RB Match Ups to Exploit/Avoid Week 3 (1 Viewer)

Ugh, I've got to choose between LT/Rice/Edge as my 2nd RB and I don't have Sproles as a handcuff. What the heck do I do here? I'm about a 7-point dog according to Lineup Dominator, so I'm leaning towards rolling the dice with LT and dropping Kenny Watson for Hester to avoid a complete zero just in case LT is inactive on Monday.
What's wrong with Edge this week? Do you have Sproles? I'm guessing not. Rice is a big gamble as they have the other back in the mix there too on top of McGahee.

Hey MOP. Thanks again for your work. My head is dizzy today from other issues. My problem is who to play as RB #2. Choices Ladanien "Toefield" Tomlinson, Ronnie Brown, Edge, Pierre, Sammy Morris, Fred, Hightower. Thanks for your answer.

I need to know what you think of those guys first. You are only fielding an RB2? If you can't start but 2 of these RBs, and obviously you have a solid RB1...you might need to think about dealing away some of this depth to get a bonafide stud. I like Morris this week because of the circumstances but how do you bench LT, Ronnie Brown, and Edge ahead of him?I think 2 or 3 of those RBs will have very similar days.Tell me what you are thinking about here, and I can help. Who are you starting at WR, QB, TE...do you need to take a chance and try and hit a home run or do you need to play it safe and just take some sure points? It all matters quite a bit.

MOP,No Sproles, I got outbid for him. Here are the current lineups, 4 pt TD's for QBs, 6 pt TD's for everyone else 10 yds/pt for WR and RB, 25 yds/pt for QBs, no PPR:Me:Edwards/GarrardBush/JamesFitz/Cotchery/ChambersWinslowMareNYGOpponent:McNabb/DelhommeS. Jackson/MorrisT. Owens/Burress/Desean JacksonCooleyGostkowskiSteelersI think given these lineups I need to lean towards LT and the home run ball, but I'm really torn between him and Edge.

You're gonna be really upset if LT doesn't produce...Rice vs the Browns...maybe not, but Edge agianst the Skins who have had some issues against the run...I probably cross my fingers and roll with it. You're week is going to depend ona lot of production from Bush...I probably sit LT and play Edge, hope for the best. Remmeber, LT is not a sure thing tomorrow night, although it is an aboslute must win for the Bolts to have any chance to stay in the playoff hunt.

I agree with MOP. Edge is a safe play against the Skins. They certainly haven't shown us they'll have a good rushing defense so far this year. I would say at least 60-70 yards whereas Rice and LT's downside day would be more along 10-40 yards.

Saints carried the ball 19 times for 55 yards against the Skins last week. Edge will be lucky to get that this week. Bench him.

I won't call you out on the Dolphins prediction since its a division matchup with an unproven QB and would be very gratifying to Parcells.Having said that, I like Morris for 17/123/2 TD, 6/44/1 TD.Cassel to Moss on a couple bombs.NE 35MIA 10
Is this sarcasm? Do you really believe Morris will go off for approximately 36 points in standard leagues?

Gotta start 2 between Gore, Turner, and CJ3. All three have great matchups (vs. 29th, 30th, and 31st run defenses). Thoughts?

I'm planning on starting Gore (no chance of splitting carries) and then trying to decide between Turner and CJ3.

Thoughts?

The Saints had Reggie Bush running the ball. Brandon Jacobs, a similar style back to Edge, had 120+ yards against the Skins in Week One. Start him.

I would agree, although Turner could have the bigger day. Safe and solid vs. upside and a bit of risk. It'll be whichever one you'd rather take.

I don't see how Chris Johnson can be benched.

He's only played in two games so far in his career?
Turner has had his best day of his career and plays with probably the worst QB in the league. Chris Johnson hasn't even begun yet and plays on a team that knows how to run the football and now has a QB that can distribute the rock.I don't see how Chris Johnson can be benched.

MOP -- always a good feature, especially since it's from a user on the site.

anyway, would you start SJax or Matt Forte today.

my team:

JTO

Brian Westbrook

SJax or Matt Forte (or Darren Sproles)

Larry Fitzgerald

Dwayne Bowe

Ocho Cinco (or Vincent Jackson)

Zach Miller

Matt Prater

Bills D

his team:

Trent Edwards

Ronnie Brown

Fred Taylor

Reggie Wayne

Bryant Johnson

Laveranues Coles

Antonio Gates

Neil Rackers

Tennessee D

no PPR.

Thanks for your thoughts!

Too many tough call this week. I have to decide between LT, Sproles, White, LJ, and McFadden. How do you guys feel about LJ. You think they will feed him the ball 30 times?

MOP...forgive me if this is brief bit I'm cirrently in Europe and pecking this out on my Blackberry, I have the same dilema as first 2 weeks - choosing 2 between Portis, Lynch, and CJ3. I sat Lynch last weekend and CJ3 outproduced him. This week its tougher cause all 3 have good matchups. I've got Lynch and Portis in now, but hate to sit CJ3. A little worried that WAS falls behind early and has to chuck it in the 2nd half, limiting Portis' oppty's. Thoughts. TIA!

I'm not saying he's not going to have the best day, but if I had to start Gore who is a proven beast or CJ3 -- I would take Gore. Hands down.

I can't decide this week. Need to start 2 RB, 2 WR and a flex.

RB Options: Grant, Chris Johnson, SJax, McGahee (Johnson and Jackson are a lock for me)

WR Options: Calvin Johnson, Braylon Edwards, Bowe, Roddy White (Johnson is a lock)

Love the thought of Roddy White against KC with rookie corners and Bowe should be good against the Falcons. Probably leaning toward Grant more than anything. PPR league though (0.5 per).

Also need to decide on Rodgers or McNabb. Leaning McNabb.

Wow. My fault. I apparently cannot read...I thought it was between Gore, CJ3 or Turner. ;)

I like all 3 but Gore and C.Johnosn make the most sense on paper.

I scratched Edgerrin James at the last minute for Ronnie Brown. Just had a gut feeling. Three rushing TDs in the first half!

Good call. Just came on to say that the Miami pick for upset may be the best call all season. But there is a lot of football left to play.

Yeah MOP, I may have busted your balls and refused to admit it could happen because I'm a Pats fan but I'll give you props for your pick.

MOP, it took guts to make the call on Miami. Great call.

Well, I feel like an idiot for picking CJ3 over Turner. Won't make that mistake again. :bag:
I did end up starting CJ3 over Turner. Lendale is hoarding all of the rushing TDs for TEN so far this season. CJ3 is headed back to my bench for now until he starts scoring some TDs.Luckily it's still looking pretty good for my fantasy team to pull out a win thanks to Gore's and Marshall's big days.

Steve Slaton: He got rocked in that Pitt game and I would almost be willing to bet he wants no part of the Titans come about the 2nd/3rd quarter after he gets rocked again. He is frail by NFL standards and he doesn’t run with any type of authority, even DBs want to get in on this guy. Bad match up.
I trade Slaton away based somewhat on this post, not having actually seen Slaton play myself. Ooof.Good job getting Miami over the Pats though :lmao:
