RB/WR Cordarrelle Patterson, Free Agent (1 Viewer)

I was dead wrong with this guy.
The most frustrating part is he hasn't even been given a chance. It is one thing to see a guy go out and suck, you live and learn. But CP hasnt even been given the opportunity. He isn't startable going forward, until he shows something.

If you had to drop him in a 10 team league with shallow benches I couldn't argue with you at this point.

Its frustrating for sure. SO much talent. That kickoff for 50 yards just looked effortless. If used correctly, he could be one of the best players in the league.

It's amazing that teams keep falling for the fake sweeps and screens to him when they haven't actually given him any of those since week 1.

I don't get this about defensive game plans. They let up 27 points to the vikings through 34 minutes of play. You'd think they would switch up their scheme.

TEDDY IS NOT EVEN LOOKING HIS WAY!!! Wtf! Whatever side of the field CP is lining up on Teddy's attention is on the other side completely. Unbelievable....

it's pretty believable. i mean if i had no idea what was going on in the game and someone told me this all happened, I'd think it plausible.

Being used as a decoy too much on the fake screen
They've run that fake screen to Patterson and then screen back to Wright on the other side 4 or 5 times in the last three weeks and I don't think it's worked yet. Heck they've run the fake screen to Patterson twice as much as they've run actual screens to him.

Decoy. I hope Minnesota loses every game this season.
:lmao: It's 1.5 quarters in with a rookie in his first start. And they are winning. I'll make sure to let Zimmer and Turner know you are unhappy though. They will really care too I'm sure.
I don't care who the QB is, what the score is or anything else. Unless Patterson is injured or just sucks (I don't believe either is the case), there is no reason a team's top 1-2 dynamic offensive weapons has 3 targets and 0 rushing attempts through 3 quarters. That's bad play calling IMO. Are the Vikes so good they can lay off the gas and run out the 4th quarter?I don't own Patterson, but if he's the dynamic weapon he's been made out to be, and showed in flashes last year, 1 reception at this point in the game is a waste of a valuable asset.

Nailed it here. This decoy stuff is BS. You find a way to get the ball in your playmakers hands. The fact that Teddy isn't even looking his way to start the read shows the plays are not even being called for CP.

This is CP time, close game, 4th qtr, defense worn down. Wouldn't shock me to see one of his 65 yard video game scores real soon.

Also wouldn't shock me if he doesn't get another touch.

I'm saying it happens. Sometimes Julio or Calvin get only a couple targets. Sometimes McCoy or Charles only get a couple carries. And those guys are clear studs. CP is an amazing talent. But let's not act like he's a top 10 WR. He doesn't automatically deserve 10-15 touches a game. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come. CP should get more touches. But as a non-owner I think it's really funny to read the vitriol in this thread today.

You guys gotta relax. He was marked by Atlanta and the other WRs were open. Patterson will be fine.

This seems to be a running theme, though. He's always getting the brunt of coverage and Minn seems content to take the other options and not force him the ball. That doesn't mean he's a bad player. It does mean he's going to struggle to produce fantasy results. Maybe with the other guys actually stepping up this week it will cause future teams to move coverage and focus around. We'll see. Right now, he just isn't even getting looks.

I called for a dud in this game but the generalizations of what will be in the recent responses are ridiculous. Cpatt struggled for touches in this game but it's really no surprise. If I'm ATL, I try to own him and let the others beat me. That's exactly what happened. As a Cpatt owner, I'm encouraged by the fact that they spread the ball around and scored a boat load of points against a good team without him. It will only help down the road. I benched him and feel good about it and he's a nice bye week fill in going forward until they figure out how to make him a priority.

Owners looking for him to be a #1/#2 type of WR at this point are sadly mistaken.

I agree with this. His time is coming and Bridgewaters play gives a lot of hope. Patterson was a decoy and given extra attention so I think we should actually be more optimistic

Rotoworld:

Cordarrelle Patterson caught 2-of-4 targets for 38 yards in the Vikings' Week 4 win over the Falcons.

Patterson hasn't done much of anything since shredding the Rams in the opener. We're not sure what the reason is, but the Vikings aren't featuring Patterson, instead opting to work the ball to Jarius Wright in this one. Wright was targeted 10 times mostly on screens and short passes, turning them into 132 yards. Patterson would have likely done that and more if given the same workload. After four games, Patterson is on pace for a 52-724-0 receiving line. He also isn't getting many carries. For now, Patterson is a boom-or-bust WR3.

I'm off the wagon until further notice. Not starting him anywhere, especially when you've got guys Eddie Royal on the Chargers putting up stats on the Waiver Wire.
