PlayerProfiler Stat of the Day
Last season at USC, MarShawn Lloyd had a solid 820 rush yards & 232 receiving yards
May not seem like a lot, but he did that with only 116 carries & 13 receptions for an average of
7.1 Yds/Carry
17.8 Yds/Catch

____________ BUT…
All the good with Marshawn Lloyd’s game, BUT…
10 career fumbles. 1 per 48 touches.
BUT can be a big eraser of value.
Not a death knell, BUT needs immediate improvement.
#NFLDraft
His running style reminds me of Kenneth Walker. Love the way he can hit another gear.Luv his combo of lateral cuts and upfield burst. That plus his low gravity powerful 5'9" 217 frame. Sounds like his issue is vision reading blocks, which isn't a smal concern, but man does the rest look/sound good.
Presumably. There really wasn't much competition. Why did he leave South Carolina? Nil?
Davis is a favorite sleeper of mine. His receiving prowess puts him ahead of Lloyd (or Benson to be honest) for me.I like Ray Davis more. Both can be serviceable guys to earn carries in the right spot, but neither anything that stands out probably.

Of draft eligible RBs with over 60 carries and at least 5 receptions, Marshawn Lloyd is:
- 1st in Breakaway % (56.7)
- 1st in PFF’s Elusive Rating (177.0)
- 2nd in Rushing Missed Tackles Foreced/Attempt (0.41)
- 2nd in Total Missed Tackles Forced/Attempt (0.47)

I wouldn't put either ahead of Benson, pending landing spot. Lloyd sure is getting hype right now.Davis is a favorite sleeper of mine. Both can be serviceable guys to earn carries in the right spot, but neither anything that stands out probably.

MarShawn Lloyd (#USC) has ridiculous footwork. Our RB3 in the 2024 NFL Draft
@PFF has an “elusive” rating to determine the most successful runners independent of blocking. Lloyd was ranked #1 of the notable draft eligible RBs![]()

A Vikings staff member will be at the USC Pro Day today…not watching Caleb Williams.
but RB MarShawn Lloyd.
He offers great explosion through the pass game and does an excellent job picking up blitz’s.
A name to watch as the Vikings look for a long term solution at RB.

USC RB MarShawn Lloyd on what it would mean to him to be drafted by the #Chargers after they hired his former RB coach Kiel McDonald, “not far to go…”

There’s ONLY 1 RB in the 2024 class who’s posted:

MarShawn Lloyd has incredible cutback ability for a 220+ lb back. Shows off some nice receiving skills here too. #FightOn
I saw him ranked #2 recently@Footballguys
MarShawn Lloyd is EXTREMELY Underrated!
At least that's what @ThePretendGM & @FantasyBluechip think.

Really hope he can clean those up. Some RBs can and others struggle long term with it.That’s a lot of fumbles. Those get you on the bench quickly.

Bottom line is that is a lot of fumbles - some coaches won't go for it.

Seems it is hit and miss if a player can clean these up - examples on both sides.
Can’t think of any, but that’s also kind of the point. Guys that fumble become irrelevant quickly. When was the last RB to have his career derailed over fumbling issues?
I just got a different read on it and think it’s a nothingburger. His age is a bigger knock to me.Can’t think of any, but that’s also kind of the point. Guys that fumble become irrelevant quickly. When was the last RB to have his career derailed over fumbling issues?
It wasn't the only thing, but James Robinson's fumbles got him dumped by the Jags, and he's never recovered. Injuries also played a big role, but fumbles mattered too. Antonio Gibson's role continued to shrink due to fumbles. As did Cam Akers in LA. Melvin Gordon was run out of Denver mostly due to fumbles. Can’t think of any, but that’s also kind of the point. Guys that fumble become irrelevant quickly. When was the last RB to have his career derailed over fumbling issues?

If DJ likes him, that’s an important endorsement. He’s the best draft guy since Joel Buschbaum, IMO.I saw him ranked #2 recently@Footballguys

In the tweet a few posts up, Daniel Jeremiah has him as his top ranked RB this year and Jim Nagy concurred with that ranking.
