Losman's value sure has risen in the past year. Last March I drafted him in a 14 team IDP startup with 19 starters just like this league as the 355th player taken, 233 picks later than Rudnicki got him.8.07 Alex Fernandez Bryant, Antonio SFO WR 2:26:14 p.m.8.08 Jake Parrish Henderson, Devery NOS WR 2:26:14 p.m.8.09 Alex Fernandez Clark, Dallas IND TE 2:30:14 p.m.8.10 Aaron Rudnicki Losman, J.P. FWIW, I got him (basically) for Damon Huard during the season. Aaron's been one of Losman's biggest supporters here, it's no surprise that he'd take him in this league. This is what, pick #110 or something like that? Seems a good pick to me.Losman's value sure has risen in the past year. The jump is mostly due to his being virtually guaranteed the starting position as of now; before the year started, it was really in question, and I ended up with him as QB30 or so in a couple of drafts. It seems that Losman really came on at the end of the year, and as QB17 in a dynasty draft, I think it's pretty good value.FWIW, I got him (basically) for Damon Huard during the season. I knew that was coming. Actually, I am very happy with my WR corps so far. Would I rather have Marc's WRs? Absolutely. In a heartbeat! However:WR1 - Reggie Brown, Eagles. He's more of a "WR2" at this point, but he's young and getting better every year. I think he'll be a "WR1" (I'm talking fantasy numbers here) within the next season or two....when S. Moss and J. Walker are on the wrong side of 30.
WR2 - Deion Branch, Seahawks. My money is on the Seahawks losing 1-2 of last year's WR corps to cap casualties or free agency. That means Branch is almost certainly the WR1 or (at worst) clear WR2 in Seattle. his numbers last season were also MUCH below what they would be in a typical season, given his hold-out at the beginning of the season AND the fact that Hasselbeck (and Alexander, for that matter) missed extended time with injuries.WR3A - Mike Furrey, Lions. He's got two strikes against him: 1. He's 30. 2. He might be moving to the slot. However, he also had 98 receptions and over 1,000 yards receiving in 2006, and I don't think the Lions committed to a decent-sized extension with him to simply see him wasting away as a third-option or "decoy". Roy Williams creates opportunity for him to get open (and get a lot of looks). He also seems to be a favorite of Martz and Kitna....all of which help his cause. I know (in hindsight) that I took him a bit early in our draft. However, I think he presented wonderful value....and how many 75-reception, 800+ yard guys did you still see on the board?
WR3B - Santonio Holmes, Steelers. His off-the-field issues make me nervous (multiple kids with different women, legal run-ins, etc.), but he got into the Steelers starting line-up last year and isn't giving that starting role back! I see at least another 700-800 yards out of him as well, with his TD totals increasing. Increasing to what? I'm not sure yet (want to see more related to Big Ben). He's young, talented and in a good situation (new OC implementing a cleaner/stream-lined passing attack), so I think the future is bright for Mr. Holmes as long as he keeps his nose clean off the field. Not Marc's WR corps, but not too bad considering that you and I have comparable quality in our overall rosters so far (different strategies of arriving at the same goal, young vs. prime), and Terry in our division hasn't drafted his first WR yet.
Brings back memories of people picking Ricky Williams RB IND #3 overall..Good times..bachman predrafted steven jackson from the panthers...it caused a early pick screeching halt...he isnt living it downIf you haven't heard of SJax2 then you don't know squat!I don't get this SJax2 shtick at all.![]()

