RB MarShawn Lloyd, GB (1 Viewer)

Where we at with this dude? Anybody that watched him a lot in college can offer any insight to his ball security issues(supposedly fumbled once every 36 touches, which is horrible).

I am a Jacobs owner in dynasty and have a chance to acquire Lloyd for the 3.01 but that coupled with the injuries has me hesitant.
I know my opinion may not be a popular one but I’m not certain he’s the backup when healthy. Emanuel Wilson hasn’t exactly been bad as Jacobs backup. He averaged about 4.8 yards per carry last year with 4TDs and 10 catches on about 100 touches. Maybe Lloyd is better than him but I don’t think we can just assume Lloyd jumps him this year. As a Jacobs and Wilson owner I’d offer a mid to later 3rd rounder for Lloyd if I had the roster space just for peace of mind knowing I have the GB RB position locked up. Having said that I’m not sure a Lloyd owner would be willing to part with him for that as I assume they probably paid a 2nd round rookie pick to draft him.

So I guess an early 3rd isn’t a bad trade for you if you have the roster space but there is uncertainty as to how GB will play both Lloyd and Wilson this year.

I think he's most likely the backup this year, but as others have said, nothing is a given.

I've got him in multiple leagues. I'd pay 3.01 for him if I didn't have him. I don't think I'd give him up for 3.01.

The rookie year was a wash, but I really liked him coming out. Reminds me of Jacobs a little, not super flashy, but he's 5'9, 220, ran a 4.46. Those are lead back traits, IMO. He can catch the ball.

Wheels could fall off Jones any time.

He should be able to beat out Wilson for #2, but that is by no means a given. He’s already 24, so how old will he be before he’s relevant?
RBs that fumble at that rate don't last long in the NFL. The market is tight. Sometimes teams have a bit more patience depending on where a player was drafted but that is a short lease.

Small hands, so emphasis on securing the ball has to be a deal. He's well spoken & I love 'backs that are disproportionately low, run with a wide base and possess that twitchy suddenness. I'm not going to pretend I can help you with your decision but I really love this player I'll be adding really late in redraft.

Some concern regarding this practice injury which was initially reported to have been caused by a hard tackle.

From Schneidman
Brian Gutekunst says MarShawn Lloyd’s injury was not caused by Nate Hobbs’ hit in practice yesterday and that Lloyd hurt something earlier in that run. Should know more today.

Fortunately, it doesn't sound like the injury will sideline Lloyd for very long, according to Lloyd's mentor Josh Jacobs.
"He's going to be alright, man. He's not about to miss much time. I don't really know the extent of his injury, but I know it's not nothing major, so he's going to be alright,"
Jacobs said via John Miller of NBC26.

I was going to target him in dynasty as I have Jacobs, but I just don’t think I can do it, man. Last thing is another Kendre Miller on my roster.

The kid from South Dakota State, Amar Johnson, looks like he can just fly. I don't think he's a priority add, but he's somebody that deserves mention in the Shark Pool. I don't even know if he'll make the team, but having the name out there is important.

Was it the groin that hampered Lloyd last year? Or some other soft tissue thing? Starting to think this guy is ding prone. Kendre Miller may be a good comp.

Josh Jacobs should be in for an absolute ***monster*** of a year. I'll continue to pound that drum until the skins tear, the stick shatter and my hands fall off.
:drive: :banned: :headbang:
I have a Redraft league with Jr and we have 1 spin on the league
You get to keep 1 player from the team you drafted the prior season but only for 1 season, you can't keep them forever
I have Jacobs but have a collection of great WRs including Nico and Thomas in Jax, I feel like I could get JJ in the first couple of rounds and not burn my keeper spot on him
I liked him a lot last season and felt he was pretty good value along with the other that jumped teams like Barkley and Henry and Pollard to a lesser degree but he also did well

But I am a fan of Lloyd
