He hasn't been Saquon, but he's been close. Top 10 non-PPR, right behind Saquon at the top in PPR. Despite my error, the point remains the same. Oh, I think there are reasons to be skeptical for sure, but one man I would never count out is Nick Chubb. If the price were right, I would absolutely roll the dice on him.

Nobody in the 4th round has Chubb's upside, hell, its arguable nobody in the 2nd round does (he was arguably the best runner in the NFL as recently as the beginning on 2023) and the capital to sign him will be a lot lower than a 2nd rounder, where you can draft a player at a more important position, and still get that 4th round RB if you really want one.

I think some are suggesting that he's got nothing left in the tank (possibly) or that he's injury prone (possibly), but neither of those have been proven. If he heals up and returns to form, then he's a massive steal. There's zero guarantee, but if the signing bonus/guarantees are reasonable, then cut him before week one if he is toast.

There's clearly an enormous culture problem in Cleveland. Chubb is an important part of any positive culture they have. The message that front office continues to send to their players is that there's no accountability here. There's no real loyalty here. We pay scumbags outside the organization a quarter billion, but the guys who lay it on the line for the Browns can kick rocks. Chubb has laid his health on the line multiple times for them and fought hard to get back. I believe sent out an extremely heartfelt and emotional message to the city following his injury.

Football is a business, but it's a business comprised of people. Treat them poorly and you'll get an appropriate effort in return. I guess I see it differently being a Bucs' fan? We have players like Chris Godwin who isn't too dissimilar from Chubb. Chris tore an ACL in 2021. The Bucs signed him to an extension. Chris dislocated an ankle in 2024. The Bucs signed him to an extension. Is that bad football business process? Maybe, but you know who notices? The players. They know if they perform as a Buc they'll still be compensated even if they sustain injury. You know how I know? Godwin took significantly less money to continue being a Buc.

I was nodding along with your post until I got to this point, but then I had to double check my own self to make sure the way you're painting it is accurate. I conclude that it is. It's almost like they want a club option on Chubb. That seems weird. It's like they're saying, "Yes, we want you but not if some fool team gives you way more money than we think you deserve. Then we don't want a thing to do with you until we might deign to re-sign you so you can retire in our jersey." Could there be a worse provision in your contract than something like that? I say no. I'd be kicking my own *** out of Cleveland.

Players really do notice how clubs treat the guys because they're the guys that are going to be treated a certain way. I can't get over the fact that some guys still want to play for the Jets with Woody Johnson as the owner. And Haslam is no different, and probably worse. They're not cheap. They're just cement heads when it comes to the organization and its treatment of its players. It shines through and players see it, know it, and make decisions based upon it. Nobody talks about the Browns and Myles Garrett in any tone but hushed reverence, but they gave a guy who started swinging his helmet at another man like he was feral forty million dollars for at least three years just a week ago after he demanded a trade. That's a guy who, at the least, sexually battered women and a guy who attempted defenestration with a helmet and wanted out of the city that are now being paid at least 80 million dollars combined—in 2026. "But, Nick, we've got this situation here see . . . "
