RB Miles Sanders, DAL (1 Viewer)

The only 2 games this season Miles Sanders did not lead the RB's in both touches and snaps was the Raider game he put out early and last week when he got dinged up.

Cut me some slack. I'm jaded. 🤣

Sirianni figured out that running the ball (with actual RBs) was important. I think that's the most revelation we're going to see from him this season, and fully expect Sanders to continue sharing time with lesser RBs. Also, said RBs will dominate GL touches, as well.

Miles Sanders (ankle) was removed from Philadelphia's final injury report.

Sanders is suddenly in an even better spot than before since Boston Scott (illness) is a true game-time decision. Perhaps with no choice but to lean on Sanders in place of Jordan Howard (knee, out) and Scott, Sanders should surge in lineups as an opportunity-based RB2. Note that the Jets have allowed league-highs in touches and fantasy points to opposing backfields.

Unfortunate that Gainwell busted the RZ TD run, but Sanders' usage looking much better this game. I can quibble a little with the playcalling on some of these shotgun HB dive calls (like they can't set the edge or run a counter?) but he's in there and they're letting him make plays.

He finally got the load and then gets his ankle rolled.on on the 4th quarter.

24-120 rushing 3-22 receiving

every time I think I'm out he pulls me back in...I feel like Charlie Brown kicking the football.
😄  Ain't this the truth.  I'm not sure the ride has been enjoyable, but I still hold out hope, rationalize, and enter GameDay ready for the roller coaster.

It even almost looked like they were trying to get him a TD before he got hurt. He has the bye to rest up, but we’ll see how long he’ll be out beyond that.

For what it's worth, Dr. Chao is saying he likely wasn't hurt badly and should be ok after Phily's bye week...Don't kill the messenger if this report turns out to be false

He's pretty confident he'll be ready to go week 15, but so will Howard and Scott.

Just saw a post game interview for Dallas Goedert. Sanders walked up to him normal and patted him on the butt. Didn't look like he was injured at all.

Didnt even think to start him in a 10 teamer- jokes on me. This matchup was so ####### good it didn't even matter how mediocre Sanders has been

Here's the thing...Sanders has had mediocre to poor fantasy numbers, but most Eagles fans in here will tell you he's actually looked pretty darn good all year when he's gotten touches. And we (philly fans) aren't generally very patient with mediocre to poor performances

Sanders just needed touches.  He’s a decent RB.  Be nice if he could stay healthy for an entire game too though.

This is the problem…he looks good when he gets the touches but either he’s fumbled or gets reinjured every game.  He just needs to have a dominant game and make it through for the coaches and FF owners to trust him.  He’s the most talented back on the team but you also need to be reliable.

I think he's a really good fantasy reclamation project. His contract is up after next season and he's averaged 5.0 YPC through his career. Somebody is going to back up the truck to get this guy and I get the feeling he's very passionate about football.

He's only 24 years old with no history of ACL or Achilles tear. Next year he will be 25 and if he decides to leave Philly, he should have plenty of tread left on the tires at age 26.

For comparisons sake, Barry Sanders averaged 5.0 YPC throughout his career. Somebody will pay Sanders to be their lead back and while it's too far into the future to determine, I would love to see him in an offense like... Baltimore?

He's still an Eagle next year unless they trade him. Baltimore won't trade for him with Dobbins there.

The current coaching staff does not seem to want him in Philly.  Since they will probably let him walk after next year, they may as well see if they can trade him for something.

You would think, but the trade market for RBs is typically not that robust when guys can be found late in drafts. He’s cheap insurance next  year even if he is a backup.

I'd be willing to bet they prefer Dobbins over Sanders, but I could be wrong.  They also love Gus.

good game by Sanders and he did well with the workload but as always he can't seem to get through a game without some adversity to cloud the future situation whether it's a fumble or an injury.  This time he tweaked his ankle but hopefully he can rest it up on the bye week.  Howard is also on the wire and have been contemplating adding him as I'm not sure how all this will shake out when/if they're ever all healthy.

