I think I just watched the worst movie ever.
That movie is called Idiocracy.

After the movie, I was treated to "The War at Home" where the lead guy throws a toaster into his bath in an attempt to kill himself while I was having a conversation with my 17-year old dropout, pothead, slacker, alcoholic, never-worked-a-day nephew.
I need rehab. Now.

Watched Lady in the Water.
Not as good as Shamalam's (Shalahamylam, Shymanhamanlam, whatever it is) previous efforts....but I still liked it. Original, well shot, cast was very good.
Worth a shot, especially if you liked all of his earlier work.

Silent Hill was surprisingly good - very atmospheric and well shot. The storyline was kinda weak but overall a decent flick.

May have mentioned it before, but if you like intense all out action, check out District B-13. It was much better than I anticipated, with some trulyStatham was made for this kind of movie.

Where was it billed as hilarious? I liked the movie b/c it had the balls to be a little depressing- I thought that it made it a little more realistic than most movies like that. I just watched 2 today:and the fact that it was billed as "hilarious"..terrible
Saw 3 -- Thought that it a bit boring. Only 2 people trapped playing the "game". For that reason I thought that it lacked a bit of variety, even for a movie in the Saw series.
This Film is not Yet Rated -- A tad slow, but hey it's a documentary. Thought that the process of the ratings system and the hypocracy was very interesting to listen to. Esp. when one of the South Park guys was talking about the different experiences he had with the board when he made the Orgasmo as an independant to when they were making South Park/Team America for a big studio. Was also interesting when they put scenes side by side - one being an 'R' rating, and one an 'NC-17'. Overall worth a watch if you like docs.

I liked it. I wasn't expecting a whole lot when I rented it, but, I was pleasantly surprised. Good acting and a nice little plot. I thought it was well shot and well directed. Orlando Bloom does a nice job and Bill Paxton was pretty good as well (I'm not a big Paxton fan, but, I could tolerate him in this flick). A couple of young hotties as well (not sure of their names).
I'll give it a 7 out of 10

Saw Mission Impossible 3. It was pretty good. Not much in the way of unexpectedness, but some good action sequences and suspense. And I can't watch a Tom Cruise movie anymore without getting completely distracted about what a whack job he is in real life.
And everyone else in the world has seen it, but I just watched Scarface for the first time a couple days ago. Pretty much what I expected. I feel like I have experienced a part of movie history.

Just received this from Netflix and am looking forward to seeing it. The trailers looked horrible, but enough people have liked this movie enough for me to want to check it out.

Yep - same here. Not giving anything away but the one part (you know which one) was one of the funniest I have seen in a long time. Almost as good as the Hansons in Slap Shot.Wordplay - saw it on a flight. Great flick. Those people are insane.

I would switch these two . Lock Stock is a masterpiece. Snatch is kindof a remake and definitely in the same style. Liked both but Lock Stock is a great movie...

i think this is frequently cited as the biggest or one of the biggest influences on tarantino's kill bill... its on my netflix queue short list...i mentioned taking of pelham 1-2-3 upthread as influence on reservoir dogs (color coded criminals)... another one on RDs, supposedly biggest, most direct influence, is hong kong movie city on fire, i think with the dude from hard boiled...

Little Miss Sunshine - Thought it was good but overrated based on comments I heard and oscar nominations. Not as funny as I thought it would be, more serious than expected. Good cast.
Babel - An excellent movie that should win the oscar.
The Treasure Of The Sierra Madre - Rented the old classic and watched it with my family. Great film that we all enjoyed.

This movie apparently won the SAG award last night. And I heard one critic call it the "greatest comedy in years." I just don't understand that level of praise. It was good -- it had some pretty funny parts and some very good performances. But the unbelievable praise for it is unwarranted.

Don't know why my wife picked this one up, but she shouldn't have. It's only about 75 minutes long and never really goes anywhere. It's basically a presentation of some true story. Not scary, not much action, not real thought-provoking.

Friends with Money - I rented this about 2 weeks ago and it just sat on my TV. I popped it in Friday night and fell asleep. Against my usual pattern of behavior, I gave it a second chance on Saturday and I'm glad I did. Some have called this movie boring, but I wans't bored at all. I thought the writing was very fresh, some of it hitting close to home. I thought the plot was logical and the acting was sharp. Hell, I even liked the romance at the end and I typically shun romantic movies.
I've seen a lot of Jennifer Aniston lately (The Breakup - HORRIBLE & Rumon Has it - MEH) and IMO, this was her best role to date. If you're in a bind and need a chick flick that won't make you want to jam your eyeballs out with a pencil, this one is more than worth it.

Kill Bill definately was influenced by Lady Snowblood. Might be indeed the Tarentino fans that hyped this movie.Watched "Graveyard of Honor" (the old version from the 70ies) yesterday. Very good movie, shows the rise of a Yakuza without honor but a lot of brutality after worldwar 2. The whole pride and honour myth gets destructed. The movie is shot in a fake documentary style that follows the Yakuza through the years. Very well made.

i think a lot of the praise for "LMS" is based on the fact that it is kind of a throwback to comedies from a few years ago. this is a refreshing, gentle comedy.
I'm glad I saw this in the theater before I knew much about it. It's a shame that people let hype ruin movies for them - that's not the film's fault. I would be pissed if a commercial gave away the ending for me though.

Finally got to see Delicatessen last night, after wanting to see it for years. I liked it very much. It's not as good as Amelie, but you can see the director perfecting some of the techniques that he would later use in that film.

I agree with that. I didn't care for A Very Long Engagement with Audrey Tatou as much.I really enjoyed Being There with Peter Sellers after finally seeing it. Loved all the 70's TV that was in it. Fans of Harold and Maude or Dr. Strangelove should definitely see it you haven't.

Yeah, that was cool. How about this - one of the main kids that mess with him on the street is Oteil Burbridge from the Allman Bros. and Aquarium Rescue Unit! Apparently he grew up in D.C. and it's his only film role.

Craig isn't has good-looking as some of the previous Bonds, but he is certainly one of the best actors to ever play the role.
