I'm sorry! I love Joe Gibbs. But why do I have togo through this every year. I'm a die hard Redskins fan. And we have flat out sucked since 92. 15 effing years!!!!! Who do we need to come in here and change this thing around? Is it Bill Cowher? Is it some young assitant? We need to do something, I'm sic and tired of this!!!!

I'm not ready to give up just yet. Campbell calling his own plays Peyton-style out of the no-huddle impressed me.

No doubt though that needing to go only in all liklihood go 4-3 from a 6-3 start, to finish the season in the playoffs at 10-6, with a win yesterday looks a hell of a lot better than having to go 5-2 from here on out.

With the schedule they have there's no excuse to drop winnable games, and doubly so at home against division opponents.

Agreed. Love Gibbs as a person, but the game has passed him by. I'd love to have Cowher, but I just don't feel it will happen. Not sure what the answer is, but it isn't Gibbs.

IF Gibbs does go... Who are the possible replacements?John Fox?Marvin Lewis?Lovie Smith?
Unfortunately, the choices will be Al Saunders and Greg Williams. I know Danny can afford to go after Cowher. I also know Danny can afford to pay Greg Williams his $1 million bonus if he is not the next head coach. If Joe Gibbs steps down, for the good of the team (he aint gonna be fired), then he will be loyal to his assistants and hire one as the next coach. Seeing the track record of those two guys as HC, we are looking at another Norv situation. Ya think Danny could make up with Marty? It might be interesting to see Gibbs as President and Marty Schottenheimer as head coach. Is it the coach or the players that lack the killer instinct? I can't say.

Do yourself a favor and admit their done, you'll be much better off. I've been a Skins fan for 28 years, since I was 11 and they're the only team I've ever rooted for. After yesterdays game I am ready to throw in the towel. I don't want to subject myself to any more torture which is watching this team implode and snatch defeat from the jaws of victory time and time again. That was the third game they lost this year after having a comfortable lead. They go into this ulta-conservative try not to lose instead of win mode and choke.I'm just really tired of the act, maybe I'll become a Raider fan.

With all signs pointing to ST21 out next week and maybe more, it's tough to see how they keep it together and stay in contention for the wild card.

What is it that the 'Skins need most? D-line help? Better WR's.Seems like a good location for DeSean Jackson to land.
I'm thinking DT then Chris Williams Wr dude is 6-4 240 runs a 4.6
Well their biggest need right now might be depth on the Oline, that has killed them. With Jansen and Randy Thomas in, you can't tell me Portis doesn't find the end zone in one of the 7 plays they ran goal to go in that one series. Obviously if all is well there, they will not be spending their first rounder on the oline. I definately think that WR is the next biggest need with DE a close second. I thought the DT play has been decent this year and Montgomery and Golston are continuing to develop. Putting a legit pass rush threat opposite Andre Carter would be a huge boost and would take some of the pressure off of the secondary.

I really think we need a big WR. The last one we had was that bum M. Westbrook. When we get on the goalline teams can double Cooley, and play the run with no real threat of a jump ball wr. Oline depth is always good. And what about a M Forte? 2nd or 3rd rd?

I'm praying Gibbs goes upstairs, continues to help with the scouting talent, and on draft day, but we get a new, younger, more aggressive head coach, with NFL experience (no college coaches after the spurrier mess) And i'm one of Gibbs biggest fans. I was old enough to enjoy all 3 SB victories. He's a great man, but no longer a great coach in the heat of the battle.

While Gibbs has had plenty of game managment issues, the problems with the team are due to the choices made by the front office (which Gibbs also has to take at least some blame for). Yeah, they lack OL depth, but that's not surprising when they've consistently traded away draft choices.

Now, I thought the optimism this season was misplaced. I think many fans have an unrealistically rosy picture of Jason Campbell as a QB. He's not good enough to get them to the playoffs this year. He might be there in a season or two, but I don't see a lot of patience with the fan base.

There's no quick fix for the Redskins. Maybe a true franchise defensive end would make the biggest difference, but otherwise, what the Redskins need is a bit more everywhere. One more reliable receiver. One more competent corner. Some more on the OLine. The way to get that is to keep your draft choices and pick well.

More or less in order of priority:OL depth/heirs apparentLDECBDTWRThe OL's they need can be gotten in the 2nd and 3rd round and later, which means that they need to focus upon getting the best available LDE, CB or DT (and maybe WR) early on in the draft.

15 years isn't that long. The Saints went 33 before winning a playoff game. The Cardinals have gone 60 years with only 1 playoff win. The Lions have gone 50 years with only 1 playoff win. Oddly enough, that lone playoff win for both the Cardinals and Lions was over the Cowboys, but I digress.

I'm not. Gibbs is not a good evaluator of talent or of team personnel needs.
I agree. I want Coach Joe to go back to NASCAR and be a ceremonial head of state for the Redskins. He can talk to George Michael and Sonny on Monday night but stay out of coaching otherwise.I want Russ Grimm to come back to lead this team next year. No retreads from somewhere else, we've tried that with Gibbs. Bring in a True Redskin and a charter Hog to run the team next year and send Gregggggggg and You Can Call Me Al back to where they came from.

The Redskins were until this year the most valuable sports franchise in the world, only overtaken by the Cowboys given the added value of their new stadium. I hope you can understand how their rabid fan base which spends so much money in support of them can think that 15 years is a long time. Mind you, this is a fan base that hasn't forgotten what it is to suck for decades, having done just that between the era of Sammy Baugh in his prime in the mid-1940's until the early 1970's when the successive efforts of Lombardi and Allen revived the team. The expectations are just a bit different is the point I'm making.

I like the Russ Grimm Idea as well.
I understand why people are so high on Russ Grimm, but if you take the B&G glasses off you'll realize not only did he not get the head coaching job in Pittsburgh...he didn't even get the offensive coordinator position in Arizona.

It's not time for the Redskins to start thinking draft. It was time for the Redskins to start thinking draft ten years ago. Now it's time for the Redskins to start thinking about new power structures- preferably ones that don't include the owner.

If Snyder would stay out of personell decisions he would be the perfect owner.

Probably right but did Gibbs make wrong calls here on player evaluation? It's hard to tell on some as we just aren't privvy to those conversations. Personally, I don't think Campbell is the franchise Quarterback the Skins seem to think he is. I may have felt that way at some point but IMO his development has stalled and I'm starting to wonder if this is it with him. Coles for Moss seems like a terrible trade now so I'm thinking they need a QB and #1 WR. Randel-El is a terrific complimentary WR and I'm so "sure" he'd be even better with a solid #1 playing across from him. Cooley's rock solid. RB's excellent. Their line is good, though they underperform. Thrash is a fine 3rd WR. They've got alot of pieces. I really think that a #1 WR and a solid QB in free agency would turn this team around real quick. I'm just not so sure there's a quality QB available via free agency.SSOG, you've gotta see with Cutler it's tough rolling with a new young QB at times. I don't see Campbell having any games where ya feel like "this kid gets it" like sometimes I do with Cutler. I think it was against the Eagles, there was one posession which was just oh my that was bad. In hurryup mode, the shotgun snap came at the wrong time went flopping to the ground, next he threw it away, then a bad uncatchable pass. It was like hurryup give the ball to the D not hurryup and score. He never got his head right and relaxed he just kept panicking and geesh it was bad. I'm sick of reading about Lloyd, he'd better be gone. I'm sick of reading about Moss' injuries like I used to feel about John Abraham's when he was with the Jets. Somehow they've got my sympathy and it's that I hope they'll feel better but then it becomes "would ya play already!".
