RB Rico Dowdle, CAR (1 Viewer)

Rico Dowdle rushed 23 times for 206 yards (!) and a touchdown in the Panthers’ Week 5 win over the Dolphins, adding three catches for 28 yards.

To say this was the surprise performance of the week would be an understatement. Dowdle had been playing a backup role through the first month of the season entering Week 5. With Chuba Hubbard sidelined, the former Cowboys drew his first start of the year and did not disappoint. Carolina’s line opened massive holes for Dowdle and he consistently gashed Miami for long gains, including eight rushes of 10 or more yards and two for more than 40. He even missed out on a few yards late in the game while dealing with cramps. Dowdle was a capable starter for the Cowboys last year and looked like an elite runner in his first game. He will still take a backseat to Hubbard when he returns, but the Pathers can give him as much time as he needs to get healthy. They’re in good hands with Dowdle leading the way. Dowdle will sit in the RB2 ranks for his Week 6 date with the Cowboys if Hubbard remains out.

Surprise performance of the week: Him or Bourne.....they were both last second adds to my lineup the night before their games.

Awesome feeling.

Saved my week. If Chuba is out next week, gonna ride again. Unfortunately, I don't think he has stand alone value on this offense as the RB2 behind Chuba in a time share.

Expect a role that is more 1b than 2.
Sure, but still don't think the offense is dynamic enough for me to start him in that role. And that means rolling out Chase Brown, instead.
That’s fair though as someone who has some Chase Brown on teams he’s testing my theory that volume rules for RB’s.

Had him in my flex only to switch before game time for Walker III. What a huge mistake! Would have made life easier tonight.

Now I need Little to boom some of those 50+ yard FG's and my opponents WR Thomas to get his 9 point average so far this season.

How does a RB that had a 200+yd rushing game just slide thru waivers?
I did not wait for an answer, just picked him up and made him the new guy at the end of the bench
You always keep overturning the bottom of your rosters until you find something that sticks

I may add him, but Bloom is saying dump 50-100% of your budget on him. OK.

Won by 5 points to stay undefeated. Thomas with 12 PPR & Little with 9 including the 50+ FG made it tight.

If Hubbard is out or gimpy on Friday I will start Rico over Henry. After all Henry has averaged 7.5 points over his last 4 games. They may get their act together after the BYE but not counting on it. My #1 RB is K Williams who I feel good about from week to week.

Sounds like it's Rico's rock again this weekend!
You reading somewhere that Hubbard is out?
Yeah, he's not practicing again today apparently which is not a good sign.
Officially ruled out now.

Who is starting Rico this weekend?
Worst run defense in the league. No Chuba playing. Rico just ran for 200 yards and it's revenge. The real question is who could possibly sit him?

May seem like an implausible thought but I was wondering if a team came calling for Rico would the Panthers listen since he's only under contract for this season?
