the team that looks best on paper in August.

Week 2 is way too early to gloat, but so far so good. Josh Jacobs is who we thought he was!

All the same, I plan to grab Lloyd because he's a talented enough handcuff that I would want to have him in the event of injury.

One day people will learn that as good as the rookie RB might be coming in they might not be given the reigns right off the start. The shiny new toy looks good until it is game day and you need to rely on them to know the playbook and be where the QB needs them to be.

When GB goes out and signs a previous rushing leader (who is a first round NFL draft pick) maybe they want to actually use him. I'm not saying Lloyd can't be good either once he gets healthy but the team is going to roll with the vet who gives them the best chance to win - a vet who won't make as many mistakes as a rookie.

I agree. was pretty sure Jacobs would be good in his new home. he can still play. had a bit of bad luck with the goal line fumble last week but not worried about that. Jacobs is not known for being much of a fumbler. pretty sure hands that way i think.

but hes a solid top 12 RB who we got at a bit of a discount this year.

Jacobs won't put up the same numbers when Love returns. Love prefers to throw, and Jayden Reed will be the one to watch.

Jacobs had 19 touches in game 1 with Love including 16 rushes for 84 yards and 3 targets. He had 73% of the snap share which is very very good. Anything above 65% is good for a starting RB.

Jacobs isn't going anywhere as long as he is healthy. Love has also said he wants to get Jacobs a passing TD so I bet it happens at some point.

Reed and Jacobs don't really take away from each other so you don't have to be worried there.

If Love misses this week it looks like he last week he'll miss and I for one can't wait to see him back before they run Jacobs into the ground.

Jacobs without Love is similar to when SF has to turn to Deebo at RB. I hate it for both of them. People see volume but it's to much wear and tear for low value touches and it comes at sake of receptions.

Yeah I wouldnt count on much while Love is out. If I were a DC facing this offense I'd stack the box and double cover who I felt was the most dangerous WR (likely Reed) and force that backup QB (whoever it may be) to throw to his second read as often as possible and hope to get some INT's out of the deal.

To be fair. Defenses will play the running game alot different with Malik compare to Love.

E. Wilson got too many carries for my touches, but I think they probably took the foot off the gas with Jacobs since they were up so big. He probably needed a break after the previous week getting 30+ touches.

He’s averaging 4.5 ypc right now. If he had two rushing tds nobody would be batting an eye.

Agree 100%. He's had a couple of explosive runs already this year that I didn't see all last season.

Not concerned for the season. Concerned about this matchup.

He's also tied for the NFL lead in long runs (20+ yards) with Henry, Kyler, Barkley, Dobbins, and Taylor.

I don't know... These GB-MIN games rarely go as expected. On paper, after watching three weeks, I would expect the MIN defense to wreak havoc on whichever QB plays for the Pack. That's why I lean towards the opposite happening. I think the MIN defense will struggle a bit this week, mainly with play action, which will in turn open up some room for Jacobs on the ground in the second half. Meanwhile, I think it will actually be the Packers D that dictates the game, pressure-wise, making things uncomfortable for Darnold. Just a gut feeling.

I'm still cautiously optimistic that the Vikes can keep it close and possibly win the game. I just think the script will end up being much different than most would expect. Bottom line... I wouldn't bench Jacobs unless I had some absolute no-brainer studs in front of him.

Other than his 30+ carry game, I feel he has been underutilized. He seems not existent in the passing game.
Maybe he really just isn't that good. I fell for it.