JJones and Jordan dropping to RB30 and RB31 is some pretty good value.
Thought about WR, but after Bloom took Chad Jackson I had to take LamJ here. I was a huge proponent of LamJ last year, and that blew up.
But at Pick 125, that's sick value. Had to be done.Plus I have 9.02 and 9.04 on deck. That makes two of us.also, let's make no bones about it: i think vince young will rewrite the records and the stereotypes in the NFL. i've seen every single game he's played since his first day at UT, and i am utterly convinced his ceiling is absurdly high.
I was happy to take Ben there, He finished 11th in scoring in the leagues formatt last year, not to mention never really getting on track til after the 4th game, AND an off year riddled with injuries to him and his star WR.The talk of the Steelers offense moving to more spread formations on early downs is promising for Ben as well. The head injury is a concern. I was talking to some Steeler friends of mine and they worry that Ben may suffer recuring concushions. Stating that each concushion makes a player more suceptable to having another one. I am not sure if that is true or not but it does cause me some concern.I think if not for the motorcycle accident Ben would have had a much better season last year than he did. And what he did last year was still progressive. He could really explode in 2007. FWP is a good compliment to a more agresive passing offense as well I think and it only makes sense to see the offense move in that direction. As far as Ward/Holmes/Miller/Washington being better recievers than TO/Glenn/Witten/Crayton.. I don't agree. They are younger and will last longer but I they are not better if TO/Glenn do not slip because of age.Ben is definitly a better QB than Romo however.I like the value of Roethlisberger after Romo, Rivers, and Cutler. He might be better than all of those guys and I think he has the best WRs of the bunch.
I thought you reached a little bit for Marshall, but I like this pick. He has good potential.8.11 Sigmund Bloom Jackson, Chad NEP WR 1:39:44 p.m.

Dunno. I'll always give someone credit for living and dying with "their guys." If you think a guy is going to be a great player, then you have to roll the dice. That's the way dynasty goes. I wasn't a big Marshall fan going into last season. He looked too slow to me and wasn't an early pick, but he got some nice hype in camp and started to make some plays in the second half of the season. It could turn into a very solid pick (though I'd argue that Holmes looks like the better option at the moment). If I dont reach for marshall, who will?I thought you reached a little bit for Marshall, but I like this pick. Hmmm, gotta disagree with this. Most overratted WR's usually don't lead the league in TD catches. And anyways, haven't people been saying for a couple years now that Harrison was on a downswing? Seems to still lead most fantasy leagues in receiving stats. Just my two cents though.I really feel like that hinges on TO. IMO, he's one of the most overrated dynasty WRs right now. He'll turn 34 this year. Can he possibly have more than 1-2 elite years left? He has always relied on physical ability to dominate, but old age will rob him of his natural advantage. He already showed signs of slowing down last year. Factor in his character issues and he's a major long-term risk. I think his name recognition is carrying his value too high, just like it did with Faulk, Holmes, and Barber when they were nearing the end.As far as Ward/Holmes/Miller/Washington being better recievers than TO/Glenn/Witten/Crayton.. I don't agree. They are younger and will last longer but I they are not better if TO/Glenn do not slip because of age.

I gag and preselect him, and am relieved when I return to the computer hours later to see I nabbed him as WR39.9.01(129) LenDale White - At RB I have LaDanian Tomlinson . . . and nobody else. Not good. Even worse, Jeff Pasquino selected Lamont Jordan who I was hoping would fall to me here only four picks earlier. I need a backup RB, and preferably one who is young and could theoretically start for a long time . . . I'm just not in love with this pick, but that's what happens with "need picks".

Interesting picks there. Both of those guys have the talent to easily outperform these draft slots. Then again, they might be cellmates in another year.8.16 128. Chris Overton Henry, Chris CIN WR 9.01 129. Chris Overton White, LenDale TEN RB

Those were both great picks, as was your 9.04 Terry Glenn pick. He is great value in round 9.And I figured out part of your strategy from the stands.I'll update tomorrow after 9.04.Just took 8.13 - Lamont Jordan (fell WAY too far) and 9.02 - Brandon Jones.I still won't talk much strategy yet.![]()
Your team is shaping up pretty nice thus far.Well, we're in the part of the draft where there are no longer any guarantees . . . unless you want to grab Adam Vinatieri.Interesting picks there. Henry's talent is obvious. I just felt he's too good to pass up - he could end up being a fantasy stud someday if he keeps his head on straight. White I'm more concerned about because poor work habits don't tend to get fixed and because Travis Henry impressed last year and is still only 28 years old. I debated Ladell Betts (drafted one pick later) and one or two other guys (not drafted yet) but came away thinking that White's age and ability simply made him more valuable. Obviously, I have the short term problem of my RB2 likely not contributing to my squad this year.FWIW, I think Henry is the best pick this round. While we'd all love to draft 24-28 year old studs with every pick, truth is it won't happen. You have to go old at some positions.
