If not for this thread, I doubt I ever would have watched John Wick. Glad I did. Fun movie. I don't watch a lot of newer action movies so maybe it's common but a lot of the gunshot kills were really creative and graphic. Keanu had to have watched a little Clint for the role. He knows what roles work for him. 3.5/5

I think I've watched John Wick 3 times now. Good flick. Liked it a lot more than the Equalizer, which came out around the same time.

I guess it depends on what you are looking for.

Netflix is probably more about their original content now than non-original movies & television.

Prime probably has a better catalog but a lot of it is not free. You will find a show in their catalog and then when you go to watch they will charge $1.99/episode ($2.99 for HD). The Amazon Prime free catalog is probably on par with Netflix, it may even be more limited.

Ridicurrous. Not sure why we kept watching. To be honest, we kept watching trying to figure out how the hell the title related to the movie. Good fight scenese, but wow everything else was so cheesy and predictable.

True Story - 8/10

Put off watching this because it only got a 6.5 on IMDB and 50 on Metacritic but thought it was one of the best movies I've seen this year. Great performances by both James Franco and Jonah Hill. I honestly doubt if people who gave this movie bad reviews actually saw it.

There is a lot of tennage angst out there that we are going to get to a point in civilization where we use our kids as experiments or worse, isn't there? Maze Runner, Hunger Games, Divergent..... etc..... Pretty much all the same with their own variations.

It wasn't terrible. The kids did a decent job.

Jurassic World was decent. Lots of down time, but a few times that made all the ladies in the theater jump.

I don't have allegiance to the old movies because I've only seen a few minutes of them. So I didn't have high expectations. But I thought the movie was very entertaining.

Second time watching both. The show was better than I remembered. Holds up well. I could definitely see myself watching it again. The movie wasn't quite as good but still pretty solid.

The wife and I watched the show with my son because we thought he'd like it. We ended up loving it. Mrs. Dogg said it's a real shame that the show only lasted one season. But to me, the show is so quirky, I think we're lucky the network even gave it an entire season.

Stuff like that is nightmare inducing. It was gratuitous and unnecessary and a scene like that should be reserved for films with R ratings.

Then again Jaws was rated PG...and it still freaks me the #### out.

Watched Thor - Dark World this weekend. Was confused in spots (probably should have watched the first one prior) but caught up based on what I know about the Avengers, etc. Worth watching but had some meh-ness to it. 6.5/10.

Regardless, all I'm saying is that I feel it didn't get the same "buzz" that other really good animated movies have - and it should have.

It was a gem, but I didn't watch it until a little prodding and convincing. Loved it. I think the problems were that they didn't stress the story and its adorableness enough and that critics thought it was too much like a major action movie to see that the backstory behind the action sequences was really very cleverly done.

Finally caught Nightcrawler. I know the consensus is that Jake's acting was great but the movie itself was pretty meh, but I actually thought the movie was very good. The whole climax was very suspenseful and intense.

I wonder if part of the reason most people weren't enthralled by the movie itself is that it's more the telling of a story than a movie. There's no real conflict. Lou's plans pretty much go off without anything going wrong from the minute he gets serious about being a news guy. There's never really any time where he's down on his luck and has to bounce back, never any point during the plans where it looks like it's not going to work out, etc. I was fine with this as I thought it was more about his journey deeper and deeper down the rabbit hole in terms of what he would do for the footage, but I can see how others might not be.

People love the Incredibles, but the notion that democratic society is stultifying the otherwise superior culture is kind of...well...predictably Nietzschean, eh cstu?

Whereas Baymax was the product of communitarianism, elite academic culture, familial and social bonds, scientific inquiry, and democratic virtue, the Incredibles was sort of a hortatory admonition that might -- and I stress might -- better belong in the 19th century, though its criticisms, much as they were back then, are valid and interesting.

I've never seen a movie quite like this, so it earned big points for that. I agree with what you said in the spoiler tags. The movie's lack of a self-propelling conflict does feel a little odd. But odd is a quality I admire in movies.

There was resolution. He didn't get AIDS and he still kinda didn't like his life or marriage. Sometimes people don't grow.

I really like this movie.

I take that back. I loved this movie.

I don't really remember reading about it too much or knowing what would happen since it came out last year so I had really no expectations of anything going in. I think the entire cast was brilliant with MM stealing the show hands down. Phenominal performance. And to me, the second best performance wasn't any of the other main characters, it was the black scientist guy that went on the mission. There were so many different ways that they could have gone with that guy being on the ship by himself for 23 years but what they did was perfect. And his emotion and acting when they came back, in that small 3 minute scene, was genius.

I found myself wanting more of the history from normal earth leading to the blight with such things as the changes to the history books and whatnot, but by the same token, all the science and sci-fi aspects of it weren't the main story anyway. This might just end up being one my favorite movies ever.
