TV ads make it look like a phoned-in, rehash deal by all involved. Seems like everyboyd has made Denzel and that character a completely wooden cliche.... at least that's what I get from the ads.

I was a big fan of the TV show and this had Denzel in it. How do you #### that up?

no, i think you're mostly right. I think it's a fun movie but you can't think too much about it. I think there may be a case to be made that his best movie is "The Big Blue" even if it does promote Rosanna Arquette as a love interest.

Saw The Drop this weekend. Not great but pretty good. Worth seeing. Lots of slow build tension. Tom Hardy did a good job with his role.

Was surprised by the reviews (7.9 on IMDB, 69 metascore), will check it out.

I loved it. A mature movie with an intelligent script. A lesser work would have likely settled with heavily focusing on having the secondary characters judging Joaquin Phoenix's digital girlfriend. But this society - our society - is already walking down the path of complete isolation and love of objects over human contact. Highly recommended.

when that movie came out, I was in love LOVE in college with this girl who I thought looked like the love interest from the movie. She commented that she thought I looked the lead (as a teen). We had 3 incredible collegey weeks together before she graduated and I moved back to CA... we saw the the movie together before the end of it- and it will always remind me of extreme sense of aboslute emotional and intellectual affirmation I had with her- my whole soul resounded YES when I was around her. So... yeah- the movie hits all of my dislike/annoy buttons... but... dammit.

Gary Oldman hamming it up as Stansfield is a delight.

Listen, it's a slick film to look at but utterly ridiculous otherwise. It's fun to see Portman in her debut and recognize her potential instantly. Oldman is a blast. Besson knows how to stage a scene though and film it correctly. Otherwise, it's a pretty dumb movie. Everything he's done since has gotten progressively worse (mostly). He's the French equivalent to Robert Rodriguez.

Dom Hemingway was alright for a couple minutes, and then Jude Law's character got real old real quick. didn't seem to go anywhere, just crass to be crass.

Filth was better, but still not a movie that I could get into (might have been the mood I was in from the last one too)

Some of the acting is really bad. But I bet had you stuck with it you'd be pretty engrossed by now.

Just watched Coherence based upon some reviews posted here, http://www.amazon.com/Coherence-Emily-Foxler/dp/B00MFE29P8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1412251140&sr=8-1&keywords=coherence. Excellent flick. Had a bit of the same feel as Man from Earth. Really enjoy these low budget movies that don't need a lot of flash to move the story along. Long story short: what would happen if the multiverse theory was more than just a theory and some cosmic event was happening that allowed us to move between various alternate realities.

Great movie. 4/5

This is a fantastic movie. And it should have been a failure. But Stern and company put together a good script and assembled an excellent cast rather than just relying on Stern's star power.
