Redzone channel (1 Viewer)

Getting it free today. I like the format better than Dumbo the Elephant’s format. He switches games at the right time. The phrase most used this year is “line to gain”. At least it isn’t “He made a football move” this year.

Is there still 2 redzones?

I used to watch the one with Andrew Siciliano when I had DirecTV...been watching the Scott Hanson one for a few years now.

I always watched the Direct TV one. Never watched this one and thought it replaced Direct TV redzone. I like it better than Direct TV. Never knew there were two of them. I could‘n’t get past Dumbo’s ears.

The Hanson one is the NFL Network version. It launched back in 2009.

For some reason I didn’t know that and I have NFL Network

I remember Andrew when he was Tony Brunos update guy and 2nd banana on the morning radio. I never saw the guy back then but yeah he definitely has the ears for radio.

The NFLN Redzone channel costs extra, it's not aired on the NFL Network itself.

MoP Jr ordered the Ticket via Youtube

MoP truth...find myself settling on RedZone and prefer it most of the time
Love the way it surfs around and keeps you up to date on everything

Hate all versions of RedZone. It represents everything wrong with the world today.

My pappy had to watch the Cardinals vs the Bears. My grand pappy had to watch the Cardinals vs the Bears. My great grand pappy had to listen to the Cardinals vs the Bears on the radio. And dagnabbit we should have to watch the Cardinals vs the Bears too!

Seriously though, lack of attention span is a huge issue with the world today. Far bigger, more complex and nuanced that we realize, which is why it gets ignored.

Watch a game from start to finish for goodness sake. It's 2023, you have the option to switch if it's a terrible blowout, otherwise it won't change the outcome of your magic football match either way, so enjoy it.

Colts aren’t on TV much these days, so getting RZ free today is cool. Not paying for YouTube. I have had Sunday Ticket in the past. Have been going to a pub to watch, but not this week.

No. RZ is the greatest channel ever. Have fun watching your one game and 30+ minutes of commercials.

Yeah, I've_watched every Lions game for decades now. What I like about redzone is it gives me something to watch during ads and halftime. Bye weeks are about the only time I watch it all day.

Well, if you're not part of the solution...

Your solution belongs in the FFA forums

RZ has nothing to do with attention span, and everything to do with no commercials and being fantasy-friendly. It's awesome.

I never understood the whole "WATCH A WHOLE GAME" Argument. I am a Steelers fan, but play FF and gamble, so I like to watch every game and get updates. If a game has an exciting finish, or is going to have a possible exciting finish, I will tune in, but overall RZ fits my needs.

and TBH, I like Andrew better then Hanson, but Hanson is not bad.

Please don't take it too seriously.

I do believe attention span, or lack there of, is a huge issue that doesn't receive proper attention but I'm just kidding around in here.

Any interpretation of malice, or bad intent in any way is based on the limitations of reading text in general.

Seriously, Leroy?

How'd you like the Taylor Swift movie?
What does this even mean?
It was a joke man. They don't always land, such is life.

Enjoy your RZ channel.
Just for today only.

Are you ready for some Redzone!?
Nice appetizers on Thursday and Friday
But the season really starts when I hear Scott Hanson say:
"SEVEN HOURS OF COMMERCIAL FREE FOOTBALL STARTS NOW!"

FWIW: Scott Hanson was a fifth string wide receiver at Syracuse University.
His roommate was Marvin Harrison sr.

Tl:dr

I'd sure love to add it somewhere, but each time I find it--connected to this network or that streaming platform, it's a two part fleecing where I have to get a bunch of $hit I don't want just to get RedZone which I do want.

Anyone know how to cut through this? Or the least complicated path?

I watch redzone for early games then head to the bar for the later kick off games then back home to watch the night game.

I love RZ during regualr season and am equally happy when it falls away and I can watch every playoff game start to finish.

System works. (apart from extra international games and stuff)

I just got Sling and their sports pack. Good value and very flexible.

I've had it for years through my Spectrum account.
Just got a new streamlined offer from Spectrum, get the channels I watch for the most part for half the price and i can change up to 15 of them every month
Redzone is in a sports add on package I get for $7 a month. There's other sports channels in the package,I've watched a few here and there
I call Spectrum every year in August to cancel everything and for the last 3 years have gotten a better deal
My total cost with them has actually dropped about 60% in 3 years and I get the programming the entire household wants.

It's been eroding for many decades. Arguably centuries. Some scholars argue that there was a time when novels, yes novels, were regarded much in the same way we regard iPhones now. Can you imagine? "Look at all these whipper snappers walking around with their face in a BOOK!? That was MADE UP BY SOMEONE!? IT'S NOT EVEN A REAL STORY!"

Fast forward to the advent of electricity, radio, and TV and there goes the neighborhood.

There it goes again with floods and floods of cable offerings in the mid 80s.

There it goes again with many more channels, and the turn of millennium's sudden but total ubiquitousness of the internet.

There it goes again with the way Hollywood is catering to this widespread eroding attention span every step of the way, with too many edits to count within moments of the first scenes of movies and series.

And there it goes again with Instagram Reels and TikTok simply going over the cliff with the kinds of algorithms that work to hold each of us hostage and blitz us with one short video after another.

I know you're just bull$hitting around, but as a teacher of American youth, with eyes on history, I don't believe there is any going back without some sort of armed revolution and unconscionable levels of destruction. Lastly, I don't think it's fair to target young people as the only ones doing this, they're just the ones who are going to be around longer than the rest of us to keep it moving in the same direction it's always been moving.

And I now realize your post is ten months old. Sorry.

Wow,who woulda thought The Redzone Channel would spark this conversation. It is interesting though.
But on the flip side I don't see tuned in and consuming SEVEN HOURS OF COMMERCIAL FREE FOOTBALL as having a short attention span.
Seven hours is a pretty long time. imop

I'm not seeing it free through YouTube tv. I've been a customer for years though. Maybe it's only for new people. For existing have to pay $10.99/mo for the sports package. I usually sign up on the Sunday of week 1 and cancel the last Sunday, week 18. Ends up being about $42-45 for the season.

I do the same with Hulu for $9.99 month with their sports package.

This is the answer. NFL+ Premium

You only get Redzone.
I did this, and it's up on my computer just fine, but I can't find where I can add any apps on my Smart TV for NFL Network, NFL +, or RedZone, or any of it. Computer only is fine, but is that all I get?

There's an NFL app. I don't know what kind of TV you're using but I'd imagine it's pretty widely available.

That's what I thought. It's a Samsung and I am shocked and chagrined to say it's just not there. I can't be this stupid. Can I?

Huh, according to google the NFL app isn't supported on Samsung smart TVs. Color me surprised. I use a Fire Stick for everything, I've always felt the built-in app experiences on smart TVs were not as good.

The alternative is adding on RedZone to another streaming service you're already paying for like Sling, Fubo, etc. Usually runs around $10 a month to add the "sports package" (which is going to include like 50 other channels you'll never watch, you're basically just paying $10/mo for RedZone and then canceling at the end of the season).
