Very interesting movie, good action, nicely shot but a little too much running.
Would have liked to see more scenes in Aztec civilization, rather than 58 minutes of pure running/chasing. It was like the freaking French Connection (or Bourne Supremecy) on foot, in a jungle.

Bruce Lee - Enter the Dragon
One of the "classics" I'd never seen before. Entertaining, if not pretty dated, and the acting really left a lot to be desired. But it is BRUCE LEE!! You can't go wrong there.

Very good concept, but very poor execution. Spade couldn't pull it off. He wasn't believeable.
It would have been a much better flick if Sandler, Ferrell or even Steve Carrel had the lead role.
However, the ending almost saved it. There was a group sing-along ala "We Are The World" comprised of former child stars. It was friggin' hilarious.
Here was Maureen McCormick's verse:

Black Snake Moan.
Big thumbs up. One of the most entertaining movies of the past year IMO. Would make my top 10 of year. Just edgy and hot. Soundtrack rocked as well.
Christina Ricci deserves some recognition during awards season for this role. Not to many actresses could have pulled this off.

The Lookout - Really liked this one. Great dialogue and interesting characters.
Layer Cake - Entertaining. Maybe should have had the subtitles on? It was tough to tell what was being said sometimes.
Curse of the Golden Flower - I had mixed feelings about this one. It looked fantastic on bluray and the cinematography of the film was great. There were some good fight scenes. I just couldn't get into the story for some reason.

The Dog Problem - Giovanni Ribisi stars as an out of work writer whose therapist suggests a pet to help him out of his problems....the story revolves around his new pet and the people who he meets...not a bad flick, but not much to it...Ribisi put in another solid performance
Kickin it Old Skool - surprised me a little...thought it would be mindless, and well...it was, but it kept my attention throughout

Just saw The Lives of Others.
German film that won the Oscar for Best Foreign Picture last year. Yep, it's the one that beat Pan's Labryinthe and I would dare to say deservedly so. It's about the Easy Germany in the 80's and there was this culture of paranoia and fear cultivated by the Stasis (the secret police.) It's more than that but I don't want to give too much away.
This is probably the best movie I've seen in a long, long time, and I watch a lot of movies. I'll probably watch it again later this week and I usually never watch movies twice. I highly recommend it.