If they are ever all healthy, the correct answer is surely "none of them". Especially if Hurts is going to vulture everything

I disagree. Howard will surely get goaline carries and Sanders is always a threat to break a 50+ yarder at any time.

If all of them are healthy, I see it as:

Sanders 15 carries, Howard 12, Scott/Gainwell 3. Then sprinkle in about 5-7 passes a game to Sanders and Scott/Gainwell. That's enough volume for Sanders and Howard.

I think Howard's presence is being overstated. He was cut by Philly earlier in the year. An afterthought.  They brought him in because of injuries and familiarity with the offense. With Sanders back and being effective, I don't see 12 touches for Howard.  Not sure he'll even be active because of Boston Scott's special teams ability. I could easily see them going with Sanders, Scott, and Gainwell.  They are interchangeable in Philly's offense due to their pass catching ability. I see it more as Sanders 18 touches. Scott 5-8. Gainwell 5

I disagree there. This coaching staff likes what Howard does. When he's healthy, he'll get touches. Especially at the goaline.

Miles Sanders (ankle) remained limited in Thursday's practice.

Jordan Howard (knee) joined Sanders on the limited line. The Eagles, on paper, have a smash spot against a Football Team squad that will be missing several defenders to COVID-19 protocols. Sanders should play in the game, but the question is how the workload share will be split if both he, Howard, and Boston Scott are all healthy. Friday's practice report should bring more clarity to the situation.

Good showing last night but I can't believe he hasn't found the end zone rushing for 800+ yards.  Hurts snakes all the 1 yarders...he has to learn to share

Which is bizarre because all of Howard, Scott and Gainwell have scored short rushing TDs this year. It’s practically like Sirianni is punking Sanders.

On average he should have nearly 5 rushing touchdowns with this yardage.

Lets hope he gets positive regression these next two weeks!

It would be ridiculous if he rushes for 1000+ yards without a rushing TD.

Off the top of my head I can think of James Allen rushing for 1,120 yards with 2 Rushing TDs in 2000 for the Bears. Has anyone had 1000+ rushing yards with 0 or 1 rushing TDs.

In that realm, in 2003 Curtis Martin went 323-1308-2 and 42-262-0 (on my team, of course).

Certainly a statistical outlier season, but they happen on occasion.

Still weird usage though. He had 145 yards total on 20 touches and then didn't touch the ball the last 20 mins of the game. As far as I know he's not hurt. So what's the deal?

Read a few speculations that they may have wanted to control the time of possession at that point by running Howard between the tackles. Not sure though.

Sanders was interviewing after the game on the field and said they were preserving him due to the short week now.

According to CBS:

Eagles' Miles Sanders: Tending to new injury

Sanders was estimated as a non-participant on Wednesday's practice report due to a quadriceps injury.

Sanders previously has dealt with ankle issues this season, so this quad concern is a new one for the third-year running back. He is coming off back-to-back 100-yard efforts on the ground against the Jets and Washington in which he combined for 47 touches for 288 yards from scrimmage. The Eagles may be managing Sanders' activity due to the recent heavy workload, but his listing on their last two injury reports of Week 16 prep may provide some insight into his potential to play (or not) Sunday against the Giants.

Miles Sanders (quad) did not practice on Thursday for the second straight day.

Jordan Howard handled most of the workload at the end of Philadelphia's game against the Football Team, which may be tipping us off about the state of Sanders' injury. However, both practices have been walkthroughs thus far. Sanders would be a great play if healthy against the Giants, but fantasy managers relying on him may want to roster Howard as a backup plan.

The dude is made of glass…each game he tweaks something and you have to speculate if he’s going to play.  Ugh…..

MILES SANDERSRB, PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

Miles Sanders (ankle) was not seen at the start of practice Friday.

It is possible the running back shows up after the portion of practice open to the media, but it seems like Sanders is headed for his third-straight DNP. If that is the case, it is difficult to see him suiting up for Week 16. Jordan Howard would be a plug-and-play starter against the Giants if Sanders cannot go.
