2:30 minute movie. Really enjoyed the first 2 hrs. I just can't get on board with the end.

I presume you're joking. The end bothered me because there was so much video evidence at the house that she would not have gotten away with it. They would have looked at his phone records and recent travels and realized it was not a kidnapping. No ties whatsoever to the original crime scene, and as a business man would likely have had an alibi at that time.

I thought it would have been cool for the hillbillies to kill her, then have Ben struggle to reveal the truth.

Holy Crap, what a gut punch

This.

I was expecting more of a comedy and it was a little silly at times, but dumb jokes helped keep the tone from getting too dark. May have been the most moving movie I've ever seen.

Maleficent - didn't expect such a good story from this one, good twist on Sleeping Beauty

November Man - Pierce Brosman is back as retired 007. Well not really, but I enjoyed this much more than I expected to since action movies usually bore me.

Reclaim - I would not pay money to see this. It had its moments (Cusack is very good in it) but the writing and action scenes were awful.

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For - enjoyed this more than the first one. Just great fun.

Space Station 76 - wanted to like this retro 70's sci-fi film but it was depressing melodrama with a couple of funny parts.

The Scribbler - didn't know this was based on a graphic novel. It was weird enough that I finished it but unless you're a fan the graphic novel it's hard one to get into, even after you finally figure out what is going on.

22 Jump Street - These guys are together. They overplayed the homoerotic stuff but it was a very funny movie. One of the best end credits I've seen.

I feel like I say this a lot... Liked the concept, didn't like the execution. There's very little drama in this film. You're just watching a 40yo guy and his old dad on a road trip. As someone in his 40s with aging parents, I should have cared more but not much happens. The salty old lady wife we've seen a dozen times before. The end was touching though.

I feel like I say this a lot... Liked the concept, didn't like the execution. There's very little drama in this film. You're just watching a 40yo guy and his old dad on a road trip. As someone in his 40s with aging parents, I should have cared more but not much happens. The salty old lady wife we've seen a dozen times before. The end was touching though.

I liked the movie quite a bit. I only liked the salty old lady for the first 5 minutes of her screen time and then could have done without her over the top performance the rest of the way. Really liked all the rest of the performances. And although the story had a couple of brief dry spells, I found the mix of drama/reality/humor to be entertaining. I'd give it a 3.5-4 / 5.

The Rover

Guy Pearce and Robert Pattinson in post apocalyptic, aussie film. Kind of a downer but good atmosphere and Pattinson played by far, his best role.

The Signal

Came highly praised, but pretty average film similar to Dark City, which was much better.

I liked it well enough but it wasn't much beyond a character study. It felt very flimsy to me. Compare it to, say, David Lynch's "The Straight Story" with Richard Farnsworth. Similar films but couldn't be more different in how they make you feel.

Jim Jarmusch makes good movies. The characters have no real objective if that sort of thing bothers you, film pretty much just watches 2 vampires live their life for a week. Sounds kinda boring, and I'm sure some would find it to be the case if they watched it, but all the characters in the film were interesting, it was beautifully shot, and Jarmusch uses music so impeccably once again it just sets a great mood for the film.

Jim Jarmusch makes good movies. The characters have no real objective if that sort of thing bothers you, film pretty much just watches 2 vampires live their life for a week. Sounds kinda boring, and I'm sure some would find it to be the case if they watched it, but all the characters in the film were interesting, it was beautifully shot, and Jarmusch uses music so impeccably once again it just sets a great mood for the film.

I haven't seen it- but you definitely nailed Jarmusch. So much so that I don't feel like I have to see this one.

Saw this tonight. This is such a good movie. Surprisingly good in spots and for reasons you may not expect. It's more of a story about the family than a case, and "the case" is probably a weaker part of the movie. Duvall and Downey are both strong. D'Onofrio plays one of the brothers and is ok. It's the role of the guy Danny Strong as the othe brother who is really entertaining.

I saw both this and Gone Girl within the past week and would say The Judge is more highly recommended.

"Doc Hollywood" set in 2014 with a lawyer instead of a doctor, with a more dramatic story line.

The book was disappointing as well. Just was excited to see what Fincher would do with it. He didn't do much.

every commercial I've seen makes it look more and more cliched than the last. stong-willed dad has to trust maverick, prodigal son.... blah, blah, blah. glad to hear it's being enjoyed more than that superficial glance. given that we've got two small kids and have to burn a baby sitter on it- this will be a rental at best for me.

there is no way I let that crazy ##### live in the same house as me or raise my child., I don't think anyone would. Can't get past that, especially when other people know the truth. The whole thing got out of any sort of reality when they ended it that way. 100 different endings would make it a great movie

I thought the last scene of the movie suggested that he was just as crazy as she is and that he's going to try and kill her.

put me on the opposite end of the spectrum. I thought finchers direction and the great score elevated what seemed like a twisted, but above average story, to a great movie. I was tense all the way through the movie. probably could have handled some motivations a little better, but that always seems to happen with book to scree translations. didn't love the end, but it fits. might end up on my best of year list. 8/10.

I won't say it sucks, but I was not impressed. It was 'gorgeous' and I liked the period aspect of it, but didn't find the story very interesting. There also wasn't a likeable character in the whole movie so I didn't care what happened to any of them.

If you haven't seen Gone Girl, see that instead.

Excellent flick. The cinematography in this film was amazing. Not perfect but incredibly authentic. Pitt did an outstanding job, as did the entire cast. At one point, it did sort of meander a bit for me, but overall a solid war flick.

Made me think a lot about what my cousin who went MIA over near the German border must have gone through around the same time in the war.
