RB Travis Etienne, JAX (1 Viewer)

Let’s tap the breaks - Dougie may have been playing the matchup. Etienne is obviously going to be very much a key cog, but I wouldn’t bury Robinson just yet
I am sure Robinson isn't getting 0 touches most weeks but this is the ETN backfield. That seems pretty clear right now. He is probably the only good thing about this offense.

Travis Etienne rushed 14 times for 114 yards and a TD in the Jaguars’ Week 7 loss to the Giants, adding one reception for an additional five yards.

Etienne season was already creeping and now it’s officially here. For the first time this season, his running mate James Robinson failed to get a single touch. Etienne was used as an every-down back, only coming out of the game when needing a breather. Etienne continues to be efficient and explosive, if this type of usage continues he’s easily an RB2 in fantasy.

Travis Etienne played 80% of snaps in the Jaguars' Week 7 loss to the Giants.

James Robinson saw his snap share drop to just 17% after playing 44% of snaps against the Colts in Week 6. JaMycal Hasty was an afterthought with just a 6% snap share. Etienne's increased playing time is a major development in the Jaguars backfield and gives the second-year running back a chance to become a true fantasy RB1. The Jaguars are unlikely to regret their decision to get Etienne on the field more after he rushed for 8.1 yards per carry. He did lose a costly fumble but that did not affect his playing time in-game and shouldn't have an effect unless ball security becomes an ongoing issue.

Also thank goodness this all happened. After how badly I missed on N'Keal Harry, if I also got ETN so wrong that he just got beat out a UDFA I would consider quitting fantasy.

Where does ETN go in the dynasty RB rankings now? He has to be creeping into top 5.

IDK as I'm strictly redraft but I don't think I'm wishcasting that he's top ten in redraft ROS.

I agree in redraft but the dynasty landscape at RB is pretty grim right. A lot of aging backs.

Fantasy Football Trade Reaction: James Robinson lands with Jets, but Travis Etienne is the big winner

Excerpt:

How James Robinson trade affects Travis Etienne, Jaguars RBs

There is in Jacksonville.

Travis Etienne displayed in Week 7 that he can be a feature back for the Jaguars. Against the Giants, Etienne notched career-highs in snaps played (80%), carries (14) and rush yards (114) while scoring his first touchdown. He's also averaged an other-worldly 7.97 yards per carry in his past three games with at least a dozen touches in each. We still haven't seen him go off as a receiver much, but that will get worked into the Jaguars offense soon. Etienne is good to go as a must-start No. 2 Fantasy rusher.

He'll have help from game to game as JaMycal Hasty and Snoop Connercan provide some relief. Hasty is a speedster like Etienne (well, not exactly like him, he's averaging ONLY 4.8 yards per carry over his career), and Conner is a physical back like Robinson who could eventually find his way into some short-yardage touchdowns. Neither one is a must-stash but both have some appeal in deeper leagues for those who want to handcuff Etienne.

Traded Kyren Williams and Brandon Cooks for ETN today. 3 player keeper league and he's looking towards next year. I was happy to oblige
That doesn't even make sense. He's looking toward next year by trading a 23 year old starting RB for a backup RB, and a 30 year old WR? It was your lucky day I guess.

It is an auction league where you can keep 3 players at last year's auction price + $5. Etienne price will be $40 next year and Williams will be $10. He then followed up the trade with another owner with Boyd for Hunt. But I'm happy 😊

ETA i think he's gambling on Cooks being traded to an NFL contender. Did I mention I'm still happy?

The NFL is crazy but a year ago, ETN looked like such a whiff of a dynasty pick.

Today:

Najee is going full Trent Richardson, Pitts is unplayable, Chase is out indefinitely, Javonte has a torn AC:.

Travis Etienne rushed 24 times for 156 yards and one touchdown in the Jaguars' Week 8 loss to the Broncos, adding three receptions for six additional yards.

Etienne continues to emerge as an elite fantasy asset, leading the Jaguars with 162 yards from scrimmage in the team's Week 8 loss to the Broncos. Arguably one of the most explosive backs in the game, Etienne averaged 6.5 YPC on the day, aided by a 49-yard run in the second quarter. Etienne took multiple carries for 10+ yards on the afternoon, putting opposing defenders on skates as they tried to bring him down. His lone touchdown came on a one-yard touchdown late in the fourth quarter, but the Jaguars had several opportunities down near the goal line. Etienne has a chance to be a top-12 running back the rest of the way, and should be treated as such in Week 9 against the Raiders.

Jamaal Charles or Kamara, whichever comp you prefer. Hopefully Lawrence can turn into something that keeps the heat off him
He still needs to improve his function as a pass catcher. Right now he's actually operating more like like a mini Derrick Henry. But yeah, I can really see the Charles comp in play style.

Like to maybe take-backsy that Charles comp.

Jamaal like the most underrated back ever.
Yeah Charles is a bit aggressive of a comp but it makes sense for the style of player ETN is. He might never be as good as Charles was but he’s in that mold of RB.

Travis Etienne rushed 28 times for 109 yards and two touchdowns and added two catches for 17 yards on two targets in the passing game in the Jaguars' Week 9 win over the Raiders.

In three games since James Robinson has been traded, Etienne has gone over 100 yards on the ground with at least one touchdown in every outing, establishing himself as the Jaguars' bell-cow back and an elite fantasy RB1. Etienne out-carried JaMycal Hasty 28-3 in this one and has one of the best roles in football. Etienne's touchdowns in this one were one- and five-yard runs. Etienne gets a Week 10 date on the road against the Chiefs.

Pittman for ETN: feeling better and better every week about that trade.
The morning of week 7, I traded Devonta Smith for ETN (redraft) I think the other guy thought he was selling high and getting out on a busted pick.
One guy laughed a little when I drafted him in dynasty at 1.07 last year. Because of the lisfranc. No one knows what happens from here, but definitely looks like a win at this juncture.

I was bummed at myself for not taking him in redraft at 3.11 (he went next pick.)

Took advantage of the Week 1 overreaction, and traded James Conner for him. Posted the trade here and on Reddit. 100% of people who proffered an opinion said I lost the trade.

Great trade. The fun part is the last 2 weeks the coaches have been saying that there is still so much more untapped potential and that he’s got a whole another level to unlock.
